What you see here is ~DanteWontDie's digital art for an Alice Madness Returns FanArt book [link] with an overlay of rainmeter skins to add a little movement and display information on the desktop . I used some graphics from OrmiKoresh's AMA Icon Set [link] when making the skins so thanks *OmriKoresh.
You will need the latest beta version of Rainmeter to run these skins. Get it from here [link]

The skins have the same functionality as those in the Cogs, Tubes and Gauges collection [link] , I have simply modified the surrounds and added a few props to help them blend a little better with ~DanteWontDie's artwork.
The skins in the package are:

- Analog clock (left-click to change the clock face but you won't get rid of Alice) - watch for the steam emission every minute.
- System info with a gauge showing overall CPU usage, individual bars for up to 8 cores and smaller gauges for RAM and SWAP memory usage.
- Network activity showing upload and download speeds along with the ping return time and wifi signal strength.
- Volume control - trumpet and skull to the right of 5-Clubs. Use the mouse scroll wheel to adjust the system volume or left-click to mute.
- Gauges for used space on 1-4 hard drives (gratuitous pendulum thingamebob for one or two disks).
- Weather skin with analog gauges for temperature, barometric pressure and wind direction. Click the forecast icon for a 72-hour forecast from the Weather Channel.
- uTorrent tracker using Lua script adapted from LuaTorrent3.1 by Jeffrey Morley [link]
- RSS/Atom feedreader built around Kaelri's Reader.lua script [link] .Feed items are sorted by date/time and anything less than an hour old is bulleted. The selector animation uses Kaelri's Universal Transitions script [link]. The crawling ants are there to let you know that you've changed page or the feeds have been refreshed.
- Music Player using Poiru's NowPlaying plugin [link] that works with a variety of media players. The list of supported players and the PlayerName codes are here [link]
- Skin Launcher for the FeedReader, Weather, Network, Music Player and uTorrent skins.

NOTE: The Skin Launcher is just below the Day/Date playing card on the right. Clicking the settings icon on the far right will open a text file (UserVariables.inc) where user settings like the weather code, the type of music player and the RSS feed URLs can be changed.

I've included wallpaper for a 1920x1080 screen. If you have a different screen resolution I recommend you download the original 2079 x 1404 version from DanteWontDie's post [link] and re-size it using a 'constrain proportions' setting to fit your screen.

- NETWORK ACC now has a function: By clicking the tiny Y youll reset all cumulative counters. Theres also a small X on the right to close the skin.

- New gadget: Recycle bin display: Displays the number of items and the current size of your recycle bin + a matching icon of an empty / full recycle bin. Left-click to open your recycle bin, right click to empty (with confirmation).

- New gadget: Shutdown control: Buttons to Shutdown, Restart, Hibernate, Logout and lock you computer by using shutdown.exe -s -t 0; -r -t 0; -h; -l -t 0; rundll32.exe user32.dll, LockWorkStation.
All buttons are locked by default so you cant click them by accident. Click the unlock button to remove the overlay and enable them.

- New gadget: Temperature graphs: Displays for up to16 Speedfan temperatures, including GPU, local, HDD, CPU 1-12 and 2 additional undefined graphs for your own additional temps. You can easily configure the Speedfan index and name for the temperature by editing the variables. Follow the fail-safe instructions of the ;-ed parts in the script.
Launcher included to launch all temperatures at once.

- Animated high frame-rate rotating GDI-Logo with your own custom text.

- Startup sound: An invisible meter that plays a sound and greets you with Welcome back, commander every time you start Rainmeter.

- New gadget: RSS Reader: Keep track of the latest news with the RSS Reader for BBC and Google News! Buttons to directly open the homepage in your browser, close/refresh the skin and expand/hide the feeds included. (BBC News | Front Page | World Edition; Top Stories Google News)

- New gadget: Notepad: Never forget anything again with the new BlueVision Notepad! Displays custom text written in the contained NOTES.txt. Buttons to open the .txt, close the skin, expand & contract the notes and manually update the strings included.

- New gadget: Weather radar map: Showing the latest weather.com radar pictures of your desired location. Uses color-matrix and an overlay to fit the theme. To display your location edit the skin and past the link to your map under the URL= variable.

Keeping it simple for my first ever Rainmeter release. I've included many of the themes I've worked on into a single package. Mix & Match, change colors, fonts, sizes... modify to your heart's content.

AUGUST 8TH UPDATE

I've hopefully fixed the weather now, but not positive. Also, the download and install size has been reduced by about 30%.

I don't think I'll be supporting this anymore, seeing as I haven't worked on it in a long time and the amount of work required for a nice major update would be too time consuming.

Remember, you can edit the skin and redistribute it, so long as you give credit where credit is due. The skins from both UrulokiBurning and RickF7666 are both based on this, and they both look great. MOD YOUR SKINS AND SHARE

You will need a program called CoreTemp for the temperature display to work properly.

Other things you may need
You will need Rainmeter to run this skin. You can download Rainmeter from [link]

To properly display the temperature gauge in the older skin, you will need Speedfan [link]

Possible bugs and errors
A word of caution, this was developed in Vista 32 bit, but has been tested and shown working in 32 bit and 64 bit Vista/7 systems (I'm not sure about XP). However, I have had a lot of complaints about bugs. I've never taken any programming in my life, I only know what I have self taught. I know for a fact the RSS reader included is screwed up.

Making the Launcher work
You need to specify your own program paths for the app Launcher. The Launcher skin has been reworked and now includes an EDIT button. Clicking the button opens a text file that can now be used to change the name that appears for the App and the Application path.

ABP1.0 (first public release):

This is ABP for Rainmeter, the suite comes in black and white and has a configure-tool pretty much like Tabmeter2.

You also find kinda tabs in there, for example in the RSS or Launcher skins. These are meant to be small but still featuring a lot of functions.

Here are some tips:
The launcher has space for 21 shortcuts, but I personally liked to have some of them launch a website instead a program. You can do this by clicking "Advanced Options" in the configure-tool and then just put in things like Link1-1="h t t p://w w w. deviantart. com" (of course without the spaces - I only did this so deviantART doesn't see this as an URL )

Questions and Answers:
I always get an error when I try to open a tab in the System skin, but that doesn't happen with the Launcher
Answer: Get Rainmeter1.3

Is your skin compatible to Foobar/WMP/etc.?
Answer: nope. But you can get a CAD skin fitting the suite perfectly here: [link]

*******HOW TO USE*******

1. AniDate: Show date, sleep, shut down, restart funtions & there is a circle spin around it.

2. Fusion: You can see Clock, Weather & CPU, RAM, SWAP status on this stuff, there are 3 skin: Glass, Dark & Light.
Default Temp is °C & my Location (Garland, TX), If you want change, go to this page: [link] to find your location, then open my .ini file, find Location=2408980 then replace it by yours, Unit= C (is °C) or F (is °F)

3. iFiles: these are new skins for Rainmeter, it can measure size folders, count items, it need a new plug-in FileListPlugin.dll (place it on Plugins directory), you can create another by yourself: just copy my skin, rename it, open .ini file, you will see
eg:
...
WildcardSearch=*.jpg;*.jpeg;*.png;*.bmp ---> type of files
Path=E:\Pictures ---> place you want measure
...

4. MultiDock: a complicating dock, you can easy edit it as your wish, main screen that is your HDDs, there are 5 tabs & a back button to return mainscreen anytime you like

Simple, clean Rainmeter skins, for someone who does not need to monitor their overclocked 6-core processor, but does want the time and date on their desktop.

The Elementary skin set currently includes time, date, weather (current conditions and three-day forecast), basic system monitor, analog clock, and "chronophage" (ornamental/time tracking) skins.

How to:

Make sure you have Rainmeter installed (version 2.3). [link] If you are new to Rainmeter, you may want to check out some walkthroughs to get familiar with the program, like Rainmeter 101 [link] or this Lifehacker article [link]
Download the .rmskin file from the link near the top right of this page. You should be able to run the file with Rainstaller, which will put all the files in the right places on your system.
Edit the file "...\Documents\Rainmeter\Skins\Elementary\@Resources\Settings.txt" to change settings. "...\Rainmeter\Skins\Elementary\ReadMe.rtf" has explanations of all the options!

Notes on this update:

Rainmeter 2.3 is required for Elementary version 1.5! (Check the change log if you need to know the reasons...)
Added a "Language" setting in Settings.txt! Currently, valid options are en, de, es, fr, nl, and ber. Please see the ReadMe for details, including how to translate Elementary yourself to a language that isn't already included.
Because of the new @Resources folder, you should no longer have to install any fonts for the skin to work (and thus don't need admin privileges). If, for whatever reason, you do need to install the fonts, the files are located in "...\Elementary\@Resources\Fonts\"

SimplyNova is an old skin of mine (my first as a matter of fact). After being voted Skin of the Month on the Rainmeter group it has gained nearly 500,000 downloads through out all the sites it's currently on and is used in many different ways by Rainmeter users, admins and teachers.

I have gone through all the code and corrected mistakes (always an ongoing process though), got rid of unneeded code, added comments through all files and much more. There are a few changes from the original - better link icons (which as of yet still need some work to allow for icons that you'll actually want/need as users.

I love seeing what people do with these skins - so if you use it please shoot me a message with a link. I don't care what you do with it - just like to see the different uses

New options skin added! Now you can easily edit launcher names, paths and icons without having to delve into the config.inc file

I proudly present S.H.I.E.L.D OS

The design of the skin is taken directly from the computers on the Helicarrier in The Avengers. I got all of my reference material from the actual designer of the UI for the movie.

The package itself contains most of the typical skins you'd expect:

Clock - Intricate clock design as well as the actual number version for clear understanding
Program Launchers - 6 small and 6 big launchers for opening programs/folders etc...
Web Launchers - 6 text based launchers for opening webpages
CPU Monitor - Support for 1-4 Cores. The monitor is designed to be more visually appealing then functional so accuracy of the actual levels is off. I plan on fixing this in the next update
Ram Monitor - Shows Ram used percentage
HDD Monitor - The outer ring on the clock skin displaying your HDD used space
Date - Date, month and day
Music Player - Can open your music player directly from the skin. Playback buttons, progress, player volume control and album artwork all incorporated
Shutdown Buttons - Buttons to shutdown, restart and log off
Recycling Bin - Opens the recycling bin. Also shows a current deleted item count
Volume Control - Adjust the system volume
Options menu - Easily edit launcher names, paths and icons

a.k.a. Aperture Laboratories Test Chamber Signage for Real Life Use

PLEASE READ THROUGH THIS ENTIRE README FOR INSTRUCTIONS. ALSO, MANY OF THESE QUESTIONS ARE RAINMETER RELATED. PLEASE JUST LEARN HOW TO USE RAINMETER, IT IS RELATIVELY EASY TO LEARN. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but many answers to your questions can be found in this readme, thus saving you the time you wait for my reply! You may be missing out on key points by not reading If you don't see the instructions here, check the instructions for that particular config. You can do this the pretty way (by using RainBrowser, which COMES WITH RAINMETER) or the easy way (by editing the config file and reading the instructions in Notepad).

ABOUT THE PORTAL 2 DESKTOP THEME
Also known as the Aperture Laboratories Test Chamber Signage Theme, this is a Rainmeter ([link]) desktop theme based on the video screens and test chamber signs for the Portal 2 video game.

This is the most authentic Portal 2 theme out there: I tried my best to keep everything aesthetically and stylistically in line with the original artistic vision of the game. This was designed with a 1920x1200 desktop in mind. Using the included background, the signs are made to scale.

Included are three separate displays--

1) Test Chamber Sign
- Displays month/date/day. This was originally just the test chamber level number, now displaying the date.

- THE PROGRESS INDICATOR CAN BE SWITCHED TO DISPLAY OTHER THINGS. Check the variants: there are many different ones that show different system stats (CPU usage, HDD space free, RAM, a BATTERY METER by request!!!).

- Program Dock
Check the instructions (via RainBrowser or editing the config) for how to customize your own shortcuts on the dock. By default, they should point to the Windows 7 libraries (Documents, Downloads, Videos, etc.) and other common shortcuts. If they do not work for you, you need to customize them yourself.

2) Elevator Video Screen - Weather Display
- You must configure your weather code (US users: 5-digit ZIP Code) by editing the LocationCode variable.
- Displays the current time

- There are several variants of the wallpapers included. It's in this skin's folder under the Wallpaper directory. A total of four wallpapers are included. You can also find the wallpapers on my DeviantArt gallery.

Many of the materials used to make this theme come from the texture files from the game itself. I did, however, create some of my own artwork using Photoshop:
- Dock icons (same as the old Portal theme)
- The brand new weather icons!
- The illustration for the Propaganda Induction Tool (RSS Feed)
- The background images of the video screens (Climate Hazard Indicator/Propaganda Induction Tool/etc.).

Some serious attention to detail went into the making of this theme. I hope you enjoy it!

NOTE: The preview is just to show you all of what's available: you can pick and choose what you want to use, and there are white and blue-green variants for the video screens.

HOW TO INSTALL
This is a Rainmeter Skin/Theme. You must have Rainmeter installed for this to install.

Then download my theme and run it.

HOW TO USE
Upon the installation of the theme, all of those screens will pop up and your wallpaper will be changed as well. Simply close the ones you do not want to use, and go about trying out the different variants of the configs.

YOU MUST ENTER YOUR LOCATION CODE FOR THE WEATHER TO WORK. This is done by right-clicking on the weather skin and clicking Edit Skin. Scroll down to the Variables section and you should see 'LocationCode='. Plug in your location code (find your location here, use the newer Yahoo Weather instructions listed under Note: [link]). Change the units from Fahrenheit to Celsius if need be (use F or C; if it doesn't work, just try lowercase).

For instructions on how to customize this theme, please look inside the config files. You can also use RainBrowser! This is installed with Rainmeter most of the time (look in your Start Menu), it makes sense of all the plaintext nonsense inside the INI files that's too hard to read.

Variants--
You can right click on the skin that you want to change and there will be a Variant menu. You can choose either a blue/green or a white screen. Additionally, the white RSS screen (Propaganda Induction Tool) has a single-screen variant in both white and blue.

Further Customization--
You can go into the config file and adjust the sizes as necessary by adjusting the ThisWidth variable in the [Variables] section. However, I haven't tested this functionality extensively, so some manual adjustment may be needed. The Test Chamber Sign can comfortably get larger, but when making it smaller you may run into some issues.

AUTHOR'S NOTES
I spent forever trying to come up with the weather icons. I gave up after a while, and decided to just finish the theme with what I've got. I will likely release a few updates to this.

Update Goals--
1) Weather Icons--Not all icons are drawn using the isometric paper doll style. Some are still in the simple stick figure signage style. I'm hoping to create standardized icons.
2) Weather Indicator--Thanks to death-au [link] for the idea to incorporate the weather indicator into the test chamber sign. Basically, the idea is to replace one of the icons in the program dock on the Test Chamber Sign with a weather icon. This is way more compact than having that big weather video screen.
3) Better Propaganda Induction Tool diagram for the blue-green video screen.

Any and all suggestions for improvement (please be detailed!!!) are more than welcome.

If you would like to see a smaller scale version of this skin designed for smaller resolutions, please comment with your desired resolution. If there are enough people who want this made smaller, I'll work on it.

21 APR 2012--I've been busy, but I'll probably have time over the summer to mess around with this some more. I lost a lot of the source work because of a computer crash, so I can't guarantee that I'll work on anything. With that said, I do intend to create a smaller scale version.

10 AUG 2011--I hit 1000 downloads! A small number, to be sure, but a tiny victory nonetheless. That's about a hundred downloads a day, and one out of six people who view this download it.

_{This is the first version of my Rainmeter skin - inspired by an absolutely awesome game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim!

Also, it is my first Rainmeter skin in general, so please go easy on me.

You can easily change the color of the bars to your liking. The choices are (in accordance to the bars in game) health (red), stamina (green), magicka (blue) and level (cyan/pale blue).

All the code and graphics are made by me from scratch, except for the HDD/RAM/CPU bar background, which was reworked from an in-game screenshot.

I will try to add more meters in the future (suggestions are welcome) but now the finals are coming (brace yourself).

There are detailed instructions are in the instructions section of each individual skin. You can view them by loading your skins through the new Rainmeter graphic interface. It should help you to personalize or change whatever you like.

I hope I eliminated most of the bugs, I'm still a newb though, so please any feedback is more than welcome. I will try to fix whatever is not working or help you set it right

Soita is the official example skin for the NowPlaying plugin for Rainmeter, which supports a bunch of media players.

Rainmeter 2.3 beta r1448 (or higher) is required to install this skin. Download it from rainmeter.net.

Usage instructions:
After installing, right-click here and select 'Edit Skin'.
Then, the [mPlayer] section, change the PlayerName= value to your player.
After saving the file, right-click on the skin and select 'Refresh Skin'. Done!

Mass Effect Rainmeter Skin

This is my modified version of UrulokiBurning Mass Effect Rainmeter skin [link]

His is very cool, but there were a few things I wanted to change, and one change led to another and three weeks later I've taught myself how to make Rainmeter skins, well as a beginner I suppose.

While his and mine do look very similar there are a lot of code changes. I also changed a lot of the graphics files, I even went back to the Mass Effect game and took a lot of screenshots of the interface to hopefully improve some of the elements. I guess you'll be the judge of that.

I have not included all of the pieces that come with his skin as I thought they were redundant or I consolidated them. The only skin I included but did not touch was the Media Player. I don't play music on my gaming PC, but maybe someone else would. All credit goes to UrulokiBurning for that one.

A few notes on what I added.

CPU Monitor: It should detect how many processor cores your PC has and display the correct number of gauges. Also it "should" detect if you have an Intel or AMD processor and display the correct icon to the left of the gauges. As I don't have an PC with an AMD processor I can't exactly test that.

Hard Drive Monitor: Is set to monitor drives C: and D:, although you can change that. Click on the icon for the drive and it will change which drives stats show up. I also created some icons to represent four common hard drive manufacturers and you can set a different one for each drive by clicking on the icon. It will cycle though the four possibilities.

I want to thank UrulokiBurning and anyone who's work went into his skins as well as the people on the Rainmeter forums for helping me with learning Rainmeter.

As this is my first try at a Rainmeter skin please let me know if something isn't working. As I did this with the latest release of Rainmeter, if you are having problems check to make sure you have the most recent buildl 2.1 [link]

By the way the tabs at the top of the screenshot are the skin I created for sTabLauncher [link]

Edit: I just uploaded a newer rmskin file because I've tested the skin on my nephew's PC which is an AMD quad-core and cores 2-4 didn't show up. So I fixed it. So those of you with AMD processors it should work now.

I also forgot to put the link for the program SpeedFan, which is needed for the monitoring things like the temp of the CPU and Hard Drives. So here it is. [link]

Edit 2: There was an error in the Rainmeter.cfg file that would give you and error that "Starup" doesn't exist. It was suppose to be "Startup". Thanks DustyBoyT for bringing this to my attention.

Edit 3: Lately I've started getting more requests to post tutorials on how to use/edit Rainmeter skins or Windows syntax. While I do want to be helpful I have no interest in writing tutorials on either Rainmeter or Windows. Both of these products have excellent tutorial resources on their respective web sites.

When I decided to create this skin I had zero knowledge about Rainmeter, but I had an interest and it took several weeks to put this together. I am very gratified that so many people enjoy this skin. This is, by a rather large margin, the most successful thing I've ever posted here on Deviant Art. If you like it, great, if you want to change it in any way, be my guest, but sorry I am not going to be writing any tutorials on how to do that.

This collection of rainmeter skins uses tubes, gauges and tooltips to display information. Most of the skins have twirling cogs or other gizmos to add a little movement to your desktop but none of them use much in the way of CPU or RAM resources. You will need the latest beta version of Rainmeter to run these skins. Get it from here [link]

The skins in this version are:

- Analog clock (left-click to change the clock face or left-click on the tube to change the colour of all tubes in all skins of the collection) - watch for the steam emission every minute.
- System info with a gauge showing overall CPU usage, individual bars for up to 8 cores and smaller gauges for RAM and SWAP memory usage.
- Network activity showing upload and download speeds along with the ping return time and wifi signal strength.
- Volume control - use the mouse scroll wheel to adjust the system volume.
- Gauges for used space on 1-4 hard drives (gratuitous pendulum thingamebob for one or two disks).
- Weather skin with analog gauges for temperature, barometric pressure and wind direction. Click the forecast icon for a 72-hour forecast from the Weather Channel.
- uTorrent tracker using Lua script adapted from LuaTorrent3.1 by Jeffrey Morley [link]
- RSS/Atom feedreader built around Kaelri's Reader.lua script [link] .Feed items are sorted by date/time and anything less than an hour old is bulleted. The selector animation uses Kaelri's Universal Transitions script [link].

- Skin Launcher for the FeedReader, Weather, Network, Music Player and uTorrent skins.

The collection is intended for use on widescreen resolutions and the rmskin includes a 1920x1080 version of the wallpaper shown. If you don't fancy the black/gold background to the skins you can change to a transparent background in the UserVariables.inc file.

April 15 2012: Version 1.0.1 out! Added an improved media player skin (works with a bunch of players) and fixed minor bugs.

Note: Rainmeter 2.2 or higher required, get it from rainmeter.net.

What is Rainify?

Rainify is a suite for Rainmeter and aims to be both functional and elegant.
Everything is customizable with the included configuration skin. You can change the opacity, colors, and more in just a few clicks.

Hmm... I just put together this skin, its sort of an upgrade to my older [link](Word Clock). You need [link] (Rainmeter 1.2) >_<

To change the text color click on the small square on the top left, from there u would be able to open Raincofig.
Also please install [link] RainRGB 4.0

Most of the skin is customizable through Rainconfig.
WordClock2 ALT is only compatible with Rainmeter 1.3

WHAT IS OBSIDIAN?
Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass formed as an extrusive igneous rock.The name is derived from this because the color of that volcanic glass is Shiny Black & so are the color of the Widgets(Black and Glassy feel to it).

My newest COMPLETED Rainmeter skin,I wanted to make a skin that held most of the information I would need in one place. until I made this I was using several different skins that didn't really seem to fit together so I made this.

There is an issue with the iTunes part where if the song title, artist or album name is too long it will end up outside of the center of its circle. There isn't a lot I can do about that without making the font either smaller and hard to read or making the text get cut off at a certain point. I'm looking into a way to make the text scroll but it doesn't seem possible with rainmeter at this point.

If you're having weather troubles then right click the weather icon, then click edit skin. Then find under 'Variables there should be something that says:

Whilst version 2.0 was a huge improvement above 1.0, people wanted more, they wanted widgets!
Well you asked for it and you got it!
I started making some widgets myself, when I came across the Faenza widgets of ~Col-Darby.
So I send him a PM and asked if he felt something for Collaborating for V3.0, and he told me that he started those widgets as a tribute to the Unity bar!
And so it happened, using dropbox to sync the code development started, and now it's done, we're proud to present you V3.0 of Unity for Rainmeter!
You thought we would stop there? You couldn't be further from right, we also included the beloved stacks, customizable backgrounds, text and a dropshadow!

IMPORTANT: If you are running version 2.0 already, it is possible to update it to 3.0 using the included instructions.
Updating from 1.0 to any version is not supported. (To much changes).
For those using V1.0 or those not using it at all, the .rmskin is included in the archive for easy installation.
Update 20-03-11 20:20 (GMT): If you are planning to update 2.0, download the archive again, due to a mistake you would still lose your settings, this is fixed now!

SHo is a showcase type skin for rainmeter. I was trying to figure out a way to have all the meters I like to use on my desktop, but in a way where it's not so cluttered and spread out all over the screen. A showcase, very similar to ones you might see on a website, is the best way, I think, to get it done and look great. So thanks to pixeden.com and their awesome royalty free PS resources.

After installation open up the ini file and find every line that contains MouseOverAction (MouseLeaveAction also) and LeftMouseDownAction. At the end of each line add [!RainmeterRedraw]. So it will look something like this...

MouseOverAction=!Execute [!RainmeterShowMeterGroup ...][!RainmeterHideMeterGroup ...][!RainmeterRedraw]
or
LeftMouseDownAction=!Execute [...][!RainmeterRedaw]

Too lazy atm to update it myself.
