I was completely and utterly obsessed with the BJD hobby a few years back and then when I started studying seriously I just didn't find the time for it and it slipped from my mind. My dolls have been sold off one by one since then but I kept my favorite. She didn't have a name and I had removed the face up I made so she was just in a box, ready for the day when I'd want to play with her again.

So, this is the introduction of lucky little Lucy. My soft grunge girl.

My Little Paramore Pony -Riot

I finished. =O

I started this a while ago, but I procrastinate. A lot. You don't even know. XD
So this is designed off of Paramore's Riot CD. I pretty much added the splatters so it wouldn't be so bland. It does give it a bit of a 'grunge" feel. I don't know how much that would apply to Paramore, though.
And yes, this pony's long hair was supposed to look som what like Hayley's. It's Pumpkin Spice from DollyHair.com. I'm not sure how visible it is, but I added on extra hair plug, and a very short piece of hair in the front.

I'm getting started on my next pony. She'll be a dragon/dragon themed one. Then my third will be Tak from Invader Zim in her human form.

Please excuse my horrible camera. >.<

Either it is from a child's nightmare or a teen goth's favorite plush toy, not really sure yet. I had originally set out to make him a disturbing looking as I could yet still with a child's toy feel to it but he is just so darn cute he looks more like something from a Lolita Goth's book shelf.

Marzyć is a rag doll with a rigid internal wire frame. His wings are polymer clay and wire armature. He was all hand sewn with a heavy cotton cloth and he has pushpins to accent his heart and facial features. I made his "feathers" to resemble bone and I was particularly happy with how they look.

He is freestanding at 9 inches tall and his wingspan is a little over 13 inches.

For now I'm leaving him as is but I might grunge him up to make him look more evil if someone doesn't claim him as is.

About 26 hours of work, learned a lot.

Finally some original work. The first dude is entitled 'History's Spine' [his story's spine], and the girl is 'Backlog'... though their informal names are Kurt and Cyndi... cuz somehow, the 90s grunge look happened for the boy (so he looks like Kurt Cobain), and then I was randomly looking at pics of Cyndi Lauper and decided to make a cute dress inspired by her style.

Actually, Cyndi was originally going to have the wacky 80s glam rock hair, with shaved sides cuz I was going to make a temple on her temple...but then, it wasn't really working so I just did the same for her as Kurt. Her book is smaller and black, so it reminded me of a diary..hence the 'log' in the title.

The idea of book spines being aligned with human spines has been a run-on theme of mine since 2010. I've done a bunch of drawings and I even made a performative object of a book that you can wear on your back. It has all this lovely symbolism, like how the stories of our lives are not meant for our eyes, but rather for others. It can be seen as a burden, but also a support, leaving us vulnerable and yet strangely empowered if you carry it with pride.

The pages are left blank in the case of these plushies, cuz it's up to the owner to fill them up. What would you write on the book you carry on your spine?

Tired from our rigid journeys to round up the world’s 100 Beast Buddies, we granted ourselves a day off to go check out the circus. While we were stuffing our faces with giant-sized corndogs and extremely overpriced sodas, we wandered into a sideshow tent that boasted the ‘world’s smallest fuzzy freak’. Our curiosity was stoked when we saw the creature juggling his own eyeballs while whistling ‘90’s grunge music with chilling accuracy. At that very moment of our captivated awe, the little guy sneezed and his eyes rolled under the feet of an onlooker and were crushed! His ringleader fired him on the spot and we offered him a loving home. He gratefully joined the Beast Buddies crew and since loosing his sight he has picked up playing piano. He’s darn good, too!

Pullip: Sheryl's Berenice

Berenice is a full custom Pullip character created by the multi-talented Sheryl who I've been working with for over a year now. She also designed a matching Taeyang called Bullet, that I will upload later. These two dolls are set in an apocalyptic future and feature this really cool design with lots of different influences like steampunk. I love it! It's a pleasure to work for someone so creative as Sheryl.

My job here was to make the logotype (up), one full body marker illustration of Berenice (left) and three sets of cg chibis (right). She then uses them for the sale page on her website: [link]

for a music themed custom swap at the mlparena.com I present Grunge Star

The song I chose from the person's list was "In Bloom" by Nirvana. Normally I don't care for grunge, but I do like the occassional Nirvana song and this one quickly inspired this custom. Going along with the whole concept of grunge she doesn't follow the "pony rules". Her symbol is the chorus scrawled across her body. her colors are mottled green and blue with an overlaid red star. I added a disconnected red star around one eye and eyeliner around the other. The hair is blue and black with a green forlock. She doesn't much care what the other ponies think of her - she has her own sense of style.

the lyrics on her are

Grungy Babydoll was a custom request from TrashedBabydoll on Etsy.com.
This My Little Pony has been redesigned to look like grunge princess Courtney Love. She has black mary janes, a tiara, a skirt, and a cute little bow. She was rerooted with Buttercreme from Dollyhair.com. The bow and shoes were made with Sculpey, and the tiara and skirt are found pony accessories. This is the first time I've attempted bangs on a pony! She was a lot of fun to make. ^^

I'm great with titles...

Anyway, this is a little plush felt doll of one of my favorite musicians, Kurt Cobain, about 7 inches tall. It took me approximately 2 hours to make. I hand-sewed it and used my own patterns.

It's my first plushie! I was greatly inspired by ~deridolls

You can ignore my face in the first picture.

Another old pic - man, do I do anything creative at all any more?

This time it's custom 12" figures of Gen 13! There was a time when I was big into making customs of 12" figures - even joined a few message boards for them. Mostly I made G.I. Joe customs (check my website), but occasionally I broke out of the mold with something new. "New" in this case being May of 2004.

Burnout, Rainmaker, Lynch, and Fairchild use the existing 12" costumes, heads, and hands with new bodies, while Freefall and Grunge took a little more work. Freefall's head comes from a Joanna Dark figure, while the costume was pieced together from purchases I made. (Socks are original, though! ;-P) Grunge's costume was hand-sewn, probably badly, by me. Also made stencils to get his tattoos on - yes the ying/yang is on his back as it should be.

Final Major Project for Foundation Art this year.
Before I go to university to specialise in Graphics and Illustration, I wanted to play around with materials.
This came about Thanks to previous projects throughout the year as well as some very personal issues I've had to cope with, this was my way of getting those feelings out of me, the result? something quite unique which I would have never have thought possible.

The textures were added later on with the use of these superb paper textures by `Princess-of-Shadows, Many thanks for creating these wonderful pieces.

Bruce is an original creation monster made without a pattern and from an original design...He has a cloth calico body that has been specially stained to look grungy with a coffee and walnut stain...His body is made from a art textured fabric that uses layering, ripping, burning...to creative a unique punk grunge textured look...He has metal parts that have been upcycled from our farm shed....chains, bolts, screws...barbed wire and other little surprises ....aged and rusted and worn to perfection. He has leather strips....

He is a n awesome cool dude...Not suitable for children...but I can imagine just the thing for some teenager with angst aplenty!

Bruce is 32 cm high or about 32" and is quite weighty due to the metal parts.

Please note that Bruce has rusted aged parts, ripped and exposed seams as this is the look I was going for.

I am a New Zealand Doll, Bear and Plush artist...who creates whimsical and weird and creepy creations from home in my studio on our working sheep station in the high country of New Zealand. We are isolated and my world is mainly filled with the bush, mountains and animals that share our world.......I love to recycle, upcycle or re purpose old items and vintage fabric and finds....I find the prospect of creating something new from cast offs wonderful and exciting......

I have been creating creatures from the time I was a child...it is my love and passion and I hope you enjoy my work....
