Technique: a lot of pencils;
Time: 10s(dozens) of hours.

I was feeling like "I die before I finish it"... I'm bone-tired.
There was too less time for me, furthermore I'm having the hardest time at school now, because school year is coming to end in Poland and we have to study all the time. I was going to be late. I finished it at 2:30AM (8:30PM NY time)...

O.K. any chance to win... Why there would black&white drawing win with tones of colorful and cool works?xD But I would damn myself if I wouldn't try, I wanted to do something like this anyway. This contest was a great occasion and motivation.

Edit: Lot of visitors see a likeness between my Hatter and Bill Kaulitz and they aren't shure if they're right... Yes, Bill is the Hatter It wasn't prohibited by rules, so... Of course I'm in Alice role.

BTW I love J. Depp too(he's my fav actor) but...
It's mine Wonderland, so... If I can choose the Hatter... I wanted to see him as Mad Hatter
Of course I know that most of you don't like or hate him (without reason to be honest), but that's not my fault... Favs aren't the most important thing, I'd like to draw what I like.

FINALLY IT'S "COMPLETE"!!!!!!!!

yes, my Dodge Dart contest entry is NOW all COMPLETE!!!!

I've worked on this for nearly 40 hours, revising this for more than a hundred times, trying to get the shades, details, surroundings all perfect with my pencils

Yup, 100% traditional and all done with PENCILS and MECHANICAL PENCIL

Well anyways, before I start, let me explain about the concept of this artwork.

I initially wanted to show the contrast between black/white and show a bit of a welcoming atmosphere by showing the car's (Driver's seat) 's doors open, and also add a bit of a background (In this case, I chose New York City because, not only is Manhattan, NY, a place where lots of TV Shows, commercials, movies, etc. are shot at, but is also a landmark of the country where this car originates from: USA)

So to sum up, the main concept of my artwork is contrast between BLACK/WHITE and showing the car in a city background to give it a welcoming appearance

Materials used : Faber Castell Pencils sizes HB, B, 2B, 3B, 4B, 5B, 6B, 2H, 3H, and Mechanical Pencils sizes 0.3 and 0.5

done on a clean A3 size paper

This kind of bottle is inspirated i the New York city cosmopolitan art, not just for being a big city, is for the whole urban artists and their "simplicity" of their lifes in this urban jungle.

Tipography made with intention of narrate a comic story (font type) and the freedom of the ink over the paper, to become the water a sybol of the human minds polimerizated with the liquid sybol of paint and ink, over all the ideas of the people of US.

In the social aspect i made the dialogue ballons, because the people is making opinions of art everytime and everywhere, making the art water a common symbol of art to all the people over th world.

The connotation of the city is the hugeness of the power of humans and art over the world, and for the US people is a unique icon of diversity.

"All the people in US and NY wants art water, because they're thirsty for ART"

Dr. Pepper NY Mural Contest

EDIT: Added myself into the image. This is one way I would LIKE to drink my Dr. Pepper. This was way too much fun. I turned the Dr. Pepper bottle asset image upside down in Photoshop, and was struck immediately, as I thought how amazingly cool it would be if a bottle of Dr. Pepper was made into a hot air balloon. The red cap makes a perfect gondola! Because Dr. Pepper has been around since 1885, I wanted a classic turn of the century look. I may make minor changes, and add some Victorian frill to that end.

The balloon is the only part of the image that wasn't textured or painted, and by design. I wanted the balloon to be the only "real" thing in the shot, and more striking by contrast. Does it work? Thoughts?

I tried using a lot of symbolisms in this drawing. (and also a little bit of both un-reality and reality. )

I'll start explainin what I did here, now..

So before I drew this, a thought that people would be drawing their imaginery lands came into my mind.
Of course, I'm not saying that's bad, but I just thought and expected to see people doing that.

Then I figured out that I wanted to do something differnet that drawing my imaginary fairy-tale-kind-of place.

So what I drew here is a reality that I want to make.

First of all, this is like a future's city. It looks kind of like NY, and you can see the peach stuck on the very top of the drawing. (just like in the movie! ^^*)
By recreating that situation of James' landing in NY with his peach, I wanted to make a litle bit of a hint of "dreams coming true."
In the movie, James and his bug friends' dreams COME TRUE. They don't end up only being the dreamers, but also those who fulfiled their dreams.
So I wanted to show that in my painting, that my dream will come true as well.
Also, there is a little branch sticking out among the advertisements on the left, and there is a little green spring thing on it. (which is what made James' dream come true.)

I used the advertisements on both sides to show the things I want to see in my later life.. (in the reality that I would like to create)
On the right side, it says "unit" and there is a connected hand with a Yin-Yang looking thing on it. (it actually symbolizes Korea, my country. )
I want my country (which is the only country that is separated) to reunite again as one. I also mixed the both colors (blue and red) of the flag to symbolize unity. (you can see that below the advertisement that says "unit".
("unit" was a cut-up "united")

and then on the left side, there is another advertement that says with an arrow, "chosen by a beauty" towards a little hand bag. Obviously, the one who is holding the bag isn't a skiny and beautiful kind of a person. She is FAT.
I wanted to show that fat and ugly people can be admired as equal as the models that we see today. (it's disgusting to see immature ppl in my school making fun of over-weighted people. it really is.)

there are also many hearts all over the place of this drawing, which symbolizes the love that people should be sharing with each others. I wanted to shos that in my drawing, since hatred is the cause of many tragedies in the world today.

On the road that people are walking by, there is a little girl on a suitcase in the center. She appears sad and lost, but there is another girl in blue dress (on the left), who is pointig towards her. This little drawing is suppose to show how the wrong decisions can be fixed.

Also there are two figures of people who are near the hand. The white one symbolizes the people who will be supporting me and my dream of creating this world without hatred. On the other hand, the one who is next to the white figure and the one who is criticizing me and my dream.

Lastly, I purposely put the misty-looking effects, so that it would look kind of unreal. But by adding a hand, which appears to be both unreal (I made it seem like it's part of the world) and real (I added a shadow to the hand), I wanted to give the viewers a thought that this might really come true later. ^^
yup! that's about it!

Well, this is my entry to the contest i know i have no chance but ny looking at the entries i just got inspired.

About the picture:
I believe that people and things can not be categorized as good and evil, but because people have a free will they sometimes don't do the right things for various reasons.

Also when people grow up its harder for them to be good, as while they're children they arent concered about whats around them, so they can be innocent, truthful and just 'good'.

And it even says in the bible to 'be like children' as they are the most innocent beings.

A month ago I had a dream about a trip to Mont Blanc (I was there years ago, amazing place). Funny thing about this dream- I went there barefoot, and I didn't feel any cold. I thought- maybe to climb Mont Blanc isn't so hard? So I'm planning a trip next summer, wish me luck

I also like to traveling, but i never really do (to many excuses). First, my favorite Finnland (that's why I said: "I really want to speak finnish, but I can't" [or I hope this is it ]
Next maybe NY, then Cambodia.
I hope to make my dream come true some day (that's why I had a goldfish tattoo on this work- 3 wishes; and an apple- to finally dare to try).

8th Evil Ex: Jackalope

Jack "Jackalope" Loperman was born in Texas where he learned the art of necromancy from a shady man in an underground bewbie saloon. After teaching him all he could, his master vanished, leaving Jackalope with the last bit of knowledge: The more lives he took the more powerful his abilities would become.

However, because murder is frowned upon, Jackalope became a hunter and has since been traveling the world, collecting his trophies and practicing his shit. He met Ramona by chance on Adirondack Mountain in NY. Over the course of their relationship Jackalope got her into smoking and was going mad with power. Ramona decided he was creepier than he was charming, so she left.

Jackalope brings his trophies back to life at the start of battle and sicks em on Scott. After defeating Jackalope, Scott should get 69 coins and a pack of smokes he refuses to smoke.

This would NOT be difficult to make into a giant mural. Ideas on how to improve this are more than welcome, please give feedback and let me know! I thought it would be cool to see a mural (a first that I know of?) in stereo 3D. Certainly easy enough to translate to a mural.

For those not familiar with how to view 3D stereo "cross-eyed stereogram" images:

Look at the airplanes in the middle of each image (you may have to sit back a little from your monitor), then cross your eyes until the airplanes come together as one. The rest of the image should pop, as everything comes into natural focus, and you'll be able to see the entire image in 3D.

First save, then drink.

I moved to New York City in 2000, so I feel a strong connection to the city. Because of this I decided to fill up my cup with images from NYC...

These include: a subway train, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Empire State Building, the statue from Rockefeller Center, the Bull statue from Wall Street, a baseball, and a bat. I also thought it would be nice to pay homage to King Kong by having the Starbuck's Mermaid climbing the Empire State Building. Also you can see that she is holding the Statue of Liberty's torch.

I revamped the "I Heart NY" symbol, so that it reads "I FRAPP NY." I feel the heart being pink makes it stand out more and show that I truly love NYC and Starbucks!

Because I really enjoy a chocolate mocha chip frappachino, I decided to add words to describe the sensation I feel when I drink one.

The lines represent how the city intersects, and that all streets lead to Starbucks! I think most NYers would admit that they are happy to have Starbucks as part of their community.

I added the little bursts of brown to represent the chocolate and mocha chip flavors.

You will also notice that I did not use a plain white background, but a light colored canvas to enhance the overall image and make it more interesting. Starbucks sometimes prints their graphics of woven bags, so I wanted to give the image a slightly rustic feel by doing this.

This is my entry for the Dr. Pepper NY Mural Contest. I wanted to capture the idea of two different "people" starting a friendship by the sharing of Dr.Pepper. The monstrous cuddle fish and diver should be engaged in an epic under sea battle but it seems that they have found comradery with each other instead. Using the old and new Dr. Pepper logo's not only showcases the history the company has but hints to the timelessness of friendship.

taken in the museum of modern art on the trip to new york. i was sitting down looking at the jasper john, and a real sex in the city amazingly gorgeous woman walked past with her rockstar/artist/rich businessman etc boyfriend.

its called envy, because the only two figures in focus are the 'normal' woman in the foreground dressed in black; looking on at the painting sneaking nervous envious glances at miss sex in the city. well at least thats what i imagined it like. i also like the contrast in colours in clothing between sarah jessica parker lookalikey and the rest of the people in the picture. i feel it accentuates the envious feel of the piece.

its also a little far fetched but this poem that im learning at the moment whilst revising for my english literature gcse called 'Two Scavengers in a Truck, Two Beautiful People in a Mercedes' by Lawrence Ferlinghetti (go see: [link] ) sums it all up and this picture especially the americanism and longing/envy (especially the last few lines) a bit too laa dee daa for what im used to, but if i said that in an art exam evaluation they'd love it

Alright the name is based on a jerk I knew. Everything else is based on the stereotype New Yorker. I'm from New York so I do know what I typing about. What do I mean by stereotype? The average Bayside Korean with hi-lighted hair, speak slang, act ganster, and always seen with either a manga, hand ball, baseball, or skateboard.

John's (a very very popular american name) hi-lights grew out and has black hair under that beanie and its also pretty much why he has umm that beanie it the first place. the hat is red to represent blood decapitate etc etc. or dead.

Most Korean people here are Christian (no offense). I'm not Korean or Chritian but I hang out with them (friends) enough to know T_T'

Oh yeah JK's personality. Well he has no soul and his body is dying....not exactly the kind of person with a great personality. Most of the time in some what of a bad mood. This is for the Dr.Pepper NY Mural Contest.
I drink my Dr.Pepper by making it into ice cream flavor xD and I drink Dr.Pepper when watching a movie like Iron Man and Captain American, since they were promoted in Dr.Pepper can! While Tom Hanks as Forrest there is a guy who drink Dr.Pepper at the president conference, sooo much that he need to go to the restroom xD.

Background as just something commonly of what you would drink Dr.Pepper with, like with candies. Well except for the mushroom, it was random~

I think i might have gone off a bit with the topic, but I have fun with it, that's all it matter x)

I've always love Dr. Pepper's colors, and there is something about a caramel colored soda, like Dr. Pepper, that I think is beautiful. I tried to capture the essence of that beauty in this image. Any critiques, any suggestions, are completely welcome.
