Feather has had her mane placed up into a bun and I have given her a bead and crystal pink pendant hair piece at the back.
She wears a gold crystal and white bead crown with curled dyed feathers in pink and blue and white and normal peacock feathers, the main white peacock feather at the front has pealized puff pen markings and a red crystal.
she wears a pink peaded necklace.
I have re-painted her eyes in shades of blue and varnished them to make them shine.
Her markings are of white peacock feathers with gold and blue eyes and her wings are Sword Peacock feathers with the eyes, which are the side feathers from a peacock tail. Hope you all like her.

Christiana gave me free reign in making her pendant. Among her favorite things was feather and that was where my inspiration coming from. Done in Argentium silver with copper accent. New type of border wrap too since she wanted the heart to show more than my usual. I broke one blade making this. It's been a while since I broke them blades so I suppose I ain't that bad after all. lol.

This pen was created from a Snow White Turkey Quill with added crystal faux gem accents. The whimsical Dragon’s Tail is hand painted in silver & white running the entire length of the main quill, and the pens writing shaft is wrapped in sparkly silver leather, and then cross-hatched with fine silver wire.

The Size: 12+ inches.

CRISMON DRAGON Feather Pen

This is a feather quill pen I crafted out of a Crimson Red Turkey Quill with soft & floofy ebony black ostrich plume backing. It has a reclaimed black mink base wrap with a bronze leather & wire wrapped shaft, gold-plated ferrule (which allows for the inter-change of writing nibs), and a vintage 14k gold nib. I painted the Crimson Dragon in shades of red, gold, and black and added a Chinese coin for luck & ribbon accent with Czech glass accents.

This is an old thing, one of my first things I ever made of silver. Made atleast a year and a half ago.

Sterling silver, sawed from 1mm sheet. ~2 cm long.
I sandblasted the feather-part, but it wasn't properly stored afterwards and got all scratsy and not-so-shiny on the shiny parts. So I polished it again and allmost all of the sandblasting got away and I didn't bother to do it again.. I think it looks fine as it is now.

The main feather on this quill is a Handpainted Turkey Feather with a medley of millinary feather accents in purple & violet, with a wispy black ostrich plume backing. There are 6 inset swarovski crystals, and a lovely gold scrolling flourish along the entire main feather, and has a beautiful re-claimed ebony mink base wrap. The quill's shaft is wrapped in black leather with cross-hatching in gold, and is fitted with a silver-plated ferrule.

The beaded accent on this pen holds a pretty inlaid Snowflake Focal drop with a gorgeous vintage gold brass Goddess fitting to depict the Norse Goddess Freya along with ebony swarovski crystals, and silver & gold flamed wings.

another experimental cake!

I wanted to experiment using wafer paper for cakes when it was all the craze, but it a different way.

So I worked out how to make feathers out of the wafer paper and fixed them to floristry wires and made an edible feather wreath for around the cake (well.........edible except for the floristry wire)

I also made a tiny dragonfly on top out of swarovski crystals and tiny wafer paper feather wings

Uncommonly Large for a folding knife, the unusual Blade Profile comes from a tracing I made of a wing-tip feather from a Hawk. I found the Feather while walking in the Spring Hills of Watsonville, California. Forgive me for not having a photo of the feather itself, alas,
for it has been lost.

The Fourth Knife of my apprenticeship to KnifeMaker, Larry Detloff of Santa Cruz, California.

Finally got the last touches done on this bad boy. Like I said in the journal, saw one like it at the ren-fest and didn't have $2300 to buy it from the guy, so I got it in me tiny head to make one,
not like 50+ hours is a big project or anything.
However, after that many hours up to my arm pits in feathers...apparently I am slightly allergic to feather dander, spent a while all puffy, but its all good. I got a full length feather cloak.!!!!
Hope the leaves in my hair aren't too bad.
Now I'm off to make an Elizabethan dress/corsette combo to go with the cloak.

My first feather painting! YAY!! Random subject: Prince of Persia. I've done this just for pratice, but now I can say I love to paint on feathers. I've been very lucky to find a good site where buy feathers, here in Italy no one is smart enough to sell them. The only ones I've able to find was Carnival feathers. The painting is more clear than what you can see in the photo, but this is the best I've take.

The feather is long 18 cm (quill included), painted with acrilycs. If you're interested to commission me one of these, send me a note!

EDIT: I'm reuploading this because I completely redid the strap on the goshawk one. I really didn't like how sloppy the simple strap looked, so I spent several hours last night teaching myself how to braid strap and do terminal knots. Terminal knots are a pain in the butt to learn! But very worth it Now that I'm happy with the strap, I'm making it available.

I couldn't resist making more leather feather bracelets! Some of these I made specifically for the RAWards show yesterday. I have a couple others, which I ran out of time to photograph, so for now these are the ones I'm uploading.

Clockwise from top left: Barn Owl, Magpie tail, Northern Goshawk tail, and Blue Jay. The goshawk has a leather cuff, and the blue jay has a sterling silver chain :0 I'm trying to use more non-allergic materials, such as leather cuffs and sterling. Sterling is more expensive, but so pretty

This is the Kestral crafted out of a Speckled Ocelated Turrkey Quill (NOT a real Hawk Feather), with duck feather accents. I painted golden scrolls along the length of the main quill, and added inset crystals along the feather shaft for a bit of Faery Magick.

I forgot to upload this one somehow! This is a different take on the leather feather bracelets, with three small feathers instead of a solid leather cuff. This bracelet can be worn either loose or tight, with one feather dangling. The chain is sterling silver, and the wrapped wire is silver-coated. I'm going to try to make more like this, using other 'small' feathers :3

Celtic Winged Werewolf Feather

The "winged werewolf" (canis lupus triniteus), native to Ireland was said to come to the aid of lost hunters and warriors. Standing upright like a man, running on all fours like a wolf, or soaring the skies like an eagle, this rare and beautiful canine has been said to be extinct for over three hundred years, yet rumors of this werewolf roaming towns at night to protect villagers have spread...

This feather is a gift for my friend for her birthday. Enjoy!

This original leather hair slide features a somewhat abstract peacock feather fan design. It was hand cut and sculpted from high quality tooling leather. Next it was embossed and hand painted in shimmering shades of teal, emerald, bronze, royal blue and indigo. The color has been sealed with a protective top coat, and then accented with an assortment of hand cut and glued peacock feathers. At the center is a vintage glass cabochon, set in a row of glass seed beads.

I had another idea, aside from just making feathers, I could make leaves, too. Obviously my focus will still be on leather feathers, but if anyone wants a special leaf, I can make those too!

This pen was created from a Snow White Turkey Quill which was handpainted to resemble a Snowy Owl Feather, and it sports some Royal Palm Turkey Fluff accent feathering along with a single white dove wing feather. It has white painted scrolls done along the length of the main quill, and the pens writing shaft is wrapped in creamy white roving, and then cross-hatched with silver & black threads.

This is the Lyric crafted out of an ebony black Turkey Quill, and then I painted golden scrolls along the length of the main quill, and added inset crystals along the feather shaft for a bit of Faery Magick.

Feather Wig Tutorial

I HAVE MADE FIRE!

...or possibly a wig. Yeah, yeah, the second one.

Just imagine me saying "I HAVE MADE A WIG!" in Tom Hanks' crazy voice from Castaway.

Anyway, here is Toma's wig from Aquarion. It should be pretty epic, even though it looks a little bushy. I might try spraying it with a bit of water to see if that makes it settle a bit.

MORE TIPS I FORGOT TO PUT IN THE DEVIATION!!
Don't use very much glue per feather. You should end up using about half of one of the large glue sticks... if that. Just put enough glue on each feather to make it stick; don't glob it on.
The higher you go, the fewer feathers you'll want to glue to the wefts. This is a wig, not a cheerleader's pom-pom. Also, you'll want to put shorter feathers up top and longer ones down below. Remember, though, as you glue on the feathers, that you don't want to see the wefting or the cap of the wig itself through the feathers! Make sure the head is entirely covered with feathery goodness.

Its base is wrapped in hand dyed ribbon, with a glass bead finger rest. This pen comes with a fitted Hunt Crow Quill #102 Vintage Nib which is bonded firmly to the feathers shaft. Filigree feather 2

Filigree pendant made with sterling silver

I learned to make filigree last November. I had a lot of fun making filigree! It's pretty simple to make, it only requires a lot of patience and time. Some students thought it was a really frustrating technique, I found it very relaxing.

So here is the first pendant I made, it's not perfect since it's only the second time I made something with filigree but I think it's cute

J'ai appris à faire du filigrane en novembre dernier. J'ai eu beaucoup de plaisir à apprendre cette technique. C'est une technique assez simple, il faut seulement beaucoup de patience et de temps. Plusieurs étudiants trouvaient que c'était très frustrant, j'ai trouvé ça plutôt relaxant.

Donc, voici le premier pendentif que j'ai fait avec cette technique. Il n'est pas parfait étant donné que c'est seulement la deuxième fois que je fabrique un bijou avec du filigrane, mais je l'aime bien.
