Hello! Another devART... but this is the first UlquiHime I've submitted here. :] It's the new look of Orihime in Bleach, I was thinking of doing the old look but I wanted to try sketching the new her and this came out! And since it's winter in Japan, I used an item that is related to the season... and the first thing that popped out in my head is blanket(?) as it's cold.

But... Tsk tsk, Ulquiorra wouldn't really leave Orihime alone, even in my sketches! o.o

So when i started this picture, i intended for it to be sweeter...cus ulquiorra and orihime are so cute!! gahh!

anyways, it somehow turned into this, probably because i was listening to zeppelin's Kashmir like 90% of the time, and it's like...the most badass song ever.
the lighting and shading in this makes no sense. it's kind of ridiculous.
maybe someday i'll make a better, sweeter one, cus ulquihime is just...sweet. and ulquiorra's a stud, and he's fun to draw.

10/21/2012: Aright...so...editing the Artist's Comments again.

Once upon a time, I inked everything by hand. That lasted for about the first 3 chapters, after which I started using Sai. PLEASE for the love of all you cherish in the world, if you do happen to read this comic and are kinda rubber-facing every so often cuz the art is really fucking bad some pages...GIVE IT A MINUTE @__@ I tried fixing the pages not that long ago, and I made it about 2-3 chapters, but then my computer exploded in a storm and I lost everything up to Ch20. So, Ch1-3 are aright, but Ch4 to about Ch10 are kinda goofy sometimes. Ch16 is where I really had a massive brainfart about how to ink my people. Ch20+, I can safely say the art is stellar, and it only gets better with each update.

So, I guess what I'm asking is to keep an open mind. Skip ahead to see what's to come if you're concerned. Even canon Bleach had really horrible art for the first several dozen chapters. I remember a pic of Orihime during the early days where her face was all over the place like a Picasso but not nearly as good. When I did this comic, I had come off a 2 or 3 year hiatus from all artwork and was sorely lacking practice. It took a whole 10-chapter doujin to get back into the swing of things, and that was before I started over with this one.

So yeah...the story itself makes sense, but the art takes some time to catch up. It blows by pretty quick, and people are always going on about how it gets better with each update (which is hilariously true... /sigh) I wish I could keep editing these older chapters, but without my PSD files it's really hard. I may try later on when I have time, but I dunno yet.
