This is my interpretation of The Deathly Hallows. I used some greenish silver pigments (I wanted that Slytherin was present on the desing) and I drew the symbol with black eyeliner over my lips. I splattered some fake blood over my desing as the final touch.

well i did it, i listened to all of the hp books and i gotta admit, i thoroughly enjoyed them and therefore here is a bit of how i saw the final duel between harry and voldy....

and i gotta admit they really got voldys looks right in the movie tho stephen frys vocal interpretation still owns that character

alas.. now im done with the books and as allways im left with the empty feeling of wanting more....dammit

Where to start...

First off thanks for everyone's patience, for some reason this piece took longer than most. I'm working on a small body of work based on the 7th year of the Harry Potter saga, this is the first of many.

The initial idea was to capture the emotional struggle of Harry, Ron, and Hermione's quest to destroy all of the remaining Horcruxs. The palette was muted in order to grasp the darkness of this chapter in their lives, even with all of the disturbing events taking place around them, I placed a symbol of hope in the middle of the composition.

It's done abstractly in the composition, but you'll notice the shape of the deathly hallows emblem throughout the art, the triangle runs from Ron all the way to the top of Voldemort's head then back down through the death eaters.

For now I kept the edges of the paper visible to give a more descriptive look at the original art.

I treasured Snape's gurgling death..! He's such a tragic and romantic character now.
It was morbidly fun to draw all the blood. (I don't normally do that...hope it looks mostly like blood, anyhow).

With the conclusion of the Harry Potter movie franchise I decided to do a drawing about it. Haven't seen the last one at the moment of upload this, I chose a promotional poster of Deathly Hallows Part I [link] that I found quite powerful and expressive, and added a Gothic corridor as background (from the Gloucester cathedral, I think).
Again, I didn't airbrushed the picture, leving the strokes and lines visible. Colors are not saturated, as in a nocturnal scene, but with several lights.
Drawing Potter was easier than expected, but the background was a pain (nevermind, I love drawing backgrounds). Done in about 12-15 hours, with Paint Tool SAI.

Con la conclusión de la franquicia cinematográfica de Harry Potter, decidí hacer una ilustración de la serie. Sin haber visto todavía la última película, escogí un cartel promocional de Las Reliquias de la Muerte Parte I [link] que me pareció una imagen potente y expresiva, y le añadí un escenario gótico (creo que de la catedral de Gloucester).
De nuevo, no difuminé el dibujo, sino que dejé visibles los trazos. Los colores no están saturados, como si se tratase de una escena nocturna, aunque con varios puntos de luz.
Dibujar a Potter fue más fácil de lo esperado, pero el fondo fue tremendo (aunque me da igual, disfruto haciendo fondos). Hecho en 12-15 horas, con el Paint Tool SAI.

okay, okay, i know this is pathetic i'm so, so sorry.
so.
this is the sign of the deathly hallows.
you know. the seventh harry potter book. and the deathly hallows oh whatever.
i finished reading 3 days ago and i didn't cry which is a big, big surprise regarding the fact that i've been a HP fan since the age of 9 (7 years now ) and i thought i'd cry like a baby when it all ends. but i didn't. okay, i nearly cried when the countdown started at the release party, but that doesn't really matter, does it? and there were parts when i was like 'OMG ' clearly depressed ...
all i can say is.. WHY THE BLOODY HELL DID SHE KILL [inserts long beep here, no spoilers]

I love Ron but sometimes he can be such a dummy! There are a lot of little "Dummy-Ron moments" in the books, and they are all so funny!

PS: Don't get me wrong, he's not an idiot or anything, he just has some brilliant "dummy moments" In fact he's got some pretty amazing smart moments as well (going to the cos in Deathly Hallows or thinking of using Felix Felicis to coax the memory out of Slughorn to name a couple!)

You know those moments when you finish a piece, stand back to take a final look and say "Holy crap, I didn't know I could do that!" Yeah, this was one of those moments. I've never done faces, never done so many figures that needed to look like someone specific and was honestly wondering if I'd have to call the client and tell her I didn't think I could do it. But, as it was a Christmas present for her Granddaughter, I gave it a go and I'm really proud of it! Totally doing the happy dance right now.

This was done for a local festival called La Piazza Dell'arte. The whole festival is about chalk drawing in massive scale. My coworker and I decided to combine our two squares and recreate the cover of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

She took the left side (Voldemort) and I took the right side (Harry Potter). The gal in the picture is another coworker who was just helping us to finish it up.

The whole thing took a grand total of 14 hours combined. It would have been a lot less if it wasn't for the fact that it rained on Saturday. Luckily, our piece survived and actually blended what we had down so that it created a fantastic backdrop for the vibrant colors we added.

It was a lot of fun and I intend on doing it again next year.

You-know-who! Here's my version of everyone's favourite dark despot. Why is he covered in smoke? I loved that effect in the movies, so I always pictured him clothed in smoke. I tried to go for a sinister look. He's a real son of a bitch in Deathly Hallows, so I wanted to show him like I imagined him to be, death personified.
Done in 2-3 hours at most. I'll do more sketches like this with characters in the last book. Gimme ideas for the next one!

UPDATE: I had this uploaded separately a few moments ago, and then changed my mind cause I'd like to keep the no. of deviations in my gallery smaller. Anyway, I drew this one sometime last month after my exams and the original plan was always to add Voldemort and buddies to it so that it was complete with a good and evil side to the overall drawing.

So, I recently bought myself an A2 sized sketchbook and I decided to give it it's first drawing. I went on another Harry Potter marathon and watched Deathly Hallows again and now I'm just sick of watching the movies cause I've seen too much of them in one go lol.

FRED! OH FRED, WHY, WHY, WHY?!?! The twins were a force of nature! I knew at least one of the Weasleys was going to die, but BWAAAAAAAH!!!

The bad thing is that basically my three favorite characters died in the span of two chapters. The good thing is that I have about ten pages of decent fanart that I have to color and upload.

And also, it is freaking hard to draw someone without an ear. Thanks, JKR.

Oh Freddie. And Lupin and Tonks. Alas, you will remain in my heart always and forever. Although Lupin was a little weird in this book. But whatev.

You know, the more I surf the DA, the more I realize that I seem to find more pleasure in people's simple doodles than in the super over done A-mazing pieces. Even though those awesome and detailed pictures are fun to look at, often times it's the quick sketches that get across the characters. So, instead of just ignoring all these, I threw them on Corel Painter 8 and colored them.

First we have Harry comforting Ron after the whole locket deal. I thought that scene was awesome. I should've drawn them man-hugging.

Secondly there's Lupin and Tonks.

Then Luna, and Ron and his patronus.

Then Dobby. That scene was freaking depressing, man. ;_;

Then Snape dying. That was awesome. (The scene, I mean.) Especially how he used Harry to see Lily's eyes before he died.

Next Fred and George. There wasn't much on George's reaction, although I suppose it's better, since that way we don't end on one emo twin, we end up with two very happy twins in our minds. That's better. So, George sharing a last smile with Fred, although Fred is likely not paying any attention, being dead and all. ;_;

Then Ron and Hermione. Whoo. I'm sure everyone and their great aunt Margaret have drawn this, but I couldn't help it. Honestly, I haven't drawn any of these characters seriously before, so I thought "why not?" and just drew everything I could think of.

Then Harry and the snitch. "I'm about to die".

Then Neville killing Nagini. Gooo Neville.

Percy. Yah. I pictured him with his hair slicked back, but I saw him in the movie, and I kinda liked his curly hair. ...Even though he didn't have glasses. I think the directors just think we're too stupid to distinguish all the glasses wearers or something, so only Harry and Trelawny get glasses. xD

Then Harry and Neville, talking about snake killing.

Then more Fred and George. Hope you can read my handwriting. I spent the longest time on this one, seieng as I drew it and colored it last. I kinda saved the best for last. I do that alot, even though I shouldn't, like with backgrounds and such. >> Anyway! This one is so my favorite. I just wanted a "life goes on. (...sordof.)" picture. Couldn't bare to leave the twins on sucha sad note.

Well, she IS! She's a genius, that much is fairly clear, and what she did in Deathly Hallows... well. Quite.

Filler, basically. The comic is being done as I write this, but it's still only about a third done, and I might have to re-draw one or two panels that I'm not happy with. The one that made me cry I had to draw twice anyway because it got all blotchy! XP

Man, I'm a wuss. Anyway, hope you're all well! Thankyou for all your kind comments and remarkable spirit!

...Also, cheesiness with the pen-icon I keep using, and I can't draw guns or lazers. Bleh. Straight lines scare me (*boggart turns into a ruler* AAAAAH! )

A bit of a color/mood change from my last upload. I could do more to this, but I sat back and liked it the sketchy way it was.

This is from the final confrontation between Harry and Voldemort. You know that part in The Incredibles where Frozone and Mr. Incredible are laughing about how villains start monologuing before they kill you? That's what I felt like here, only with Harry. But it's okay, I still liked the ending, although I had to reread it a few times before I understood it, but that's probably due to lack of sleep.

Somehow I couldn't just get this song out of my mind when I was drawing it... And well, did I say lately that I won't be doing any HP related art? Did I? Really?
Looks like it's just stronger than me. But I was waiting so long for this to happen in the books that I simply couldn't miss the opportunity to draw Lily and Severus at last according to canon

Whenever I draw Snape, people say, he's handsome *scratches head*. And I try so hard...

And trying out a new technique of which I'm quite fond. Hope you will like it too.

Deathly Hallows - THE SNATCHER

The Snatcher, Scabior from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. VERY minor role in Part 2 _{(you may remember him leading the pack of evil wizards chasing Neville Longbottom across the bridge as it blows)} but enough screentime to make a really annoying "boss battle" in the Video Game.

I thought he should have his own little poster. He did actually share an official poster (with Greyback) for the Part 1 promos, but not for Part 2. So I decided to paint him in the style of one of those awesome "IT ALL ENDS" posters: [link]

Not one of my best (face detail-wise) but I really wanted to play with that lighting and those nice colors. I absolutely LOVE the graphics of those posters. They had SPARKS!!

Really pleased with how it came out. I basically painted it all in greyscale, then added all the lighting/color effects over the top and just played around with the saturation.

wow...dunno where that came from!

oh...right...er...HARRY POTTER BOOK 7 SPOILERS

so...start with the beginnings of an obession, and countless (read: MANY) hours later...well...here you have it! Since long-fromat scroll comics seem to be all the rage (I happen to love them!) I thought I'd try my hand!
I have been SO excited about this project...I know it's a short read, but seriously, this is probably the most ambitious thing I've ever done art-work-wise that hasn't been assigned to me...thanks, RISD! (this is what I now do with my summer vacation ) Anyways I LOVED the Grindelwald/Albus sub-plot in book 7, and I had to give this a shot at least, I just didn't think I'd actually DO it
As usual, I could go on for ages, but I'll try to keep it brief. I've been tossing this back and forth with [link] for a week or two now, just to bounce concepts around, and it evolved from there. It's really the first time I've taken a comic of any size all the way from concept to competion since I was, like...12.
The verdict: I may actually really love doing comics!

It's sooo overdone lately, but since many of you asked so kindly, I have finished the Mirror of Erised illustration^-^. Technically something a bit different again.

I know that many of you would have their own vision of it, but for the purpose of the composition and the idea in my head I chose Lily to be alone in the mirror.
And just ignore the awkward floor - Hogwarts is a weird place and you know it
Oh, and for everyone who has doubts about Lily's head and arm - her legs don't end with the mirror frame, so her anatomy is fine, besides she's not real, but just a projection.
