The antlers are fakes, cast off of real antlers and then painted. They are held to the skulls with screws and are easily removable for transport or storage.

The brown fur is extremely short piled, and all of the seams are visible. I would have been better to sew it, rather than glue it, but I was eager to see the finished product.

I tried to make him look somewhat femme, since deer are very delicate looking, but still male. I think it worked well.

Fake Replica Antlers

I've finally made a nice surround view of my replica antlers photographed in natural light.

I had to rescuplt 2 tine tips of this particular pair after they broke due to a flaw in the plastic after I had finished and painted them.

I drilled a hole in the end and epoxy glued a wire in. After it set I sculpted the tip from epoxy clay and then sanded it after that dried and then had to reprime and repaint the antlers

magician-the Halter top is black satin, white linen collar, white anchor detailed buttons, and a simply sweet bow tie

i tried to capture the magician tuxedo effect

Takiko Okuda FY Genbu Kaiden Preview

This is a preview photo courtesy of Octography until I get my private shoot photos back from LCP.

The pink under robe was drafted from a suit jacket pattern. I made it longer and then tailored it to fit. I also drafted the collar piece. The gold trim was sewn on after the robe was finished. The robe zips up the back.

The black robe was also drafted by me. It is lined in yellow and trimmed in gold dragon trim. The hexagons are yellow satin and olive poly shantung. They're satin stitched onto the robe.

The gold overskirt was drafted by me as well. It closes with a zipper in the back. The hexagons are the same as the black robe and are satin stitched on. The purple ribbons are attached to the overskirt and really do tie on the sides. The genbu medallion was painted free hand. The large pink balls are ping pong balls I painted pink by puncturing them with a push pin and then stringing them over a dowel rod.

The head piece was built onto a headband with craft foam and covered in black fabric. The large diamond and green gem were resin cast by me, and the smaller pink gems are glass decor gems painted with pink nail polish. The two paintings on the headpiece are Suzaku and Byakko. The ping pong balls are the same as hanging from my skirt. They were punctured, strung, and painted while hanging from a dowel. The tassels were purchased, and I managed to find real jade beads!

The shentso-pao was sculpted with Sculpey in Jewelry Gold. I found gold beads that matched her references exactly. I even included the little beads that dangle from the necklace.

The wig was a simple brown wig I got on eBay. I just cut bangs into it.

The contact lenses are Vassen Queen Bambi Brown.

These costume horns are my first attempt at antlers. Overall, I'm pleased with how they turned out, and I learned a few things that will make it easier to craft a more "life-size" set. Still, I think deer-style horns will be easier to craft than elk or moose horns, but I look forward to trying those, too.

Christmas Reindeer Costume

A bit blurry but you can see most of my Reindeer costume, including the "horrific to wash off" facepaint. I even made a little Bambi-style tail!

Christmas day was spent doing volunteer work in a Sue Ryder home for patients suffering with Multiple Sclerosis and neurological conditions. Next year will definitely be spent the same way, such a rewarding experience.
