The fractal patterns from these cranes and stars come from Piérmu [link] , Counting Rice [link] , and a version of Golden Gate Jumpers [link] with edited colors. Part of the reason I've been making so many highly textural fractals recently is because I knew they would look best on origami, and I've been wanting to make fractal-paper origami ever since the FatOW contest was announced.

So, here we have: the cranes and stars set up on my floor, closeups of each crane, crops of the fractals used to make them, and a picture of just stars on the floor. Fun fact: the dimensions of the squares used to fold the cranes are based on the golden ratio. ]]>
