Originally thought about making a snow white inspired necklace, but it turned out to be more of a dark / goth / vampire style necklace. And with all of the Twilight, Vampire Diaries and true blood watching i've been doing lately, i guess it just came from that.

Masquerade

I can't believe I haven't uploaded my Masquerade pics to DA yet!!! LOL

But anyways, this is what I wore to the SoCal Cosplay Ball back in May 2011. The dress was SO amazing to wear! ^_^ This actually isn't made by me. I borrowed this dress from the Warner Bros. Studios costume department. Supposedly they'll be using this dress in "Snow White and the Huntsmen" for Kristen Stewart. ^_^

My masquerade mask is an exact replica of the mask that Nina Dobrev wore as Katherine in "The Vampire Diaries". I'm also wearing Katherine's cameo necklace.

The headdress was made by me from a flower clip where I attached feathers and Swarovski crystals.

My first ever hat. I had hoped I'd be able to make it of fleece, but my fabric store didn't have snow leopard print fleece, so I used faux fur instead. Then used black fleece for the brim and white fleece for the inside of the ears.

Once upon a time there was a young princess, her heart as pure as fresh snow. She lived in a land far away, no one can still remember its name. There was a young man she deeply loved, and he promised to marry her the day of new years eve. She waited all day in the church for him, but he never came. She walked around, asking everyone about him, but no one knew where he was or what happened to him. Only one old woman had seen him walking away, hand in hand with another girl. So she realised he betrayed her and ran into the deep forest to search for him and make him explain why he left her this way. She walked around for hours, not able to find him, while it started to snow. She murmured all the way, shivering cause of the cold: “I need to find him! He has to tell me… Oh, I wish there was no heart in my breast so the pain would stop!” He tears became hard ice, running down her face, so her face was all covered by thick ice. The little fairies of snow flakes felt sorry for her and made her a thin veil of ice to hide her face from the wind, which got stronger and stronger. They were not able to heal her broken heart, so the covered it, like her face, with ice, so she would not feel the pain anymore, but also have no other feelings. No one can say if she ever found her unfaithful lover or not, but she for sure went on searching for him, and if he ever found him, he for sure became ice the moment she touched him. She wanders around, in cold winter nights, together with the snow flake fairies, her only companions. In snow storms you can hear then sing their clear melodies no voice can form but only frozen ice crystals and the wind. She has to hunt those, who are unfaithful and betray those, who love them, by touching them and freeze them. She has to go around till she finds someone, who is able to lift her veil and warm her heart, so the ice will melt, and she will be free again.

This story is inspired by an old story about a dead bride from German romanticism (I think it is neither popular nor well known…) and a Russian fairytale. The motive of “Wiedergänger” is very popular in literature, the most popular ones are vampires and zombies, I think! Another example would be Ophelia in some Shakespeare-receptions, I think about some German poems in special.

I also made the beaded snowflakes in the background; I made four different forms of them. I used some beaded snowflakes I found on ebay as inspiration, but in this forms I created them on my own. I wanted to have a lot of different types of snow flakes on her dress and in the background, and also to use different materials, beads and shades of white for this, to show how fascinating and complex snow is, and to capture a little of the beauty and uniqueness of snowflakes. Notes:
Black-and-white friendly! The only coloured part of the paperdoll is her face (and a tiny bit of colour in her skin). Her kimono sleeves are a nightmare to build, so I wouldn't recommend it to beginners. As well, her 'feet' are rather confusing, since you can't tell very well where the fold lines go. I just guessed. She has no proper feet, so the hem of the kimono holds her up, which means she doesn't need a stand.

Yuki-Onna was made using my China pattern and ~Furesia's Belarus pattern. Credit goes to にーび for the original patterns. I don't recommend using this pattern, since I made some custom alterations and therefore some proportions were screwed up, however if you still want to please give credit and leave me a link somewhere.

Yuki Onna (雪女, snow woman) is a spirit or yōkai in Japanese folklore. Yuki-onna appears on snowy nights as a tall, beautiful woman with long black hair and red lips. Her inhumanly pale or even transparent skin makes her blend into the snowy landscape. She sometimes wears a white kimono, but other legends describe her as nude, with only her face and hair standing out against the snow. Despite her inhuman beauty, her eyes can strike terror into mortals. She floats across the snow, leaving no footprints (in fact, some tales say she has no feet, a feature of many Japanese ghosts), and she can transform into a cloud of mist or snow if threatened.
What Yuki-onna is after varies from tale to tale. Sometimes she is simply satisfied to see a victim die. Other times, she is more vampiric, draining her victims' blood or "life force." She occasionally takes on a succubus-like manner, preying on weak-willed men to drain or freeze them through sex or a kiss.

Vamp Dress

This dress is in three parts, the red one, the black one and the corset, all of which can be used without the other.

Made in the end of 2004, (photographed in jan. ´05 when the first thick snow came, damn it was cold..but that was how I envisioned it, red on white....) for Luchiana Morrigan Cathnoir, my toreador vampire role I had been playing live a long time ago, but I have never forgotten her, she was my first long term role, besides there were words going around that a ball will be held where I could come back as Luca.

So I made the dress, I always wanted her to wear.

One more thing, there will be added beading. Small black beads all over the black dress, and in some parts of the corset. Red beads on the red dress just where it peeps out front from under the corset (can be seen in one of the other pics)

It's being a while I did not updated new picture of my precious Prince of darkness. With only his words he can seduce alot of women, maybe not all but this is his challenge. Cold as ice and crual, he's from the darkness, killing everyone when he want, taking their life he'll continue to walk into your shadow until you die.....

Sarah Chaal in the 'Red Boots' dream sequence outfit.
She wears a drawstring toped skirt ( 3 layers of white battist), and a lacetrimedcorset/bodice and the red boots she recieved as a gift from Graf Von Krolock.

Here she is standing on the stand of my 1996 Happi Hollidays, as it's the only stand I have. And Friday having been so badly windy, I didn't manage to prop her up otherwise - at least not looong enough to take some decent photos that is.

Look at that face, isn't she absolutly beautiful?
Only slightly repainted. I kept as much of her makeup as I could and construcktedd the rapaint around acordingly....
Really, one of the mostr beautyful doll faces I've ever seen. Even before reworking her.

But I must say one thing: I wouldn't want to stand out in the snow dressed like that. myself ...

Here he's dressed in his Ballroom clothes.
The trousers and the brokade waistcoat are still the same. But here he wears a pair of white chiffon stockings and a silver 'Lurex' (name of fabric) tailcoat.
Finished off by hi trademark galoshas.

Sorry, it's a bit dark. But as I said: it was snowing very hard while I was taking this....

Valentine Rose

Valentine is my new D&D character, a Tiefling Rogue. For those unfamiliar with the term, a Tiefling is part fiend. In Valentine's case, he is 1/4 fiend. He has red eyes, three-inch horns, and what I have termed "pulled taffy" ears. Because Elves are not too well known in our particular campaign setting, he tends to pass as one when he's got his Van Helsing/Vampire Hunter D-esque hat on to hide the horns.
