something fresh for summer ...

this is a visual style concept for windows 7 ,graphics were made from scratch you've probably never seen something similar out there,it takes some ideas from another concept made by me [link]
creating concepts is fun ,making visual styles is boring and tiring ,so if anyone wants to work on compiling this theme GO ON! ,I included the PSD file in the archive

I don't allow any use of the graphics in other themes...

PSD now available!

The PSD for the 'static main panel' version is now available. I had intended to animate that panel first but I will be away for a week, so the wait will be too long. (Not to mention it will take a week at least to animate it.)

For those who a new to me: Kadul is my OC. He is a young European beaver kit from the most western end of Russia. He is the equivalent of about 5-7yrs.
This was part of a competition to emoticonists to show their OCs off in three different rounds.
Round One: A big version of our OC by the normal version.
Round Two: 'Special talent'. I wanted something water related since Kadul is a beaver, but not the stock 'swimming', so I went with diving.
Round Three: A day in the life of , a four panel static comic. (We COULD animate it if we wished, but after this I was in no mood to )

Stage ONE - frame, water

Too lazy to animate water by pixelling it frame-by-frame, so using my pre-built water texture I:
removed the second-darkest shade of the waves,
set the layer to soft light,
duplicated the layer,
offset the new layer so they didn't overlap,
set both layers to 60% opacity,
modified levels on the second to make it lighter in comparison,
animated them at different speeds.

This is a base animation, tweened, so all other animation is going to have to be frame-by-frame.
This is also a very ambitious project for me

Also note that water is the ONLY thing I have ever successfully pixelled. That and grass. And I can find NO TUTORIALS for a dirt cliff face. So the end product will suck.

STAGE TWO - cliff, grass, sky

Note that the water is the only good thing in the entire image. Can't find any tutorials on cliff face so I winged it.
Probably will do more work on the grass later, but this is good for me to just figure out where Kadul is going. I'll also be adding some tufts of root and grass to the cliff face.
There's a 'falling' frame; that's what the animated cliff face is.

STAGE THREE - cliff texturing, contrast modification, some Kadul

(For some reason my preview isn't changing...?
Took =DPA-avatars' advice and upped the contrast on the cliffs. Then added grass and roots for texture, increased contrast on the grass, and adding some of the simpler animations for Kadul.
I think I will use the speed of the water to my advantage by deliberately animating ripples and foam to show the speed as if intentional rather than unavoidable. All in all, I think this is coming along well! Thanks for all the suggestions thus far guys!

STAGE FOUR - mini-Kadul updated, SOMERSAULT!

I spend more time on that somersault than I did on the water and the cliffs. Getting the rotation to fit in the 50fream break (two loops of 25fm) gave me many difficulties, especially with the ears. Most of the time, however, was on the tail (which is normally hidden from front view).

STAGE FIVE - judges added, splash added. Finished, more or less

Not happy with the splash at all - I spent ages wondering how I would handle it and everything I made looked like complete and utter CRAP. So I just made that panel static. I need to get this finished on time... maybe I'll figure out some animation later.
The two judges are Dober on the left (because I gave him Doberman spots that look like Big Ol' Man Eyebrows ) and Ander on the right ("standard" without the abbreviation 'std', but Ander is a real name meaning "lion man" apparently).

le puse un efecto que puede que algunos no les guste y así veían los dos resultados porque el efecto de luz ese lo hice con un degradado y PIN LIGHT como efecto de capa, cosa que en algunas fotos puede verse demasiado fuerte así que si no os queda bien ese efecto solo tenéis que ocultar la capa del degradado y ya está:3

PSD Folder Template

As you guys asked, a Photoshop template file that allows you to create your own folder icons for TV series, movies, music etc.

After you're done creating your folder, save it as a PNG file.

If you use Windows, you'll have to convert the PNG to an ICO file (just google "PNG to ICO converter" and you'll find something useful). That's it, it's done.

For Mac is a little bit different, you'll have to convert the file twice to get it done.

1) You'll have to convert it from PNG to ICNS (you might find something on Google to convert it). You must save the ICNS file in all available sizes (from 16x16 to 512x512). You don't have to save one at a time, because the ICNS file includes all of them in one single file. I use an Apple software called "Icon Composer" that does that automatically, so I don't know how other softwares do that.

2) Then you have to convert it from ICNS to RSRC (I recommend a free software called "Icns2Rsrc").

That's it, now you replace the icons, as taught in the tutorials available inside each icon pack.

Creating your folders (Quick Tutorial):

First, open Photoshop. Open the image you wanna use and drag it to the folder file. In the "Layers" window, drag the image to the "Template" folder. Your image must be the first thing on the folder, above the "Front". Adjust your image position (how you'd like it on your folder). Now select the "Front" layer and press "W" on your keyboard. Click outside the front image (the gray one). The outside will be selected. Now select your TV Series image and press "Delete". Now your image should be shaped like the folder. With the image layer selected, apply the Inner Shadow effect, then adjust it the way you like it.
