I always thought Yuki and Ayame Sohma from Fruits Basket would make good elves so...I couldn't resist

This drawing was loads of fun and at first, I was so upset with the way the background was turning out, I almost scraped it but then I kept at it and now I like the results...it probably didn't help the fact I had worked about 7 straight hours on this piece that day. I think my patience was at it's limits.

Heh, anyone notice I almost always put Yuki in blue clothes? What can I say, I love the color blue on that boy

I'm hoping to actually ink and colour this one properly, and if I do then I'll stuff this version into my Scraps. I'll also hold back on actually describing what the heck is going on until the pic is done; for now, you'll just have to trust me when I say that there is some method to this madness, and it isn't just an entirely random mess.

For the time being, I just wanted to tease you all with sketch elves... because everyone loves elves

Three Elves based off the designs from Peter Jackson's vision of Lord of the Rings. I more or less followed the exact constume designs as seen in the Concept Art books, as I just felt like drawing and couldn't be bothered thinking. And I really like the armour designs developed by the concept artists in the film, very wonderful to render.

These were quite quick studies, around half an hour for each pencil drawing and an hour for the rendering on computer (only because I couldn't choose colours!) Be nice, don't crit me too harshly on dodgy anatomy!

HAY GUYS CHECK OUT MY MASTERPIECE. Gosh. There were a billion times over the several months since last april when I didn't think I'd finish it. Computer broke TWICE, among other things that were just kind of crazy. Anyway I broke down, bit a huge chunk out of my savings, and bought a cheap laptop so my computer woes should be over... for now. >_>

So these are all of the characters in my fantasy story which I was writing some sort of novel-type thing... when I was fourteen. I'm not sure about the format anymore. Maybe shortened novel w/ lots of illustrations. That is, once I start writing again. When I was 16 or so I was really ambitious about it and I kind of burned out, so now that I've reworked the story so that it isn't CRAP, I'm taking my time, labor of love sort of thing.

Each portrait took something like 4-5 hours from sketch to finish. O_o

Requested by based on the theme of the title. I dunno whether i stuck to that theme but i just did the best i could.....and actually this submission is kinda way past the deadline intended (sorry Ciel) ><
if you like it, grab a copy of Ciel's doujin ya~ XD

Experimenting with a new cg style again, and i pretty much liked how it turned out. The elf girl took me a very long time to complete the outline cause i was always trying to repair something. Color matching took even longer...

The biggest challenge of the whole pic is the background itself.....i had to use a lot of references @@" and has pretty much taken 60% of the time for the completion of the pic. For once i had spent such a long time for backgrounds and is a great learning curve for me, still have a long way to go with backgrounds o_@

I really really loved the little elves in "Rise of the Guardians" and for some reason I named one of them Baldrick an he has an attachment to breakfast sausage and always snatches one from the kitchen and tries to carry it around with him all day.....one of his friends has a love for pure syrup too....I dont know just ignore me.

*I have touched this one up a bit and added a nice ethereal glow...whether it is worth an update notification I don't know so I apologise, but for anyone who wants to know I have. Cheers.

They will hypnotize the little gembirds with their intoxicating eyes, then when the moment is right the elf will grab the bird from below in one swift movement. They don't offer much meat, but they taste divine.

These are nothing like the Norwegian wood elves in my book ( The Battle Of The Blue Glacier : A Tristas Treezle Adventure...still yet to be published ) but I couldn't think of a name for them so that was the best I could do.

This is the first time I have done a...dare I say it...elf! Never thought I would see the day.

A photo of Jessica Stam was used as a ref for the elf on the left. For the elf on the right I used my Aqua painting as a rough template. I used my ears as a reference ( they aren't pointy though ) and my girlfriend kindly posed her hands ( yes all 3 ) for me. The bird I just made up. I saved some stages so will probably post a WIP at some stage

Of all of the classic fantasy characters, Elves are by far my favorites, and as Elves go, Dark Elves are at the top of the list.

When I created these concepts, I attempted to re-define the basic shapes and patterns that are normally used on Dark Elves like triangles and spider web patterns with rounded curves. Inspiration was pulled from Maori,
Native American, and Japanese designs. All 3 of these cultures have heavily influenced many of the illustrations in my Gallery.

All of the creature motifs used in the ornamentation of the armor are based on traditional RPG Dark Elf lore such as skeleton Knee and shoulder pads, beholder chest straps, and mind flayer hip guards.

This scene is something I wanted to paint a long time ago.
Painting is traditional work, fan art, and it is a painted scene from Peter Jackson`s adaptation of the "Lord of The Rings" , breath-taking three-volume book originally written by my favourite writer,amazing John Ronald Reuel Tolkien.

This was deleted scene from the extended edition of the first film,"The Fellowship of the ring" and on this link you can see that part of the movie :

Inscriptions painted on the top and at the bottom of this painting are elvish runes known as Tengwar , script created by J. R. R. Tolkien for his books,and they represent one part of beautiful Elvish hymn to Varda in J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings.

Yay! I've doodled it while chatting, this drawing has been poucing my head for a while and I HAD to draw it, in Maesë, on the age called by "Age of Justice", formely "New Age" (after the King of Avalon's, Laurence death) there where two "kinds" of Elves (besides the "Moon" and other ones) the normal elves, and the "Auer" or "Aueri" (plural) called too by the name of gypsy elves

The lady is a normal elf, she dresses like a noblesse, has a calm and peaceful attitude, loves with "love", doesn't have any childs or have few of them, lives her live in the immortal time, in a slooow and peaceful way. These elves like to wear silver, gold and white, they are "organized" and even wearing much accesories sometimes, they always look "clean"

The guy is an "Auer", he is cheerful and loud, he's peaceful too, but not calm, he loves with "passion", the Aueri are nomad, they aren't respected by the noble humans, and aren't well accepted by the other elves as well, because they didn't agreed with the Elven King when he decided to retreat his people from "human lands" back to the islands, and they stood in the continent, living with nomad humans and always changing their location, their music was forbidden by the noble humans because they judged it to be innapropriate and lustful, they like to dance and sing playing mandolins, alaudes, rabels, ocarinas, pífanos, flutes, harps, violin, dulcimer, accordion and pandeira. Some of these instruments, for this reason were, too, forbidden to be played inside the noble area of the cities and castles. They wear colorful clothes with lots of accesories, in the feets sandals or even bare footed, they love the nature like any other elf, and they don't have much children as well, they are still immortal by time, but living a nomad life sure is more dangerous, so they get to breed to keep their kind.

What more I can say? I love them a lot, especially the Auer guy, he doesn't even have a name the poor elf, but he's soo sexy and cool X3

Shai is kinda the Auer who turned noblesse, but kept a lot from the Aueri, actually in the age she lives there's no distinction of these elves, even if they are still different, Shai is playful and dances/sings a lot, she has some influence from the village she grew on, where it was normal for single elves to take bath naked in the middle of the others, and even have affairs with the other/same sex (thus her affair with Laureen), the elves are Bisexual, they treat love between ones of the same sex the most normal thing in the world since they are guided by "pure" love, and don't have to breed like the other races since they are timely immortal.

Lilith is a pure noblesse elven descendant, her grandmother was a half-elf child of a princess from the Royal family of one of the elven Kingdoms at the elven islands, it's hard for some Auer to have the "eyes of the stars" like Lilith has, few elves from the noble family have it. ("eyes of the stars" are the way the elves call the eyes of the ones that have elven blood and pure black eyes (and usually hair as well), it's a simbol of purity and bless, extremely beautiful and valuable people.)
