Secret is Out!

Okay I promised myself the costume would be a secret until I finished my wig...Well guess what I finished yesterday!

My secret cosplay is Cloud from Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core.

I put so much work into this wig...you do not understand -.-.....This is actually two wigs sewn together. I ordered two Magnum Longs from Arda Wigs and tore one of them apart. I took the wefts from that one and sewed them into the other one. (This wig weighs more than you could imagine.)

Arda is quickly becoming my preferred wig provider ^^ I was so happy with the quality of the fibers.

Now onto 's Zack wig!

Cosplay breakdown

Wig- Arda Wig's Magnum XL in Slate Blue (010)... It went through a heavy styling process but I was please with my end result.

Corset- this bugger kills me each time...This is my 2nd time remaking the corset. I ended up altering an overbust corset so that the bra cups would be shaped correctly. The blue turtleneck part was sewn onto the corset and attached by the self made black bias tape. After adding in 44 eyelets in the front, I made the mock corset tieups in the front. The cosplay actually ends up lacing up in the back and successfully works as a corset.

straps- The fabric was bought on clearance from Joanns, but the straps were super easy to make, I just pulled it around me and cut and sewed as needed. The pendant was made from craft foam and was attached.

Sleeves- made of Rayon Challis from Hancocks, they are so friggen comfy. I actually took 's idea and places a piece of craft foam at the top to keep the sleeves from falling down.

Arm Armor- Mostly made from 5mm craft foam, but the center is a large resin gem that I casted and painted gold so it looks translucent.

Gloves- Bought from Welovecolors.com and then ended up making fingerless myself (I still have to add on the bias tape around the fingers) there is bias tape sewn on around the back of the palm into the square like it's suppose to be

Sashes- the white sashes are 4 separate pieces of the rayon fabric sewn on directly to the skirt

Skirt- made from a suit fabric that I bought at Joanns. I drafted the pattern myself and honestly just winged it.

Shorts- Actually was originally part of the entire leggings, I ended up cutting them apart and using the shorts after I hemmed it to the right length

Leggings- see above.... After it was removed, I actually took some pieces of craft foam and wrapped it around the leggings so that I could successfully glue them to my pantyhose and have them sit at the right place.

Shoes- The base shoes were bought off of eBay. With the help of I had actually drafted up the first version of the shoe armor using 5mm and 3mm craft foam. After Matsuri though, I had to redo the shoe armor, so I used the basic knowledge that Kio had shared with me. The shoe armor actually velcros on so it's easy to take on and off as needed.

Keyblade- let me tell you about this keyblade.... The Stroke of Midnight is the keyblade that Aqua received from the Castle of Dreams stage (Cinderella world).... Since Cinderella has been my big cosplay plan for the year I thought it'd be super cute to do her keyblade as a prelude. Honestly though, I could NOT have made it without the help of my big brother

Here is Tani's feet paws all done and ready to prance around in! The bottom has crepe on them, and no, it's not the delicious food. Crepe is basically the rubber they use for shoe soles. With this i can walk around outside with no worries!.....well maybe mud or water, but it keeps the bottoms from wearing down.

Costume Breakdown:
Boots- Normal Combat boots bought from an Army Surplus Store
Pants- EMT work pants, I ended up also getting this from the Army Surplus Store
Holster- The holster was a normal Beretta 92f harness that I bought offline and ended up having to alter the straps so that they fit correctly.
Belts- 2 inch thick nylon belt from the army surplus store. The other belt was just a plain belt from walmart
Shirt- I actually found a really really good ribbed blue fabric from my local Hancock's a couple of months back and I just had to buy it for Jill. Since then I have not been able to find the exact fabric... But I ended up drafting my own princess seam shirt pattern and it worked overall pretty well for what I needed.
Beret- Bought off of eBay
Patches- both patches were bought off of eBay and irons/sewed onto the shirt and the beret. And on the back of the shirt, it does actually have S.T.A.R.S embroidered onto it
Samurai Edge- I ended up having to hunt it down online, but it honestly looks and weighs just like the real thing.
Harness- The harness is two layers of 5mm craft foam stacked on top of one another, surrounded by cotton, and then covered in some scrap navy fabric I had laying around. The collar is just a piece of 2mm foam also covered in the scrap fabric. The rivets were put in by me. And the rest of the harness is nylon belts that I bought and altered to my size.
