Today was Merida's coronation into the Disney lineup as their 11th princess! So happy, I'm going to enjoy seeing her gorgeous face all over merchandise lol

Cape is based on the one Merida wears in the Disney parks. Going to be wearing it again at Fanime with a brand new Merida dress I'm making, this time very closely based on the one she wears at WDW & DL. I just faked it in my "Merida's Closet" collage but for Fanime I drafted a new pattern, bought some gorgeous silk velvet, and am making a new belt too! Only have a week to make it though... ahhhh!!

_{first of all, I have no words how to thank Marcin and Ania for this shoot.
It was not easy one, since Tifa is really a fightning type and still poses are just not in her character to make. But I think we did good.
btw, there is not much photoshop beside the background and the lightning effect - I assume You, that I had really good make-up and amazing lighting ( that You can actually see on Marcin's photographs ) And also, it's Tifa, she's not an ordinary girl.

I finally was able to get my hands on a blue suiting fabric I didn't hate. lol. I actually quite love it. It's not a flat blue because of the weave of the wool blend. I super love it. Especially since I get so tanned during the summer =3 Brown definitely isn't my color when I'm super tan. lol.

Finally winding down my Darling Doctor Collection. Just need to finish Cyberman, Tom Baker, Rassilon/Gallifreyan Robes, and maybe a K-9 and Ood. So excited!

Yay! I finally took a picture of one of my black jumpers! I've actually amde several of these for a number of girls who were looking to use them as Castiel jumpers. I always seem to forget to take a picture, though. lol

Anywho, this is a double layer pinafore with a split bodice so you can wear your own tie and shirt. And, yes, I know I used a black tie instead of a blue one, but I didn't have a blue one on hand =X So black it is!

Oh god...just thought of him wearing this for Dean....LOL

WE LOVE Ghibli if you can't tell from my gallery, and simply adore Ponyo. I love that this photo is almost the reverse little mermaid love story, Sea Goddess drags wizard to this death in the sea.
This was from our second take on the shoot, and I love this photo since we somehow managed to not look like the drowned puffer fish we look like in 80% of all the photos we got,
managed to convey such emotion on her face. THAT'S ALL LOVE. (whereas she usually only tolerates me) There's something very dark and romantic about this shot I adore.

So many trials for this photoshoot, we all nearly drowned,
especially who couldn't swim lol. But a True artist gets her friends to hold her down with a cement block for her work.

The Shoot:

We managed to get a second shoot up from the first try where we nearly caught hypothermia and broke Straw's camera. This time we got a proper under water casing and the difference is amazing.
Our wigs are surprisingly... still okay after this. But the heated pool definitely started running the stripes on my costume. Don't mix heated Chlorine and dyed fabrics kids, remember that's how they chemically lighten blue jeans, so anything else cotton based doesn't stand a chance.
Not pictured here are the reflectors all over the floor, our wonderful helpers with cement blocks holding us and our photographer down. Also Ponyo which floated out of the photo haha.

Every pinafore needs an accessory. While some of us are fine with a sonic screwdriver and a pair of 3D glasses, some of us want something a little more darling. Introducing the David Tennant version of my new Timelord Bows. I figured I'd go for something simple that can be "Doctor Who," but isn't super literal or costumey-wostumey. These are made out of the same fabric as my pinafores so they can be worn together as a full costume or on their own. Also in the Timelord Bow collection is Matt Smith (and a TARDIS soon to follow)

Ninth Doctor -Chris Eccleston- Cosplay Pinafore

Introducing the very limited Ninth Doctor Cosplay Pinafore. This design is based off the leather jacket and pant costume given to Chris Eccleston for the first season of the new Doctor Who. The pinafore features textured pleather and a wool blend fabric. The jumper allows you to wear you choice of shirt underneath .

Due to the complexity and time required for this particular pinafore (pleather is a pain), I will only be offering a limited number of these (five or less). I think my sewing machine would kill me in my sleep if I offered these all the time. I'm thinking about also releasing a cotton version that would be cheaper and more of an all the time thing

Kagekao Cosplay

FINALLY. I've been knitting that scarf ALL DAY. About 7 hours straight of knitting. My hands are aching ;_;

Although it's kind of funny, I have blue metalic knitting needles. Because I've been knitting so long some of the blue rubbed off on my hands, when I noticed my fingers had a slightly blue hue to them I freaked out a little because they looked like they had lost circulation.

Anyway, yay! Finally done. All of the parts of his cosplay (well, shown parts) are the black hoodie (that hoodie actually has white designs on them, I couldn't find a good solid black hoodie), the mask, the scarf, the clawed white gloves, black gloves to go under the white gloves (covers my nails and fingers at the claw holes), and a black bandanna (it goes under the mask and covers some skin).

Can't wait to go on omegle or something XD it will be fun.

Also this picture was a bit of a mess up, but the blur motion looks cool.

And because of making the scarf I delayed writing the next chapter of 'Sadist', but don't worry I'll still get it out today. Well . . . for my timezone tomorrow; very very very early tomorrow. Hell it's gonna be tomorrow in about ten minutes.

I feel like profile shots are better for this costume because it shows off the wig better XD

So yeah! I made this in about one week for Acen so I could do Magi things with friends! <3 I read up to current on the manga, and I enjoy it a lot! I had a hard time picking a character to cosplay, so I picked the one with the most ridiculous hair. XD

I always post a wall of costume construction notes with each new cosplay, so here's this one!

Wig: I used a Vegas from Arda Wigs for the base, and just one long ponytail clip for the ponytail. To save money and having to deal with messier Styrofoam, I used expanding spray foam for all the foam core. I made several huge blobs that I later shaved down with a box knife until I had 10 balls of different sizes. I painted them black and threaded them together with thick wefting thread before gluing and hair-spraying down fibers that I harvested from the ponytail clip. After I got so far down, I glued down the longer fibers from the Vegas to secure the ponytail to the wig, and the top is wrapped with some wide, white elastic. before securing the ends of the fibers down when I got to the end, I started adding some more fibers and would layer the ends of the first set over them so the tops of the loose fibers would be hidden. This whole process is kinda complicated to describe without visual references, but luckily for you guys I will be uploading some of my progress photos when I upload a foam core tutorial. (which will hopefully be sometime this week) After the ponytail was done, I trimmed the Vegas down a lot with a razor and styled it a little.
The wig actually isn't too heavy, and it stayed on my head fine even before I added in wig clips in the front. The only big issue I was having was that the ponytail was pulling the nape away from my head a bit, but I fixed this problems with just a couple wig clips in the back. It likes to bump against my legs as I walk too (since it's goes to around my ankles), so sometimes I have to hold it behind me or around me so that it doesn't get messy (and this also helps a bit with the weight after I've been wearing it for a few hours). XD

Pants: the pants were made based on some pirate pants my husband had. His were actually a lot wider and the crotch was higher, so I just eyeballed everything and made my pants to be just a tad less baggy and with a lower crotch. I used a black suiting fabric for both the pants and top.

Top: I loosely based my pattern off of the top of Simplicity 4249, but I changed it so that the under bust line was straight across (and the band under it is taken out entirely), the shape of the collar is different, and it zips up in the back rather than have an opening or seam in the front. I made the top so that it would basically act as a chest binder as well, and I did this by adding a layer of craft foam in the front to act as a firm padding, and the back pieces were cut on the bias so they would have some stretch to them for comfort. I cut out and sewed on the gold satin fabric for the edging before sewing the pieces of the top together.

The white scarf thing is essentially a tube of white crepe fabric I had on-hand. It's two layers sewn together and the seam is in the back. I took in the seam so it'd make an angle (so the top is a little smaller and the bottom is wider).

I had made his jewelry and his wand, but I plan to re-make them before the next time I wear the costume because they were rushed and I didn't like the method I used. I used a thick piping and covered each piece in the same gold satin that was used on the top's trim. They velcro together, but the piping is so thick that it's not as flexible as I'd like it to be. Much thanks to my husband though for helping me a bit on the bracelets because I didn't think I would have time to finish them. The gems on the necklace and wand (not pictured) were resin-casted myself.

(you cannot see it but I tattered the edge of my brown skirt and wore a white slip, and was barefoot! staying true to character)
(dear gawd my hair, I made it as fluffy and messy as possible and it was so not fun detangling it that night!)

Our friend makes such a great Schmendrick, he is kind hearted and at times unintentionally goofy just like the character...

Customer commission of her "hell pony" vainglory. Braided wire core tail (has a nice swing to it) hand wefted hair, ears on springs, LED eyes (not lit) vision out the neck, semi-poseable wings which attach via magnets (pocket inside shoulders holds inner magnet plate in place) eyelashes are made from feathers snipped from my silky rooster's chest. The cast resin antelope horns are from Magpie Bones, all the rest is hand made by me.

This also has a simple unicorn horn made upon customer request... but in all honesty she looks best with the pair of horns, I had to widen her forehead to accommodate them and without the antelope horns she looks odd.

Thanks so much to my friend Crystal for going out and doing this improvised shoot with me! We got cat called quite a bit from a couple of dudes in the apartments across the street, awkwaaaard. XDDD I edited this pic to sorta emulate the color palette of the original Disney movie :3

I was originally going to wear Tinkerbell to ACen, but decided against it because of the wings, and also since I rearranged my original plans so that I can volunteer at the Funimation booth. Yaaaaaaay! Finally another MLP design! the customer and I worked together to create this Pinkie Pie mash-up pinafore It's a combo of normal Pinkie Pie and her Gala dress. It even has matching bows that she's gonna attach to her gloves and stockings. I can't wait to see it all dressed up!

On a Pony note, I hope to at least get my Rainbow Dash finished over the next week so that it will finally be available once my store opens! I've had the vinyl for it for aaaages!

Anywho, this pinafore features felt bows and a printed vinyl cutie mark ^_^ It wraps all the way around and has a giant bow on the back! (Rarity would approve)

Howl's Moving Castle - A heart for two

Hello hello~

_{Here with some new work! Finally found the chance to cosplay from Howl's Moving Castle, was really a lovely time! Gorgeous travelled down to Australia so we snapped up the opportunity to shoot together! With our friend we went out to this beautiful Lavender farm, it is a really gorgeous place to visit and we all had a great day despite the heat!

The costume was nothing too tricky to make! The material was sometimes a little fiddly to work it! I finished quite in advance for once but after seeing costume progress, I started again to better much her which threw me behind schedule a little orz ;;;

Thank you again as always to for being truly great and shooting, travelling with us and enjoying the day! To for being my beautiful Sophie, I am really glad we got to shoot and you were able to see a beautiful location!

I've been wanting to make a Q-bee costume for the longest time. However, when I first thought about making it (2003-2004) I didn't feel as if I could do it justice. Now 10 years later I felt I was up for the challenge. I always wanted to have the black eyes like her, so I sucked it up and bought sclera lenses. Totally worth it. (Yes! Those are contacts, they are not photoshopped in!) She is one of my absolute favorite characters, and I feel like she doesn't get enough love.

The wings are made from wire and pantyhose with acrylic paint for the veins. I think these could have been done better, I made them 3 days before the con.

Everything was pretty much made with a 4 way stretch foil dot spandex. The yellow details are made with stretch velvet. I really wanted to go with a shiny fabric because insect's exoskeletons have a sheen to them. I'm happy with the contrast between the 2 fabrics. The antenna on the wig are made with crayola model magic and wire. The eyes are just foamies covered in fabric. The bee-butt is made from the spandex and stuffed with newspaper and polyfil.

The giant fork and knife were just kitchen wall decorations that I found online. They are metal too!

Joining my Timelord Bow series will be Matt Smith Same as my David Tennant design, it will be made from the matching fabric used on my Matt Smith suiting pinafore and also features a timey-wimey clock accent. That way it can be worn together with the pinafore as a full costume or alone as a cute lolita bow <3
