This Pink Ball Gown is for Traci Hines "Part of Your World" Music Video. [link]. For the pink gown Traci stressed that she wanted it to look more like a period gown, so I pulled from all my favorite era’s of fashion. I designed the corset from the Edwardian era, with a pigeon chest and a small waist. The sleeves are slash and puff sleeves from the Renaissance and Tudor period. The skirt is more of the Rococo era with hip panniers and a bustled back. Traci chose her favorite fabric and trims to make it all happen! I wanted to make sure that this costume didn’t look like a “cosplay” costume. If you remember the scene where she gets the gown, she did not have someone make it for her, they most likely had it in one of the royal closets so she could borrow it. "TracPerhaps it was one of Eric’s Mother’s dresses? Instead of using pure whites, I used antique colors like champagne to replace the whites.
Making the dress was truly magical! It came together in two days! I had the help of Katie Mitchell dying trims, finishing hems, and cutting fabric for me. Traci was on details, sewing pearls and gluing rhinestones. Even our director Raiya was making trips to the fabric district to pick up notions to finish the gown! We were like the little mice in Cinderella, working to make a princess gown! After it came together we were all relieved to see that it had turned out beautifully. (we were shooting it the next day).

The head weighs about 8-10lbs, and features a fully movable jaw and a tongue that can wag. There is a small slit under the tongue for the body parts of the Dentist to 'disappear' into.
The neck is tee-shirt material and covers the puppeteers body, which gives this puppet head a full range of motion. It is fast, animated and lightweight; everything you want in a puppet!

The front legs/roots are sleeves that slip over the legs and move with the performers legs as he/she sits on the pot, which is just a round base covered with foam.
The design of this puppet allows for the company using it to have he legs in front e mobile, in which case the performer sits on the side of the pot as shown here, OR the performer can stand on the pot, giving the puppet even more height! In the resting position with the head tilted up, this puppet stands slightly over 6ft. The puppeteer, when seated can raise the head in this position up to close to 7ft. Standing would only add to that height. This is Natella's outfit from the beginning of the show, where she is coming home from Easter Services before the revolution. I love this top pattern, it's my fav thing I've done this year.

I definitely would love to make a tutorial for drafting this type of top, what do you think? It's rather complicated, but still really pretty, I think. Despite the fabric.

Our most recent show, with which I had many, many beefs (mostly, because the theme was "Oriental" *shivers*)

This is the outfit of the woman who leaves her child behind in her flight from a revolution. She is a horrible woman, who is only worred about herself and her wardrobe.

This show really stuck it home that cheap (JoAnn's) satin brocade should not exist! It looks tacky on stage, and it's so ugly to work with. I still have glitteries all over my stuff from this show.

Anyways, onto more about the outfit. Self drafted pattern, I think I was the only person in the whole damn build not to use a commercial bath robe for their outfit (seriously - since when did any designer ever say "I want Chinese-ish! Lets buy some bathrobe patterns!"... oh wait, that's exactly what my designer said -__-; ) Not only is it shiny, but it is caked in trim. I never, ever want to have to put that much trim on a costume ever again, especially of these types. This fursuit has chest and arm padding as well as digitigrade padding in the legs.

The tail and spot on the back is white fur painted yellow because I wanted the tail to be in a longer pile fur than the body and yellow fur in the proper texture, shade, and length does not exist.

The wrinkles are because I (a slim female) was modeling a costume intended for a grown man. ]]>
