Motivé par le bon avancement de mon projet d’auto-édition sur Ulule [link] je me démène pour tenter de réaliser un chapitre exceptionnel pour les pages bonus de l'album papier des Voisins du Chaos réservé au généreux donateurs. L'histoire du chapitre aura lieu entre le tome 1 et le tome 2 et permettra de découvrir de nouveaux lieux à Heatown.

Quand je fais mes croquis et mes recherches pour les décors, je me donne comme challenge de mettre en valeurs des lieux qui au premier abord pourrait paraitre tout à fait banal, voir repoussant, tel qu'ici avec un terrain de basket et un local de gestion du réseau fluvial abandonné. Mais j'ai tout de même mes limites, je m'imagine mal sublimer un radiateur ou rendre séduisante une botte en caoutchouc. Quoique avec un peu de maquillage, je connais certains collègues d'atelier déviants qui pourraient être tentés.

Toujours concernant la conception de mes décors, je fais toujours en sorte d'essayer d'exprimer le plus de bazar et de dispersions dans les éléments présents sur la scène. Il est toujours difficile de mettre du chaos dans nos dessins car notre esprit résonne souvent de manière géométrique en alignant par réflexe les différents détails d'une composition. Il faut se forcer à éparpiller les éléments qui construisent notre image pour donner plus de vie à la scène.
Une astuce pour cette technique : repenser à un scène chaotique tel que la chambre petite sœur, le frigo d'un étudiant ou l'assemblée nationale.

Anyways, a little fanart for one of my favorite bands; DEVICE!!!
I saw Device live back in April with a bunch of other bands that I admire. I got the chance to meet Device that day, but I forgot to give them a drawing I did for them. I was cleaning out my drawing folder about a week ago and I stumbled upon the drawing I made for them. Without hesitation, I decided to make it digital and send it to them via twitter.

I got to play around with our braids for a bit ahahaha.

Thorin is coming along slowly. I do, however, enjoy drawing him VERY much (also thanks to the lovely Richard Armitage who plays this character.)

The hardest part has yet to come, which is his fur coat. And costume. And background... Good lord... But first I got to finish his armour, which so far has taken me 2 to 3 hours of work already. Ooph

Hope you like it so far sorry for the bad photo quality. I took it with my phone to show it to a friend of mine (~LunaNueva01 ) before I decided to post it on deviantART as well.

You have no idea how creeped out I was working on this, all the while being stared at by Totoro-Kurama. Hahaha! He's kinda cute though, at least fluffy and nice to hug maybe?

Background info on the artwork:

One of the more recent developments in Naruto that really gets me is the transition of the relationship between Naruto and Kurama, the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox. It's been rough, but now, oh man. That brofist in the Niwaka Ame Nimo Makezu anime opening... ~~BEST BROMODACHIS 5EVER~~

Ahem.

To commemorate their new bond, I wanted to draw a series of artworks of Naruto and Kurama as other famous human and creature companion pairs. First up is this — My Neighbor Kurama

Little Naruto was fun to draw in the style of Studio Ghibli. I hardly had any difficulties with the little tyke.

Kurama is another story, though. I don't know which is scarier, the original form of the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox or this thing I've drawn. Hahaha! Also, I've learned that it's a bit of a challenge positioning nine tails.

To be honest, Totoro has always kind of scared me even though everyone keeps going on about how cute he is. It was quite amusing to take that fear on another level and splice him with the Kyuubi. I'm definitely scared now!

I suppose this is also appropriate considering that during Naruto's early childhood, the Kyuubi was this thing lurking inside him that he didn't quite understand and caused much dread and apprehension.

(Just to share, I was creeped out by Totoro even before finding out about the Sayama Incident theory. Whether or not it is true, I do enjoy that idea and I felt it gave the movie much more depth. Read at your own discretion! Possible childhood ruiner if you don't like creepy things, hahah)

Process:

I had a lot of fun working on this, and am quite happy with the end result! The process was pretty simple.

I started the sketch on paper, scanned it, then inked and colored it in Photoshop. Just normal round brushes on Naruto and Kurama. I painted the background in Photoshop as well, using some textured brushes. One was called Flat Charcoal, and the other was like, Oil Pastel or something. I'm bad at names, hahah.

I'll post an entry about this (and the two other pieces in this series) on my art blog soon!

Episty - Organized Neatly.

An illustration that I've been working on this week for Episty, inspired by the Things Organized Neatly Tumblr. The brief was to create something cool and techy to put on the Facebook [link] and Twitter pages, and I thought it would be exciting to do an image that featured all the objects that the Episty team use day-to-day whilst working on our exciting projects, (Wacom tablet, I'm looking at you).

Honestly, this image has been incredibly frustrating to work on for several reasons, mostly to do with dimensions (Twitter, y u no rescale background image?) and I reworked it a few times. You can read about my process/frustration on my blog if you'd like to [link]
Despite the frustration, I've learnt a lot doing this image, especially concerning working with a limited colour palette and selecting values from hues.

Concernant le projet Ulule, c'est bien parti, en une semaine 39% du projet a été financé. Je rappelle donc à ceux qui seraient intéressés par l'album de ne pas trop trainer car j'ai jusqu'au 1er juillet pour remplir les objectifs de précommandes

Long time no see guys, finally after fixing my MacBook Pro I can get back to work on creating what I love. I've started to create a cleaner look for my social media branding and have been playing around with some ideas. I'd like to share these ideas with you guys as I go.

Features

The pack at this time includes a Twitter and Facebook design. The Twitter design has 6 different styles, 3 Canon and 3 Nikon designs plus the background. The Facebook cover includes one Canon and one Nikon design.

The Twitter background has icons for most of the Social Networks used today IE: Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Soundcloud, and a lot more.

All PSD's are extremely easy to edit, all it takes it replacing one image with your design choose and choose which style you like.

Been working on this since I woke up this morning and still doesn't look like Daenerys, but I'm done fooling with it. Gonna finish it out anyway.

I drew this 2 days ago and finished coloring the whole thing today. It's been a long time since I've used my color pencils so I thought I'd give them a try on my new --cheap-- sketchbook that I bought at Walgreens. I realized that the texture of the paper doesn't really make color pencil work look very nice... So now I know I will only color my drawings with markers, lol. The electricity went out the day that I drew this (precisely why I drew it -.- lol). I was bored and decided to practice perspective, but that didn't turn out very well and I ended up doing this. I decided to AT LEAST motivate myself to draw a decent background (unlike all my other boring, background-less artwork) and here it is. What inspired me to make this background was my own home (I live in the mountains, so yeah...). The girl does NOT represent me, I look nothing like her (I wish I did lulz she's so cutez). Anyway, I hope you all like it, I did work hard on it.

This is an example of the Channel Art, It is NOT the original style YouTube background. Its for the new channels that use a small pannel. I make them for free, this is not the only font I use, just give suggestions and I'll make it how you want. It will not have the facebook/twitter/deviantart logo, but you can put it on threw the YouTube settings, and they'll add it to the bottom right corner for links, it was just an example of what it will look like. I had to shoot under totally insufficient light-conditions, of course... To get sharp results I needed a high ISO which of course resulted in significant Background noise I had to manually reduce. My part of the art trade between me and ~CrazySakuria! Did a few new things with this piece. Tried actually drawing/colouring a background for one thing, changing my lineart technique as well as my colouring. My second pic of my Hunger Games Fanart Friday uploads. Here's Peeta Mellark, the painfully forced love interest of our protagonist. I had a hard time finding good reference photos of this character for the full outfit, but I found one of him crouching, so I used that instead, 'cause I had every intention, initially, to put he and Katniss together in one pic. But because I'm a sucker for page views, I decided to keep them split up (I drew them on separate sheets of paper). This one's... not BAD, but I'm not entirely pleased with it either. Feh, I'm my own worst critic, really. Had a hell of a time with his right leg, and it still doesn't look right to me. Bah. Hope it's awfulness isn't too noticeable.

I like Josh Hutcherson as an actor, but I REALLY REALLY did not like the character of Peeta... he was so FORCED, and I KNOW it's supposed to be that way due to the nature of the story, but, ugh, it made me cringe. Sorry, guys, if you're fans, but AHHH. Forced love triangles piss me off.

But yay, Hunger Games, which I am not a fan of, hah hah. But the characters are fun to draw
