This is the is the finished version with texture, the main purpose of this was to practic UVW unwrap in 3d max.

All the textures were made by me, i scan a Carslberg can and photoshoped it in to a texture. the Stainless steal texture was made from scratch using Photoshop.

My next picture will show how the textures and the models and how it all fit together!

The Giant's Field

This field is beside the Giant's Ring in Belfast. It probably isn't really called the Giant's Field, but it's a catchy title

I rather liked the texture of the furrows as the low sunlight cast shadows across the surface of the field.

I'm not sure where the pile of stones came from, whether someone is intending to build a wall, or someone just demolished one. In the foreground unfortunately are some empty tins of beer, a good sign I shouldn't hang around for long.

Apologies for the terrible photo, I took it myself with my free hand. This is probably my favourite non-steampunk thing I've made, and it's made entirely out of beer cans! (with a bit of shoe-polish for colour effects and wire rivets holding the whole thing together, and some leather straps that hold the thumb and finger sections to the hand part).

It actually looks way cooler than this in real life.

What I like about this is that my hand still has pretty much full flexibility. the back of the hand and wrist has five pieces riveted together and I can bend my hand right back, and wiggle my fingers in all directions quite comfortably.

If I wear this to public gatherings I get swarmed by teenage boys. So I stopped wearing it to public gatherings.

under contract-- and also as a favor for an old friend who likemindedly opposes teh-evil Samson, the kooky Dr. Grimmway isolated several acres of land in an undisclosed location in the southwestern United States. technically that makes it a tiny separate universe, but it was never removed from the earth-- so basically the road to it would lead nowhere for anybody without the means or intent to enter it. their utilities and such are still sNeaKiLy imported from town. down to the stolen cable signal.

on this estate were a farmhouse, a couple dilapidated tin-roof barns, some environmentally out-of-place trees (the boys wanted trees, the landscape was boring) and a whole lot of nothing. of course, within several days of everyone moving in and setting up shop, the yard was strewn with crap, including but not limited to:

torn down vehicles, stolen lawn decorations [gnomes, jockeys, flamingos], stolen patio furniture [littered with beer cans/bottles, ash trays, paraphernalia, auto parts and related items], playing cards, broken guitars, bonfire ash, and golf balls. (solid shit bounces off the barrier around the place). the barns were stocked with schmancy parts and rebuilds to be sold away, and separate beer fridges (so they don't have to walk ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE HOUSE while they're working). oh and Seth has his pot plants and hardcore albums in there too.

whew. that's just OUTSIDE.

but Dr. Grimm can't do EVERYTHING for them, though; he's a pricey guy to hire. so a little security in cashflow was needed. because for all intents and purposes, Seth, Levy, Baryx, and Ramir left their "jobs" and lives behind to be a part of Terry's special assignment from his partner who happens to be the leader of the free Ascelli. basically, Operation Hide the Major from Samson and co. for as long as Required. couldn't have her living a normal life on Earth, just a sitting duck waiting to be implemented in the final blow. that'd suck pretty hard. Ascelli tend to love life, especially on Earth.

so what now? buy lots of alcohol. work most of the day and party the rest. have all your Ascellan buddies over every other night, and 'eliminate' any shady motherfuckers who'd compromise things. leave the estate periodically to buy/sell/steal and elsehow run the 'business.' also to go on SCANT AND INFREQUENT grocery runs, on which Seth and levy are usually sent. Baryx or stone-faced Ramir chaperone them so they don't fuck around/take forever/buy stupid shit. "$100 worth of Capn' Crunch! awright bro we're set for the MONTH!" hey, it happened once.

so yeah. it's pretty lighthearted and idiotic. even the Major calms down and cheers up and stops clawing at the walls after a few days. she doesn't have to work, she doesn't have to worry about her health thanks to the Grim Doctor, she doesn't have to worry about anything. maybe getting abducted and ripped away from your normal human life wasn't so bad. well, there's the whole Samson thing. but hey, these guys'll... stop... him... right?

inevitably, sometimes they forget why they're there. the time frame was set "question mark;" even the Major would be an indefinite existence as long as she stayed off Earth proper. (thanks Doc). but in fact only just under a year passes in this fraternal little redneck utopia, before the state of affairs within the Universi catch up to them...

This is my Cockatiel Amigo in Tin Can form. She is a cinnamon pearled pied cockatiel, hence all the random colors in the "feathers." I sculpted the body out of sculpy clay, baked it in the oven, then covered the outside in soda can cutouts. The yellow I think I found on diet root beer cans and there wasn't much on each can, so I had my brother chug some sodas for me I'm honestly amazed I didn't cut myself horribly when cutting out those feathers o_O

Back when I was in high school Coca-Cola sent these little tins filled with some bs propaganda to get kids to push their product for them. Anyways, I tossed out that crap inside, but it struck me that this tin may have another ironic use.

There is actually more to the story of this shot than just that. About a year or so ago, maybe more, I had a life altering experience that started out with a scene much like this one. Yes, this is a recreation; I have long since moved past that lifestyle (well not the beer part). So I guess this shot was just my way of reconciling what happened, not that it really did

these are some digital pictures I've been keeping on my hard drive for more than a year. they aren't shown here in chronological order- the eldest one is probably the troll head (with feminine eyes, I used to have a huge problem with making them look more masculine xD), which was drawn about a whole YEAR ago.
my favourite pictures of these are probably my Warrior Stormthroat (the grey longhaired tomcat with a stocky built, the 4th one in the 1st row), running Helkfrost for =griffsnuff (the black-blue-teal creature with drippy paws) and Blacky & Airashii with a tin of beer. I also quite like the face of snarling Neoneye, the fourth from the left in the lowest row (she was originally dragon, but I designed her a big cat version that I really like, and the dark grey cub you can see is the same character as well)

While out driving one evening, James Townsend encountered a large, upright rocket in the middle of the road. Wanting evidence, Townsend decided to knock it over with his car. However his car stalled, so ho got out to knock it over by hand.
Upon leaving his car, Townsend sighted three small beings that looked like beer cans. They walked awkwardly on two fins, extending a third whenever they stopped. Despite lacking eyes, Townsend felt they were staring at him. After a few minutes the cans went up into the "colorless" light into the rocket, and took off into the night, leaving behind three parallel lines of an oily substance.

He threw Zero, who got stuck in the ceiling, then he grabbed a chair and hit Tin in the face. Also, I just had to put my friend character Hesper on the floor drunk on the Rainbow Rum. Saw the blacksmith at the Easter Market on Staroměstské náměstí (Old Town Square) in Prague come round with some change for the "beer money" tin...

Just missed getting the coins into the picture too by a second, and no matter how long I waited, he didn't come back again. The upside down can is my hand made wasteland microphone. piezo buzzer scavenged with spliced music cable with a 1/4 inch plug. sounds like a bullhorn meets a harmonica mic. I love it. Mentats made using bloodpainter's label on an altoids tin. Paint to match, abuse appropriately. the bottles (excludind the rotgut and beer bottle) are each 100-120 years old. almost as old as the in-game ones. Bought some from antique shops, some from the net. Working on an Olde Royale whiskey box guitar. still need a fret saw......
