Here are 12 baby polar bears playing in spring snow, for your desktop wallpaper pleasure. (I think my personal favorite is the one with its head propped up on the sleeping bear's butt. >D) I made them especially for the Multi-Monitor contest, which may be the first time I've ever made a wallpaper with the sole intent of it being a wallpaper. Meant to stretch across 2 monitors--although I also included regular 1 monitor-sized images in the zip file. The zip file includes images suitable for the following sizes:

Once upon a time, there was a boy on earth who liked a girl on the moon... He was good at making paper airplanes. She was suppose to put the stars up in the night sky. He was industrious and hardworking. She liked to take naps. This is their story of a long distance love.

My entry for the Multi-Monitor Mayhem contest~! I actually do use two monitors, but I don't have a multi-monitor wallpaper, which is kinda sad, so I wanted to draw something that could replace the flying giraffee [link] (my current wallpaper ^^). I've always liked the idea of having two related but different pictures on each monitor, so that's how the idea of a boy on earth and a girl in the sky came up. As for the long distance love idea--many of us live so far away from each other, and yet we can still communicate, share words and pictures and stories and bits and pieces of our lives with one another--all through the use of our computers. So with this wallpaper, I wanted a reminder of the computer (and sites like DA) as a way to form connections and relationships.

I wish I had a bit more time to spend on this, as the clouds are totally sucky and I would have liked to add in some more detail, but... had a plane to catch to NYC and I sure wasn't going to spend my spring break vacation staying inside and finishing up artwork. ^^ This was roughly sketched in my sketchbook, inked and colored mostly in Painter 7 and a bit of Photoshop CS2 with a wacom tablet. Hope you like!

Oh... and uh... full view to see the actual wallpaper. ^^ I just cut out the characters for the preview since the default preview would have been too small to see anything.

Finally done.
I've been so undecided about this wallpaper, I really wanted to put a curling team in the ball room (like so many of you suggested ) but ... the Internet isn't exactly full of curling team stock photos. So I went back to the usual fairy princess stock
I have re-done the floor and the windows and the walls over and over and over again because something was never quite right. I hope that my pespective came out right (although a friend of mine suggested that the reflection on the floor doesn't quite fit in). Working with perspectives is so much trickier than I thought ...

Yes, the qubiq's strike again! This time specially made for devART's Multi Monitor Mayhem Contest. Straight out of the rendering-machine (my sister's home-PC, something 1.100MHz-powerd), took about 30 (!) hours. Made in Cinema 4D XL7 again, this time copper-toned.

Final submission for Multi-Monitor Mayhem

This was sketched + inked YEARS ago, scanned and colored in photoshop. It was two seperate images originaly meant for greeting cards (I was a greeting card illustrator at the time). I combined the two for this desktop. If I can locate the sketches in my files I'll scan and post them up in my gallery as well. My reference was a bouquet of wildflowers I'd picked and brought home.

An entry for the Multi-Monitor Mayhem contest but more importantly, a new wallpaper for me that I not only dig, but done in a style I've never really thought about trying before. The lilies were referenced from a photo taken by my mother of one of her gorgeous ikebanas. Though only the flower was used, I tried to keep the same harmony she originally designed, but alas, my black thumb doesn't allow me to do flower arrangement. Anyways, enjoy!

this is awallpaper that i done a while back as 2 seperate versions. with character and an altered version without the character. So i put them together into this one wallpaper for the multi-monitor mayhem competition. The curverd oval shaped brushes in the background are from a brush called D30 that i got from here on deviant art ages ago. i have tried to find the brush again but am unable. i have found a person i think the brush maybe from as his work looks very similar this person is thasprout [link] if this brush is not thasprouts and actuall yours let me know and i will credit you.

The Yin, The Yang

Having VERY recently bought another TFT for my setup, I needed a suitable wallpaper for it. So, I created this today, having thought about duality etc for about half an hour I realised that a Yin Yang was perfect.

However, when I made it with the two sides together, given the large gap between my displays (one has quite a large edge) I thought it looked slightly odd. So, I split them up, and altered the background colour for each (I actually rendered both twice, once with a white background and again with a black one then cropped them together)

Which leaves me with this. A wallpaper that I'm using now, and is damn cool if I do say so mylself .

First time I enter a DA's contest so wish me luck, this is the landscape of a city, no brainer here.

Drawing made by hand, part of the background done on Illustrator and everything else (color, lighting, etc.) done and placed all together on Photoshop.

The ZIP file contains the image divided on both left and right side, so they can be use on a single monitor too, all JPG files on both 1600x1200 and 1024x768 sizes.

I hope you like it.

I really love the graphite color in the VS's and WB's so I tried to accent them a little with this. I will also be uploading a .psd file for you to play with. this another submission from me to the multi monitor mayhem competition and so to not spam the place with my wallpapers this will be the only other one i will submit.

The wallpaper is all my own. I drew the hands and guns up on paper from a screen shot of a game i took and then vectored them. This is my crazy submition to this competition as it is alittle wacky but i liked the overall out come.

I had intended to air brush it and it would have been my first airbrushing attempted but after about 6 hours i had only airbrushed half the image and it wasnt as good as had expected and to be franc i got alittle lazy and couldnt be bothered to add a new layer of higher detail over it.

i ended up using 2 guns for 2 reasons:
all gamers know that it is better and more fun to be running around with 2 guns rather than the one and as i got my inspiration for the guns of a game i had to do that.
the other is the nature of the competition.

"Mirrored Mad Mandel Mirages" for "Multi-Monitor Mayhem"... The name just turned out that way; almost looks like I planned it that way, though, doesn't it?

So, one fine Winter evening in March (that followed a Summer morning), I read the news about a multi-monitor wallpaper design contest, and immediately thought, "That's me!". Then I looked through my somewhat large collection of single-screen wallpapers, and I realized: I haven't made any new wallpapers since "Slashed Liquid Crystal" in 2003! (I'll upload that one to my gallery later, by the way.)

So, one night, I started up PSP, and pretty much continued where I left off... with the exception that I would design wallpapers with multiple monitors in mind, and also at a higher resolution than typical. (I typically make 1024x768 wallpapers even though all the screens are set at 1280x1024. Why? Because BMP files are huge!)

In that one night, I created four wallpapers. Two for two screens, one for three, and also a single-screen one (which, naturally, I won't be submitting to the contest).

This one's the first of the set. The original fractal image was a Mandelbrot variation taken from an old MS-DOS program called "Fractint". I took that basic fractal image and pretty much ripped it apart and put it back together with the various filters and features of Paint Shop Pro... and then I mirrored it, played with colors and layers... And then there's the delicate 3d effect which I'm particularly proud of.

Designed for two monitors, 2560x1024. Of course, it might also fit on one monitor if you don't mind it being squished or cut in half.

I won't be offering a higher-quality PNG version of this one, by the way... I saved it with a much higher JPG quality than I usually do. That's why it's nearly 1.4 MB, as opposed to my last one which is only around 110 KB.

Here's my entry for the contest!

Also works for single monitor setups when set to Center or Tile!

I'm not sure if you can use .png files as desktop images, so if it doens't work, convert it!
