I don't smoke, but if I did I imagine I would eventually look something like this...Crazy right?

All that aside, this was really fun to paint and I learned quite a bit.

this is my entry for the contest. i wanted to show a persons transformation from smoking. on this one i chose a pretty young woman who started smoking young then slowly her skin starts getting that grey color and wrinkled. the smoke irritates her eyes so they turn red. her hair starts thinning and loses life. eventually comes death.
i know this one woman who was about 35 years old but she looked like she was 65 years old. her voice was so low and raspy i could hardly understand her. it was so sad. so i kinda based this on her.

She due to her excessive smoking, she has mutated into a toxin/smoked filled monster. The damage to her throat by the smoke causes her voice to make a high pitch, unrecognizable, raspy howl.

To the red blotchy growths to the pus/smoke filled blisters to the blackend lungs , it was clear to see that her addiction was her demise.

Red Sun Rising

When a gold sun rises in the sky,
All the birds with joy will fly.
When a red sun rises in the sky,
The world will all bend down and cry.
When a black sun rises in the sky,
The world will just curl up and die.

Explanation of my use of symbolism:
The black, dripping goo represents the tar in cigarettes. The monster made of tar represents Big Tobacco and all unnatural things. The fairy represents nature and all the people not wanting to be addicted to tobacco or cigarettes. The gold sun I wrote about represents a healthy, drug free world. The red sun represents a polluted world, which is being taken over by smoke and tar. The black sun represents a ruined world, completely under the control of Big Tobacco. The different sun colors also represent different stages of addiction. The gold sun is a person not addicted to cigarettes; the red sun is a person who is addicted; the black sun is a person so heavily addicted to drugs that they are dying from it.

Honestly I have been around smokers for a long time and have never been affected by their life style as indifferent. But I do know for a fact that the origional tobacco products can cause some damages to the body if used excessively like alcohol. One you start with the nicotine the Big tobacco will try to hunt down your life and this artwork shows part of my truth.

I see a Phoenix being hunted down by a crazed mutated manhunter weilding a crossbow with a world war II Harley. The Phoenix represents life as the hunter represents the condition of him using these birds to burn his own breathing supply as shown from his back. The more he abuses the more he needs.

I liked this activity and may make another for a second entry for the contest Thank you all for inviting me to this!

This is the 2nd entry I am using for the make ugly contest... an needless to say, I love this one more than the Mutant one, the whole see through effect and lack of an outline really gave it the slime look I was aiming for. And this one you can tell is a Monster over a mutant do to slimes being a RPG classic monster.... or you know The Blob.... that guy as well...

Also as a side note... I am defiantly not going to win this... I mean HAVE YOU SEEN THE OTHER COMPETITION?!?!? Unless simple designs are what they are looking for then I doubt I am gonna get even an honorable mention, let alone 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.... But hey... you never know what will happen right?

A method they use is were they rip the babys arms off and takes them out in peices and crushes thier skull. Tabacco smoking while pregnant will cause the baby to have disabilities or health problems so the parents don't want to spend that money or they don't want that so they abort it.

I speak from experience, my birth mother was addicted to tobacco and drugs, and I was born with a hole in my heart, I was sickly all the time, pale and had to eat every hour, also my esophagus was crooked so it was hard for me to keep food down. all that from tobacco, but one thing I am thankful for is im glad that my birth mother did not abort me. she loved me enough and so did my birth father to let me be adopted, and one day my mother now was holding me and my color returned and my heart had healed and my throat healed. I am a miracle.

What's this? A contest in which I must make a monster, giant, mutant, or something undead? I AM IN MY ELEMENT BABY! AM NOT GOING TO WIN BUT IN MY ELEMENT!

..... I guess I should probably mention this picture huh?

The idea for this one was sorta a Dr.Frankenstien meets Cigar Company which for some reason decided to blend into my head when I drew the mutant you see before you... The design for the mutant himself? Well it was a challenge of making it seem like a mutant and not a monster... which is actually a hard task to do seeing as how nowadays you couldn't tell one another from each other. But I think I did a good job in designing it to make you seriously ask what the heck is that? But for those of you who do not like this, worry not... I have another one coming up... unless you saw this one after the other one in which case... WELCOME TO THIS ONE!
