It took me around an hour or two to make this little guy. XD He's definitely the smallest thing I've ever crocheted in my life so far. :3

It was my personal little challenge to see if I could make insanely small amigurumi, and I'm quite pleased, though taking its picture was tough to do with a camera that just wouldn't cooperate. (It doesn't even have a macro shot option.)

He's sitting on the pad of my left index finger, and I included a picture of what he looked like from the back. :3

I hope you guys enjoy it~
I won't be making too many micro amigurumi, but I may again in the future if I want a challenge. XD

P.S - that tree in the top photos was covered in about 37,000 bees. But I really wanted it for the background, so I risked it (not that they cared about me when there were all those flowers). We do take time and effort to try and plan compositions/backgrounds for these. I love using natural outdoor lighting but it can be a pain to work with sometimes. (We also have indoor studio lighting that we set up, but honestly I still like outdoors ) ]]>

A Clockwork Scorpion sculpture made completely out of recycled watch parts.


The body is made from antique watch faces (dials) that have been cut, shaped, sanded and soldered together into body segments.

The tail is also made with watch dials that have been soldered onto a watch spring, then soldered from the back. Watch stems and stem knobs decorate as well as strengthen the tail. The stinger is a watch winding stem.

The pincers and pincer arms are from curved, cut, sanded, and soldered watch faces and strap springs.

The legs are made of strap springs, along with small watch stems for the feet.

There is no glue or resin to be found in the piece...everything is soldered into place with metal. This is a one of a kind work of art, never to be exactly reproduced.

Dimensions: 39mm wide by 65mm front to back 60mm tall He comes with a 3" by 4" glass dome with walnut base for display. He is extremely fragile and should be handled sparingly and very gently, and is most definitely not a toy.

Based on Asian dragon motifs, I made this my own creation by using a unique technique of leather sculpting that I have pioneered.

The mask is carved out of several pieces of 8oz leather, three times the thickness of most Venetian-style leather masks. This allows me to carve the leather deeply, but requires me to shape the entire sculpture by hand with no use of molds or armatures.

It is first dyed all black, then painted with colorfast acrylics by hand in black and violet. Then, I dry-brushed special violet interference acrylic medium over the mane and scales. On the black mane, it creates a shimmering purple which shifts from black to purple depending on the angle. On the pale violet scales it adds a shimmer of deeper violet that intensifies or decreases in different light and at different angles.

Needless to say; this mask is going to be LOADS of fun to wear. As you move, the color will shimmer like the wings of a raven. It's pretty intense.

This is a "fantasy" raven, and though it's hard to tell there is purple iridescence on the crest, as well as the more obvious labradorite gemstone set into the forehead. I hand set about a billion (okay, maybe 300 or so) feathers into the crest and throat of this raven.

While I did model it for these terrible rushed photos, this is not mine, and was done for an anonymous client. It was super windy and I was having the devil's own time getting self portraits with the timer on my camera. I'd get better photos but I've since sent it out. ]]>

My customer asked me to design a dark fantasy costume. Plumes of black feather peak out from the tops of the corset, gloves, and thigh high boots. Creating a smoky look using black brocade on the front of the corset with crinkled silver at the sides. We added shadowy details of stenciled lace around the edges of the chiffon skirt. The whimsical cut of the hi-low skirt showcases the boots beneath. ]]> [link]

This baby's head and paws are casted in resin from an original sculpture, painted with acrylics and sealed with matt varnish for a better durability. Body is hand sewn polar fleece and a beautiful pastel rainbow faux fur , filled with soft stuffing fiber and sand to give him weight and a good balance.

This one is semi armatured. This means it have an armature inside from the head to tail tip so the spine can be bent in any direction. But please, note that the legs aren't.
I used a plastic ball and socket armature on this doll. This kind of armature is specially made for poseable dolls and won't break as wire may do.

She's about 27 cm long. ]]>

Clockwork Spider No 26

Spider No 26 was made with recycled watch parts and an automotive light bulb.

In order to create the legs, forty-eight watch stems must be cut in different sizes to simulate the organic appearance of real spiders’ legs, which vary in size and shape between species. Each of these segments is carefully arranged into a leg and soldered at the joints with lead free, silver bearing solder. Each side of four legs is then soldered together at the base, forming what looks like a claw.

To make the body of the spider, two very small watch plates are soldered together with watch stem posts, forming a sort of chassis for the eyes and bulb to rest in. The eyes are made by layering and soldering together various stems and watch strap springs. An automotive light bulb is very carefully removed from its metal base and soldered to the body chassis by its lead wires. A “cap” of another watch plate forms the top of the spider. This spider an “antennae” made from a watch stem and a spring.

After the body is made, the leg assemblies are carefully arranged and attached by soldering. The legs and body are then manipulated in order to make the spider stand properly. All joints are then resoldered for added stiffness.

Spider No 26 measures 56mm wide by 50mm front to back by 25mm tall.

All creations made by A Mechanical Mind are one of a kind, never to be reproduced exactly. All parts are soldered, never glued. Each sculpture comes with a 3” wide by 4” tall glass display dome with wooden base. Sculptures are not toys and should be handled sparingly, as their parts are tiny and delicate.

This adorable, unique, hand sculpted, poseable, fantasy "Winged Baby Glass Dragon" is a rare piece of artwork being offered up for bid! This is a completely hand made fantasy creature. I hand sculpted the head and feet onto a posable skeleton that I made and wrapped with stuffing so its very soft. I then paint the clay parts with acrylics and small brushes.. Synthetic hand dyed fur.


There is not another creature like this in the world!

I've made a lot of things over the last 50 years, but I have to admit, this ranks among the best of my favorites. Queen Chrysalis stands 22" tall to the top of her head, which is to scale for 14" mane 6 ponies. She is made of minky, with organza wings, and a poly satin "saddle". She's got an internal frame and is pose-able, including her head. This is only my second plush, and I haven't even sold her yet, so I'm not quite ready to share all my secrets. But, I'll try to answer the questions that I feel comfortable with. Thanks for understanding
