Starfield Costume Party

Okay, I wanted to these REALLY quick because first of all, I don't relaly hav emuch time to do this between now and Halloween, and second, I wanted to do a Halloween pic really realy really badly with my own characters.

Well, my characters have decided to dress themselves up as... well... eachother! They met up together and decided who will be who and switch appearances of the SFC crew. Mary Ann decided to go on as a tall, girly Johnny Polecat, and Wacked the Robo Ace decided to be a beefy Happy Face. If you don't know who these characters are, you haven't beena round my gallery long enough... It's time I start a SFC character guide.

I probably won't do any more at this point... I have a few things I must prepare for...

I didn't announce this, but Villain Month is back, this time with my own villain-a-day from Starfield Creations. I'll be posting a destructive creation of my own a day for all of October. So these are all my characters this month, folks.

We're starting off Starfield Creations Villain Month with the one and only evil twin, Scrappy Face. The dedicated master of all that is bad and not good. Along with his spherical sidekick, Robert the Robot at his side. What dastardly deed of creation has Scrappy wrought upon the Toon World THIS time?

The one you've all been waiting for, Clang, the master of al cartoons. Clang completes the starfield allstars. Who knows who's to come

Random Road, a place where anything could happen and probably might, but then again, it might not becuase they don't feel like making it happen. But then it usually does... Clang was once an aspiring actor, striving to survive within the golden age of cartoons, but once he finally got his big break, he instantly became a success. Clang has been around the toon industry for years, since cartoons began in fact. But now times are different, people don't appreciate cartoons like they were, that's why he opened up Tooniversity, a place where other young aspiring toons could come to learn the art of being a cartoon character. If only his own son, Shorty, would follow in his footsteps... but he's too much of an idiot... Which might explain Clang's cynical attitude.

Clang has mastered every art of animation, which is what he uses as his method of fighting. He can also transform into anything he desires, acting out and forming his hands to whatever he wishes. like hammers, anvils and the classic pie in the face. He is rather small in size, but that doens't stop him from being the best cartoon alive

Every pirate ship must have a captain, and this band of robotic pirates is led by the thieving, blackhearted, gold-grubbing sailor of the seven seas, Captain Steambuzz. Along with his trusted first mate, Tabitha, they scour the seas for the ultimate treasure. It just happens to be on the lone island that Swift, the lone island adventurer, happens to be set upon. Who knows what the dastardly pirate has up his sleeve (and though he may not be big on brains, he still has a powerful army at his side to booty... er, boot.)

As time goes, she had grown to be as evil as them, but why? Perhaps her feelings of finally finding a family of her own jolts her own judgment. Either way, she is a dangerous villain, and a formidable foe to Chances the Brave.

K is a psychotic axe murderer in the future with an odd vendetta against a superhero by the name of RGB... However, in the latest plot to destroy him, he actually succeeds in killing him, thus the city mourns his loss. K was apprehended soon afterwards, but then later escaped, only to be persued by a new group of hero(ines) who want to bring him to justice, they just don't realize how dangerous he really is.

In the quiet town of Blairton, there have been numerous reports of missing children in which some child witnesses have stated seeing a homeless man dressed in heavy, ragged cloth and a cart filled with rags carry them off into an abandoned house on a hill. While police have captured the suspect, many of the missing children have never been found, but the survivors could rest in peace knowing that the "Bagman" is now in jail.

However... Years later, a grown Thomas Bryson returns to his home town of Blairton, where the reports of missing children seems to have returned... And Thomas suspects that the Bagman has returned to his abandoned house of rags.

Now on to the next ocntestant, Video Gamer Leelee! A spunky lass who likes nothing more than a nice challenging video game. She is a little bit of a slacker, which is why she's often found more inside an arcade than at school. She's constantly pursued by her teacher, Ms. Lori, and is accompanied by her best friend and partner, Ducky.

To sum up her story, Leelee one day stumbled across an old China Junkshop, where this odd man gave her a magical Tamochigori-Key, a small digital pet, keychain which could let her travel into a video game! She often uses this advantage to go on everyday adventures with Ducky. Sometimes, she'll even be challenged by another person who has another Tamochigori-Key.

VG Leelee loves a good challenge, which makes her an excellent opponent. She usually studies the moves of her favorite video games, which is why her moves are very familiar to some. Often using her Tamochigori-Key, she could summon video game characters to do her bidding.

If you tell me he looks like EarthWormJim, you're going to get snuffed... See, the problem with people is that they don't understand the creativity I put behind these characters backgrounds... They WERE inspired by other stories, but they are completley original in their own right. You HAVE to see that... if not, you are a person striving to find originality far too hard... I don't come here to have "props"... I come here to display my imagination.

Wacked the Robo Ace was created by an intelligent hampster by the name of Peterson P. Hamp, whom Wacked calls "Petey" for short. He was originally created to become a fighting machine bent on helping Petey's strive for survival against the human race and ultimately use him for the purposes of evil. Unfortunetely, Wacked turned out to be the complete oppostie. While etey was unconscious during the creation of Wacked, he ultimately found a stash of comic books and desired to become a fighting hero instead. Unable to figure out the problem with Wacked, Petey let him become what he wanted to be, by getting funding to a local agency and created Wacked Headquarters.

Wacked relies mostly on his trusty handgun, which he called his Little Wacky, it does everything he wants, from firing laser weaponry to firing a hook to hoist him up a building. He is also very strong, which makes him rather easy to use.

SFCVM - Butch

Butch is the rival of truckers Forrest and Benny, whose sole purpose is to outdo everything they manage to do. He even goes to far as to steal the lovely Miss Penelope in hopes to make her his bride. He's a lunk-headed, two-fisted, brawny black bear ready to make any journey a tough one for the other bears.

Artist Comment: I don't mean to toot my own horn here, but I love how this image turned out.. why?... It's how I want my cartoons to look on tv... Especially how the background looks compared to the character. I dunno, what do you think?

Out of all the Superior army created by the malicious Victor Ghrim to wipe out all of earths existence, Panic is the most unpredictable. Built in the same manner, but something inside him snapped, making him even more chaotic than the others. Because of this, it's only a matter of time before he ultimately destroys himself, earning him the nickname "Ticking Timebomb." He's so psychotic, he even ripped off his own leg.

Every agent has his rivals, for Double O Parrot, it happens to be the maniacal Thunderbill, and evil duck enhanced by a mechanical suit. Tired of the monotony of every day life, Thunderbill took it upon himself to either rule the world, or destroy it. The only thing in his way, is the meddling agent.

Creation funfact: Double O Parrot actually started off as a 15 second, flash animated joke.

Owner of a very well known corporation, Thaddeus Trench is a man trapped in the shell of a cold machine due to his own greed and lust for power. Utterly despising the creation of robotics as he slowly dies from the power that had consumed him. When a strange new energy starts to envelope the Earth, he begins to plot ways to use this new found element for his own, desperate to become an immortal god as the world around him is consumed by the evil force. One thing is in his way however, the power of the Blue Crystal and the ones who will fight him to restore world peace.

However, since his escape, other experiments have been released to stop him, but at the same time "test" his skills. One of the most dangerous, known as Project: Cancer. A venomous creature with four spindly legs and a powerful arm with a poisonous jaw that causes tremendous pain.

Everybody and their mum's drawn God Tier Jade in the last two days, so I figured I might as well take a stab at it too because pretty. <3 As a bonus (...who kind of took over the picture), Davesprite! Totally didn't happen in canon, this scene you're looking at right here, but I like to think it did right before Jade commandeered her Prospitian battleship because man does that poor feathery dude need a hug.

*rubs eyes* oye.. up a little late, but I suppose I deserved finishing this. I'd planned on making a new design for Kimi, Starfield Creations' mascot (Hugey doesn't really need much re-design as you can see) So here she is! A little more cartoony styled, but I plan to keep the previous styles even though I really like how this one turned out.

I also have another styled concept sketch, I'll clean that up later.

This is my version of what happened after Boast Busters, NOT Trixie's dream about Twilight. Sorry about that.
Also my headcanon goes more or less like this:
* Trixie is not obsesses over Twilight.
* Trixie is not Twilight's sister.
* Trixie is looking for redemption, but not...
Well I'd rather not give away too much, in case I need it later.

Anyway, the comic was getting kinda huge so I decided to split it in two. (Can't decide whether I'm too lazy or just impatient.)
As always, comments are very welcome. Questions are encouraged.

Technical notes:
Again, the backgrounds are from other sources.
The first background is simply a cropped screenshot from S01E02.
The rest (except the lazy gradient backgrounds) are modified versions of [link]
For the last panel I remade the sky and made some other modifications. I also added some trees from [link]
The rejection scroll is this [link]

Software: Inkscape and a bit of The GIMP (I also wrote a program to generate the starfield at the end... er, let's leave it at this for now.)

Old old old old old character... and old design too, he needs to get a makeover. Anyway...

This is Trench, the main villain of Blue Crystal. He'll also be the major villain in Destination Starfield (with obvious change in style and appearance) but anyway... another quick sketch cause today I was just overflowed with work... I'm exhausted... and candied up a bit with lazy cheap airbrush effects.

I look at so many galleries and admired artists... I feel ashamed that I seem to be dwindling in talent the more the days go by.

Gee, look at that, an adventurer character in a mischievously defiant side-view pose with a huge starfield background! I think it's obvious that this is a picture I wanted to try out a lot of new things with.

...Yeah, I know, not the most creative of pictures coming from me, sorry. I just really wanted to draw an Eventide Something, mostly as an excuse to draw that scarf. I'm not really sure where the Moltaran/steampunk accessories came from, but I'm not complaining.

Um yes so just for the record this is no one. xD; I don't usually draw random anthro characters that I don't intend to use again, but when I do it's a curly-haired steampunk Eventide Draik. Apparently.

aww Lucas is so kindhearted he is a little sweetheart. Darkrai is one of the only legendary pokemon i like. he still doesnt know how he feels about traveling with Rave and Lucas, but he is warming up to them. Some time ago I was fortunate enough to colour this particular Casey Coller gem. I love the expression and character in his work that says all you need without any dialogue. After colouring it I added a starfield and atmosphere to give a bit of an homage to the IDW Spotlight Hotrod cover.

When I was done I got Simon Furman to sign a copy that I sent to Casey, little did I know that he'd be hitting the big time pretty soon anyway, although the evidence was staring me in the face.

Still one of my favourite pieces to colour - enjoy!

well this one took the better part of my 2 days off this week to complete. it started with the simple copic marker art i used a photo of a live model as reference for liono and changed it of course into the lord of thundera. then i scaned the final work into the computed and hand painted a starfield highlighted background for him in corel painter. i made i somewhat blured to give it some depth. i hink the final product came out quite well what to you think?

KICKSTARTER LAUNCHING 25TH JANUARY 2013!!!

Back in September, Art had me colour up some interior and promo posters for his new Kickstarter project relaunching his creator owned series "Chrono Mechanics - Potholes in the Cosmic Road" as a collected TPB.

I urge all and everyone to support this project. The entire thing is drawn and inked already by Art T, and I'll be doing the colours if Art T can secure the funding... So this what you can expect an interior page (all 48 of them) to look like! See all that Nebula/star stuff in the background..? I had to *manually* cut out the inked starfield that Art T had drawn in (he asked me to do so), - with a frickin' mouse - and then make the star field nebula you see here and paste it in!!!!

Ohhhh Boy It's Star Boy

this is I guess 4th in my series of super hero pin ups. I've always loved star boy from legion of super heroes he was so much like a muscle bear to me. and I was very inspired to draw him from an action figure I got from my boyfriend for Christmas.
this one was a little challenging because I used a new art program called artrage to color it with and was a little bit new to the brushes and the system. but I pretty much got out of it what I wanted.
to finish it though I had to download a free version of corel painter 12 because that's the coloring program that i'm use to.
but the line art was traditional here and the colors were all digital which is different from my other pinups which were done in markers. the starfield on this was the most fun to do. hope you like it.

So I thought to myself, "Maybe if I draw Raven in her new outfit, I'll learn to like it."

I don't know if it worked, but I had fun nonetheless.

I'd really like to know what everyone's thoughts about her new costume are OYL. I've seen mixed reations, some people like it, some absolutely hate it. What's your opinion? (It'll also let me know whether or not I should draw her in this outfit more often!)

Background starfield is from a set of brushes, as is that red sparkly thing. I fav all the brushes I download, and I'm quite certain you can find them if you browse my favs.

Title is based off a piano-song by David Lanz. It popped into my head while I was coloiring it, so yeah. There you go. Download the song. It's pretty.

In other news, I finally got my sister to join devart. She hasn't uploaded anything yet. Unlike me, she doesn't need fanart to get by. She's a great artist/graphic designer. When she gets a paid accound, I demand you buy her prints.

Optimus Prime - Final

This is the final version I guess. I made everything and Im so happy. Sketch, to clean up, to ink, to colour, to the bloody glow and stars. Im a beginner. YAY. All done. I think the eyes are a bit too glowy if possible.

The starry effect is impossible to see because the picture isnt big enough. It looks like a sky now. I wish you all could see the starfield when on the fully sized pic, but here it just looks blotchy

4 hours total I guess.
