Escape From Wonderland Pencils

This piece is the latest for Zenescope. Pencils to Escape From Wonderland #4. There's a lot for me to say hear so God-bless you if you decide to stick around to real it all. I'm posting it larger than I normally do because there's quite a bit going on in the background.

First a big thank you to Eric Basaldua ( Ebas) for the layout and his helpful comments along the way. This was cool because the original layout was designed by him, but he wasn't able to do the project. So my editor e-mailed me the sketch, that Ebas did, to me and said, "I got a big one for you..." I nearly shit my pants when they said they wanted me to work over Ebas's pencils it was really an honor and possibly the hardest drawing I've ever done because of the shoes I had to fill. Ebas's sketch lines are like my finished pencils. The dude is so good it's ridiculous. So the whole time I was comparing my pencils to his and struggling not to draw exactly what he did. I just didn't want to be an Ebas ape.

I always listed to music when drawing it's a creative force for me. I started listening to Master of Puppets by Metallica and things started working real well. The title song in particular is great chaos and it's constantly perpetual. The song is always moving, even during the interlude about half way through, which is good for for me when drawing dramatic scenes like this. Then I found how to relate the song to the subject matter. Yes, Master of Puppets is about the horrors of drug dependency, but if you take out just a few lines like, "hope your breakfast on a mirror" and "needle work the way" the song could easily be about being controled in someway by and outside force. (which is actually a common theme throughout all the songs on the Mater of Puppets album <---Metallica trivia for those who care ...so yeah in the Wonderland story Calie is destined to be this sacrifice to Wonderland. When she escapes, like her mom Alice, Wonderland won't let her go and will forever plague her mentally and now physically "pulling her strings".

So I get the whole thing done to where I'm satisfied and e-mail it off for coloring. Later that day I hear back and they want buildings in the back. Buildings that were NOT in the original lay-out that I was sent so now I have to draw in 3 point perspective sky scrapers onto a finished pencil drawing. I welcomed the challenge, but this is a rather tricky angle to draw perspective at. I mean the camera is exactly at ground level so the architecture that's at ground level could look awfully fubar. Ah, three point perspective... good times good times. Time to break out the rulers, t-square, triangle, and compass. Shrank the picture down to about 64 percent it's original size on a xerox machine, and layed out what's called a "cone of vision" to find the center of the picture. A cone of vision is an odd method to get used to but really helps to determine where on the image the perspective is not going to look believable so you can cut out or hide those areas.

After about five complete background layouts on a tracing paper overlay I finally found one that worked for me, and where the perspective line look shitty... well that's when we draw smoke. Lots and lots of smoke and steam. But when I was done with all the buildings it just didn't look right. The chaos ensuing the foreground made the fresh clean architecture look lame and like it just didn't belong in this world. Now it's time to smash some windows! Broke a bunch of windows out, roughed up the edges and I decided to have the plant creature wrapping itself through the buildings and street which helped quite a bit.

I got a couple emails about my fanart stuff...

Q:How did you learn to draw?
A:Learn? I'm self taught. 'Course, first drawings were crap 'cuz they were stick people. But classes do help. Only Art classes i've taken was in 5th (art), 6th (art), Summer (cartooning) 8th (advanced art), 9th (art1), 10th(art3), 11th (digitalartandwebdesign), 12th (AP Art 4 and Art 2. My schedule got messed up.) . Trying to copy other people kinda helps, just not tracing, or eye tracing for that matter either, you can if you want, just DON'T POST IT ON DA.

Q: How did you learn to draw so good?
A: Taking art in school helps a bit. (especially with proportion) But other than that, i mostly just doodled whenever i could... NEVER DOODLE ON/IN A TEXTBOOK! (that you don't own. lol)

Q: When did you start drawing?
A: Kindergarten, the stick people and the sun with sunglasses XD. I wasn't introduced to the whole thing of "anime" until 6th grade. And even then, i was introduced to "pokemon" by a friend in 5th grade, and she described what pikachu looked like, and i tried to draw it from her description. Looked like a blocky pikachu. I still have that drawing. XD So, to be honest, i'd say 5th grade, because that's when I really started drawing pokemon and like cartoons and drawings outside of school.

Q: How can i improve my drawing skills relatively fast?
A: It's simple. I see this too many times. Don't stress on perfection. I see people go itty bitty little lines to make a picture. It's called countour drawing, and it's really good for sketches. Worry about details at the end, get the idea down first.

Q: Where do you get your ideas?
A: Friends, and random conversations about things in life, especially parodys, helps a lot for comics. As for all the gore and drama i draw, that's all in my head. I'll just be randomly drawing sketches for some morbid version of Yugi, and he'll be in my next fic. XD Let your mind free, and just scribble if you have to. A line could mean nothing to others, only you know what that line means. Oh yea, your friends and stupid things you do in life are great inspirations.

Q: What's your family like?
A: I'm an only child, so i end up at home a lot, in my room, doing homework, on computer CG, or just sitting on my bed doodling. It gets boring fast. (No Cartoon Network or Nick. Oh yea, no internets either at home.) Other than that, i guess my family is an "asian" family. Not sure if i used that right.

Q: Is anyone else great at drawing in ur family?
A: My mom's good at drawing like ladies like the ones you see in the pictures of the fashion design sketches and stuff- she told me it's been a kind of dream job to be a fashion designer... My dad... not so much. I asked him to draw a cat once and I lol'd so much. but it was a cute fugly cat. XD

Q: Can i use your oracle dragons in my fics?
A: No. Sorry, the oracle dragons are my own original creations, and it took me a long time to come up with some of them, especially the oracle dragon of light, dreams, void, universe, and darkness. You can use them in your fanart, as long as you have consent from me.

Q: how old are you?
A: Read my profile.

Q: Are you a guy?
A: NO. I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. I AM FEMALE. THE WORLD "SLIFERTHESKYDRAGON" IS NOT MALE IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE.

Q:Who is your favorite Yugioh character?
A:It's pretty obvious, but it's Yami Yugi. My most favorite "version" is the orachailchos-possessed and Pharaoh. So evil. Yay.

Q:Who is your favorite monster?
A:...Slifer the sky dragon. Duh.

Q:Who would your Ka(soul) monster be (that is actually playable)?
A: Dragon of destruction, gondola (from the ygo series) and the Oracle Dragon of Light (OC)

if you could steal anything from any YGO character what would it be?
A: Dartzs' Orachalchos (sp?) Pendant. Because it looks awesome and proabably hurts when you hit someone with it. That and it gives you evil powers. Mwhahahaha.

Q: Have you ever met Dan Green? (VA for yami yugi)
A: Sadly, no. If i did, i WOULD NOT SQUEAL INCESSANTLY LIKE A RABID FANGIRL. I think i had a legit e-mail, but "he" stopped replying due to hate email/ flaming.

Q:What is your reaction to people calling yugioh \"You-gay-ho\"?
A:Call it that and you burn in hell. Yugioh Yaoi is fan based- so don\'t mistake it as the actual series.

Q: Why is everything slifertheskydragon everywhere you go?
A: I like the dragon. Janime, konami, yugioh-forum.de, etc, if i'm on a forum, i'm Slifer the Sky Dragon or slifertheskydragon. I am also yami demon kyo in a few places as well. If anyone finds anyone using slifertheskydragon@hotmail.com as their e-mail and it\'s not me, please tell me who they are and the site you found it on. I hate getting their email. If you registered for something and you use my email, i will change your password and make you spam swears everywhere.

Q:What mediums do you like to use?
A:CG is obvious, because i think it's faster than coloring by hand. But i still enjoy using paint mediums like watercolor (not oil.... terpentine... oy.) Pen and ink do just fine to. But i just like to use a good ol' pencil.

Q:Where were you born?
A: Not sure why people were asking me this, but i am currently in CA, and i was born in Jackson, Mississippi.

Q: For your "lineart" or pen works, do you use pencil first, or just pen all the way?
A: For "lineart" (simple outlines, fewdetials) i usually have to start with pencil, or proportions will be all wrong... for the "scribbly" works ,like atemuxyugi in the nile, those are full pen, no pencilm no erasing. i tend to draw those when i am REALLY bored...

Q:What are copic markers? (also, where do you get them?)

Q: Do you have any suggestions as to how to learn a foreign language? I read in one of your 'artist's comments' things that you were learning Japanese. I also want to learn Japanese...but I don't really know how to start
A:-- I'm taking Japanese at school. That's the way I learn Japanese... Chinese, I was kinda... born with... my parents taught me to talk in Chinese first, I learned English in American elementary school.

Mountain Music

There's a story behind this series of images, and here it is. (and it might be interesting to anyone living in Gresham, Oregon or whoever may have driven through there)

I moved to Oregon over 20 years ago and somewhere near that time, I passed through Gresham and saw an outdoor wall mural. I'm fairly certain that at sometime or another all of you reading this have seen or experienced some thing in particular that affected you very strongly, on some level, and you've never forgotten it. It also brings back the same feeling every time you experience or see it again, just like the first time.

Well, for me, this mural was at least one of those things. I think it affected me so deeply because I love music so much and even have had and played around with a guitar for many years, although I'm not that good in spite of all those years.

Also, I think the effect on me stuck with me so long because I also love the outdoors and to me, nothing could be better than to be standing on some high point with a great view and all the wild places of some beautiful countryside like here in Oregon stretching out all around you; the Summer sun lighting the scene and warming your face, and making music for the sheer joy of it!

This mural in Gresham has all these concepts and feelings and emotions all rolled up into a scene of, providing my memory is recalling it correctly and not altered by time, a man playing a saxophone in the unlikeliest of places. He's standing at the edge of a very high cliff along what I take to be part of the Columbia River Gorge. The great depth of the gorge below him with a river running along it's bottom and the trees and cliffs of the land on the other side of the gorge, stretching out all around him. He and the entire scene are bathed in what appears to be the perfect amount of Summer sun, his back arched, face to the sky, as he plays for all he's worth!

I actually got goosebumps the first time I saw this mural because I could FEEL what he was feeling. Like being in an outdoor natural church, in the glory of how beautiful life on this planet can be. The sun feeling so good on your face, a slight breeze to keep you cool, perhaps an Eagle soaring past and smaller birds singing in all the surrounding trees; playing and singing in tribute to all the sensations that just being able to be there bring out in you. I recognize these feelings because I have been there, on that cliff in that very sunshine and felt these things.

I know, that's a little deep for a guy like me, but it's truly how the mural made me feel. Ever since that day, I have remembered those feelings every time I go on a hike or see some pretty scenery. And because I consider myself a photographer, I have wondered many times over the years if I could recreate that feeling in a photograph as opposed to the artist's brushes. Of course, this would mean hauling my only musical instrument, my guitar, up some very difficult hike. See, most anywhere here in Oregon where you might find that kind of scene, is by what I call a 'non-tourist' hike. Anyone that hikes in their area will probably know what I mean.

Anyway, here 20 some odd years later, I finally made up my mind to do it. One of the most scenic places I remember from my hikes was the trip to Tom Dick Mountain above Mirror Lake. The trip to the lake is only about a mile and a half and on up to the mountaintop only about another mile and a half and not too terribly uphill. Of course, we still hadn't gotten our Summer yet here in Oregon so there was a lot of snow that hadn't melted yet to get through near the top, but it was worth all the effort.

I took some shots with the guitar at the lake and some at the top of the mountain but I believe that the first ones I uploaded, this one and the one with the rest of Tom Dick Mountain in the background and the lyrics to a Leann Womack song, came the closest to capturing that feeling I was trying to reproduce. At least, when I look at it I feel that it does and I guess that's what's most important. But I'd love to hear what any of you think...especially those of you who may have seen this mural.

I must say, i think i finally got this outfit thing figured out.

You see, i was struggling a bit because i was trying to take into consideration the the outfits the official girls wore were in some sort of way part of there color scheme, meaning it was darker or lighter than there fur color.

Examples:
Amy and her red dress
Blaze and her dark purple dress shirt thing
Cream and her orange dress
Wave and her white and purple jeans and top.

The list can go on!

But im not gonna do that.

Besides the fact most of the girls wear dresses, I think this outfit is the best one that actually meets those requirements (and it has a skirt too, but it can be removed~)

Back Story:

When Kate was a little girl, her family lived in 'Treetop City', a place isolated and hidden from the Eggman Empire, a perfect place for a small family to live.

Kate was always adventurous, and wished that they could leave 'Treetop' someday. Unfortunately, during this time period, Eggman's Empire was on a rampage, and had been capturing Mobians, then turning them into mindless robot slaves for his empire.

So her younger years were spent in hiding.

As time passed, Eggman's empire has being beaten by the 'Freedom Fighters' and a young hero who's name soon became famous everywhere.

Kate was now turning 8 years old when 'Treetop City' came out of hiding and was introduced to the rest of the world. The city didn't have to hide anymore, so it started to become more like a city (except for the fact the buildings were in the trees).

Kate's birthday was approaching very soon, and now that they didn't have to hide anymore, she knew what her birthday wish would be.

On the day of her birthday, Kate's grandmother took her aside and decided to tell her a special story told throughout their Family's timeline.

The story said; 'Once every 1,000 years, a single star fell from the sky near the Hills of Monark; and if someone catches the star, they will be granted one wish.'

Being a little girl, Kate was in 'ah' by this story.

Her grandmother continued.
'However, if the wish is based on greed, the wish turn against the wisher, which is why they must make a wish from their heart, a wish based on true feelings, and love.'

With a twinkle in her eye, Kate had made a new birthday wish.

Her wish was to see this magic falling star.

As months passed, Kate had forgotten her birthday wish (like most 8 year olds).

It was January 1, at 9:00 pm; Kate decided to sneak out and watch fireworks go off in the city at the Hills of Monark.

As the last remaining fireworks went off all over the city, something had caught Kate's eye. It looked like a firework coming way to close.

She got a better look at it, and she realized that it wasn't a firework.

It was a falling object that was coming towards her.

Kate ran after it, trying to get as close to it as possible. She put her hands out and closed her eyes.

There was a bright flash in front of her, she had caught a star, but not just a star, it was a black star.

Kate observed it close, it looked like a piece of shinny coal with a white hue around it.

She giggled to herself, knowing this must be the star her grandmother told her about.

Then she stopped and though about the story again, remembering greedy wishes will turn against the wisher.

She thought and thought, and whatever she thought of, she would change her mind, thinking it was a greedy thought.

Kate began to think about her parents, and how they want her to be safe and out of harms way.

An idea came to her mind, protection from harm for when she starts traveling! It's not the best wish to her, but it was the best wish she could think of.

She took a big breath and wished "I wish for someone to protect me, like daddy protects mommy and I, someone who will always keep me safe and out of harms way, someone who really cares about me."

With a few sparks from the Black star, it let out a bright flash of white light, making Kate fall over.

It disappeared from her hands, but left a black star mark on her face.

Years passed, and as Kate grew up, her family finally decided to let her go off to Central City, now that Eggman's Empire is under control, and there is a military, they finally thought it was safe enough for her to go off on her long wanted trip.

Kate was 15 when she left 'Treetops'.

As soon as she arrived to Central City, she became very savvy with current events, like the name of the mysterious hero she heard about long ago (Sonic the Hedgehog) and that the Military headquarters was stationed in Central City.

As time passed, she heard that Shadow the Hedgehog (c) was part of G.U.N. (the military: Guardian Units of the Nation). Kate had grown a small crush on him, and an opportunity opened up to see him in action.

G.U.N. allows a small group of people to view their training sessions every so often, Kate was one of the few people chosen to see.

Unfortunately for her, it turned out that Shadow wasn't training that day, due to the fact that he himself was in the viewing platform above the training auditorium.

It turns out that they were training a new agent, a guy named "Blade".

She wasn't interested in a new guy, so she didn't pay attention at first, and let her mind wonder and daydream about Shadow.

When Blade arrived in the auditorium, he caught her eye, which was when Kate started to pay close attention.

Blade was a tall fellow compared to the average Mobian, he was 4 ft tall, had black and yellow fur, and red eyes.

Kate thought to herself 'No wonder people got them mixed up, they look similar..." She turned her head and looked at Shadow again. 'Well, maybe not...." she thought, turning her attention back to the training session.

Afterwords, she started to grow a bit fawn about this "Blade" guy. Kate asked the secretary for a number or an email she could contact him buy, but it turns out, he was living in the same apartment complex she was.

Not wanting to be a creeper, she didn't visit him.

After talking with the secretary, Blade was informed that a young echidna girl wanted to contact him, but he didn't take note of it too much.

As weeks passed, she didn't go back to G.U.N, but continued her normal routine.

One night, Kate was planning her next place to visit when there was loud music playing from the upstairs apartment.

Kate went upstairs and knocked on the door.

It was Blade's apartment.

She didn't say anything for a few seconds, but then remembered why she came up to the next floor. She asked him to turn down the music, and he kindly did so.

Blade started talking to her, he remembered seeing her once in the viewing platform for his training session, and asked if she was the one who asked for his contact information.

She confessed, and as if she had better things to do, she just left, saying thank you as she walked away, leaving him in the dust.

She didn't visit him again at all, but he was constantly on her mind for some reason.

One day, she was bringing groceries up to her apartment building, continuing to daydream about that guy,when she slipped going up the stairs.

To her surprise, someone had caught her, and of corse, it was Blade.

He causally stood her back up on her feet and handed her the groceries that she dropped. "Might want to get your head out of the clouds" he said with a smirk. She rolled her eyes a bit and continued on.

Before she got to far, Blade invited her to a special training session tomorrow at G.U.N.

Thinking he was being a bit cocky, she left the offer hanging with, "We'll see stud."

The next day, Kate did attend the so called 'special session'. She was informed that it was a ability demonstration for Blade. Apparently he is called "Blade the 'Dark' Hedgehog" because of his powers. Again, thinking it was a bit cocky, she sat down and watched.

The commander and Shadow were on the viewing platform again just like before. Kate overheard them talking about Blade's personality test, and heard that he scored highest in "protectiveness".

She didn't take note of it too much, and watched at the session began.

Blade's powers were based off of dark matter manipulation, like controlling the shadows and forming things out of them. The whites of his eyes turned black due to the usage of these powers as well.

As Kate continued to watch, after awhile, she realized something, and thought back to her wish.

She softly put her hand on her cheek where the black star mark was and said, "Thats him, that's my wish. He's my black star".

I'll never leave you..alone

Days went fast and slow. Serena, Arisu and Haruka were sad from that their sensei where gone after the attack in Konoha. All in the village thought he was dead. It was almost impossible for them to believe..that the Copy Ninja was dead. Some people didn't believe he was dead..they thought someone from another village kidnapped him or helped him. Everyone upon the Village felt sorrow. The copy ninjas Sensei and comrades was really sad. Obito on the other hand cried when he was at the memorial stone. Y-You always..treated me with respect..even if you bitched about rules and all..but you were always there for me..ghhk... Obito rubed his tears, but they kept coming and coming. Rin went to Obito and huged him tightly feeling the same pain as Obito did. Minato huged them both and cried also. They we're all crying for Kakashi.
Serena was more destroyed than ever. Imagen you losing someone really important to you. That's how Serena felt at the moment, even though, Haruka and Arisu tried to cheer her up. They wanted to see her smile again. Not be teard down. Serena refused to go on missions, refused to eat, she basicly refused to everything, she just wanted to lay on her bed and cry day and night. Even when She read her book, she just saw Kakashi everytime. You could tell that Serena really missed him.
One day, Haruka, Arisu, Minato, Obito and Yamato walked to Serenas apartment to see how she was doing. Obito opened her door. It was very silent in her apartment. Usually when Obito came to her house she was either doing something like, watching tv or drawing with loud music on, but now..It was really dead silent. They all walked in to her apartment. I hope she's okay.. Arisu looked down a bit sad. Obito and the others went to her room, seeing her layed down with her face on a pillow sniffling and mumbling Sensei. Haruka and Arisu walked over to her and sat down on her bed. Serena... Haruka began. You haven't been out in days..It's not healthy being inside all the time.. Haruka pated her head. We miss the happy you.. Arisu said still being sad. Serena didn't replie, she continued to sniffle and cry. ...Sensei.. Serena said quietly. Obito looked at Serena. Never had He seen her so down. This was the first time Obito saw her like this 'So you really loved him..ne..nee-chan..' Obito had actually accepted that they were together. He wasn't mad at them. He was actually happy for them..although he didn't show it. H-Hey...come on sis...We don't like seeing you all sad..we want the happy Serena back.. Obito sat down beside Haruka and pated her shoulder. I know it must be hard..but..that's how it is..in this evil world. Obito sighed with sadness. Minato and Yamato stood there worring about her. They all know how she felt at the moment. They felt her pain but there was nothing they could do..but trying to cheer her up. Serena suddenly turns around and sits up with tears falling. Obito, Arisu and Haruka huged her. W-Why did you all come..here..I'm fine... Serena said while whiping her tears and sighing heavily
We were all worried..We haven't seen you in days Serena.. Minato said.
Yeah..And..well..we wanted you to join us at Ichiraku Ramen..to eat. Yamato rubed the back of his head.
Serena was silent, but she went with them, she was just going to the bathroom and put some random clothes on and clean her face from all tears she have had.

They went out to Ichiraku, they had fun and of course they laughed much. But Serena wasn't that much in a mood. But she tried to laugh, althought they noticed she was still sad about her sensei..They were all..but they wanted to put it aside even if it hurted so much.
Some hours later around 10-11 pm they went home, they waved to each others and said bye. Obito took company with Serena. He thought that she needed some support at the moment. They didn't talk much. Like they used to before, but Obito understood why. Obito huged her tightly Cheer up..please. Serena... He leted go of her and said bye to her leaving her at her apartment door. Serena opened her door, closed her door, took of her shoes, she grabed a chair and sat at her besides her window in her room. She looked up to the moon and saw all stars that was sparklying in the night sky. She closed her eyes and suddenly tears came falling again. She placed her hand at her heart while griping her shirt. So much pain was inside of her, wishing that the Copy Ninja was there with her. Holding her tightly and give her kisses..

.:At the Main entrance:.

A man came with his vest on his left arm hanging down holding his stomach with his other hand. Shit..my stomach still hurts..dammit.. It felt kinda weird coming back after being gone for like 2 weeks..Though He only had one on his mind at the moment..He knew it would be weird by coming back just all of a sudden and see her..but he couldn't resist to see her. He had to..He really missed her. He decided to run as fast as he could to her apartment. Half way there he stopped holding his stomach. Ghhk...so hungry... Kakashi was outside at Ichiraku. He went in and orded a bowl of Ramen and ate it fast and was feeling better. So he began to run again.

.: Serenas apartment:.

Serena was drawing a portait of the sky. It was hard for her to draw while shaking so much and crying. Ah screw this! Serena threw her drawing stuff at the side, she covered her face with her hands and cried more. Kakashi..sensei...I miss you..ghhk..Please...ghkk.. come back..to me.. She sniffled more and cried more.

.: Outside of Serenas door:.

F-Finally...huff huff I'm finally here.. Kakashi catched his breath back and opened her door. He thought she might of fallen as sleep, But ass siin as he went in her Room she saw her covering her face with her hands and crying.

Serena noticed that someone came in, but she didn't turn around to see who it was. And of course she though it was Obito. What do you want Obito.. she asked sniffling.
Kakashi didn't say a word until he sighed I'm Home.
Serena shot her eyes wide open turning around with tears, she couldn't believe it was Kakashi Ka-Ka-Kakashi...is it really you...? She covered her mouth still crying. Kakashi nobed, walked towards her and huged her. I've missed you...
Serena didn't know what to do..all she did was crying..and she knew he hated to see her suffering.

His hug was warm. ..I thought....that you..died.." Serena sniffled

Kakashi let out a smal chuckle I won't die that easily..after all i'm the Copy Ninja.."

Serena let out some more tears, she basicly couldn't stop crying. "B-Baka..Don't leave me again.."

Kakashi closed his eyes hugging her tightly " Don't worry..I won't..."

H-How can you be so sure!? What if there will be a mission and somethings goes wrong? And You'll.... Kakashi huged her tighter That won't happen. I'll be careful. Serena holded her tears back
But what about in the future? How can you know if we are still together then huh? Serena gripped his shirt tight.
Well.. Kakashi began. That depends..Will you love me forever? He asked still hugging her and feeling her shivering.
Of course I will, baka! Will..you? She said quietly..
Of course..I'll always love you no mather what. Then..can you promise me something..? He closed his eyes for a sec
Promise you..what?
Kakashi pulled her back and looked into her eyes That when all this is over..You'll marry me.
Serena stood still and lost her breath for a 2 secs. But then smiled at him ...Yes..I promise you.. Kakashi smiled behind his mask of happiness, he draged his mask down and kissed her passionately. They both were happy now. Feeling each others again was what Serena missed most. Kakashi liftded her up and layed her down gently on her bed with him on top. (( THEY DO HAVE CLOTHES ON! OKAY PERVERTS!? XD )) And they had the most wonderful night ever. ((...imagen it....*nosebleeds* ))

Music is My Love

My first art of 2011! And its epic and rainbowy! Download for the fullsize of this version of it (the original is even bigger.)

I realized how old my front page looks, it was time for a fresh update that shows off my talents better! So this is my new ID, its very me. I decided to aim for a more realistic picture for this one, just to challenge myself. I had tons of time where I couldnt move thanks to my recent surgery so a big piece was a perfect distraction. This is of course shrunk down quite a bit, the original piece is ~3000x4000 pixels, the biggest canvas Ive ever worked on. And it made my poor laptop scream in agony. >.< Ive been working on and off of this piece for about two weeks now but I think total I worked about 20+ hours on it, not really sure though.

There are some tweaks that I dont like about it, and some things that I completely messed up on and will remember to fix the next time I try to tackle something this big. Also, yes I am naked, because usually I dance around to my music while changing, and no I dont have headphones like that.but I want to! T.T

The background is a random selection of artists from my iTunes list, which is what I normally listen, nearly all the time. I have a very strange taste for music. Most people try to ask me what genre I enjoy and they expect me to name only a few, but really I like them all. The only exceptions to this is I dislike rap, country, and anything with too much screaming in it. So it freaks people out when my iPod goes from a techno song, to a classical song, to a hip-hop song, and then to a rock song. I love anything that makes me want to dance or sing to it and I never understood people who only like one or two genres, there is so much more out there!

Back to Basics

We went for a hike recently, really more of a walk, because where I wanted to go had much more water covering the whole beach below, compared to the first time I'd discovered the area. Therefore, we couldn't continue onward.

However where we had to stop, was extremely beautiful.

I had been realizing lately, that it had been quite a long time, since I've uploaded anything new of myself, and I was hoping to make a new I.D., with the results of the shoot...

There are a few that are different enough, that I like well-enough, that I could choose from, but it will be difficult.

This is the first one, and I don't know how many more I will actually share, but no more for now.

Character Discription:
Calli is a happy-go-lucky hedgehog who is a lost princess of a well known kingdom. Calli lost her memories ten years ago and slowly recovered them as she grew up. However, not all of her memories returned. She is very subborn and won't take no for an answer, especially when it comes to shoes. She does her best to make sure everything and everyone is always happy and she does her best to help out, no matter what it may be.

Character Story:
Calli's story begins like any other day, but one night, a mysterous hedgehog named Indigo confronted Calli and had frightening and unknown intentions. Memories flew back through Callis' mind as Indigo continued to explain many things and just as Indigo began to ready himself to attack, Sonic the Hedgehog rescued her just in the knick of time.

Ever since that day Calli and Sonic have been friends. Calli fit in with everyone else just like that. But once she met Shadow she finally met someone who really steamed her brocoli. But surprisingly she soon discovered that this hate she had for him soon turned into a different feeling. The same thing happened to Shadow and they began their relationship together.

After some wild and crazy adventures Calli and Sonic face one of their toughest battles and they somehow pull through. Calli recovers all of her memories after the final battle and truly uncovers her past of being a Princess. She resigns her duty of being a princess and goes on her way being a free hedgehog. Afterwards she joins G.U.N. as a researcher an avoids fighting as much as possible unless her skills are needed.

So I've been wanting an ID for a while now and I finally got one done!

I was going to do an ID with all of my "versions" of Masami, but got really lazy and did this instead. I figured Pokemon Masami was the best representation of myself anyways

The background is a mesh of random symbols of things I'm into

For those who can't tell, this is what you should be able to tell about me from this drawing: Spanish is awesome, FMA is incredible, the sky is pretty, video games are super fun, music makes life better, pokemon is my childhood and Raichu is the best one of them all. Masami's my main character and I like drawing hair.

World Trade Center remember

Today is it 10 years ago World Trade Center falls from the sky and take thousands of peoples life .. This is something who have make a scar in my heart and it will never go away. It is hard to tell how this day is for me. It is just something who drag in my heart this day and I have nightmares about it.
When I become a My Chemical romance fan I haved no idea that Gerard had seen it whit his own eyes. When my beloved told me he had I was like heart breaking for him. And the song he wroth will for ever be in my heart. It is a amazing song full of desperation care and a strength. It si something in his voice that makes me strong. It is a really scream for what eh saw. It is just go right up in the sky to tell what he feel. It is magic for me.
I had panic after a night mare some days ago and write this. It is a.. well some thought about Gerards song Skylines and Turnstiles. So this words and thougt is for him and all the MCR fans out there also all the humans who died that morning. Just thinks ripped from my dream Gees song and my heart.

I started working on the picture following my tag line "electric gui-art" (a spoonerism, GUI for "Graphical User Interface").

As I wanted to increase the music side, I decided to work on it as I would do for an album cover, heavily influenced by some progressive rock album covers and the last Justice album "Audio Video Disco".

The result is a little bit bombastic but...there's the ladybug.

Maximum The Hormone

Maximum the Hormone was founded in 1998 in Hachiojo, a suburb of Tokyo. The original members were Daisuke, Nao, KEY and SUGI.

After a couple regional gigs, the band signed a contract with the indie label Sky Records. A.S.A Crew was the first album released under that label. At that time Daisuke wrote his songs only in English, besides that Maximum the Hormone was also written in Latin letters. That changed when KEY and SUGI left band in 1999.

While looking for new members to join the band, Nao thought of her younger brother Ryo, who had been playing the guitar since his years in Junior high school and could sing very well, too. From then on, the two men split up most of the vocals between the two of them: Daisuke taking care of the more screaming and rap vocals and Ryo the more melodic parts. Ue joined as well, completing the quartet as the bassist. After that major change the band decided to base their lyrics and band name on katakana to show what change happened with the replacement of the band members.

In August 2000, the band released their first single Bullpen Catcher's Dream and one year later their first mini album Otori. But the first real success came with the publication of the single ROLLING1000tOON which was used as ending theme for the anime Airmaster in 2003.

In 2004, after the release of their fourth album, the band signed with major label VAP. That year they released two singles, but it wasn’t until the following year when they released their album, Rokkinpo Goroshi, did they tour throughout Japan to promote the album.

After more or less successful releases the quartet published the single Koi no Mega Lover in 2006 hitting number 9 in the Oricon charts, which was a huge achievement for this young band.

In February 2007, Maximum the Hormone contributed with What's up, People?! and Zetsubou Billy, the opening and ending theme respectfully, to the anime DEATH NOTE, because they were sure about one thing: If their music suits one anime than it has to be DEATH NOTE. The contribution the O.S.T. of this anime helped the gain much popularity for the band.

Maximum the Hormone has proven that they’re definitely a band to keep an eye out for; within a short period of time they gained a large fan base in Japan, which is even noticeable outside of Japan. Since Maximum the Hormone has improved the quality of their sounds with every album release you can expect the most from them.

As a foal, Zephyr had always been terrified of flying, walking along the clouds of his home city to get here and there; needless to say, he didn't go anywhere he wasn't required to. But when a strong gust of wind knocked him from his perch one day, he was forced to conquer his fears and fly, and the feeling it gave him had been exhilarating. That was the day his cutie mark appeared, which represents the grace and strength of the Western Wind, and is emulated through his passions for the arts of music and dance.

Character Summary:
Zephyr Blue is a very timid pony, easily startled and put off by the abrasive attitudes of some. As such, he doesn't have anypony he can truly call a friend; he much rather prefers the company of birds anyway. His music and dances are often inspired by observing his avian friends. In his free time, he loves sky-dancing, singing and playing piano, but instantly freezes when in front of an audience; he is a rather self-conscious individual. His self-esteem has always been low, which often interferes with the way others perceive him.

He had always been a bit of a loner; growing up, he was ridiculed because of his non-masculine frame and attitude. He tried not to let it bother him, but growing up without any friends was still very difficult for him. His parents both tried to offer as much support as they could, but neither them nor the birds could really fill the gap. His days were for the most part spent at home, practicing music. But when he discovered his cutie mark, things in his life began to change. Not for the better, and not for the worst; they just changed.

When he showed up to school with his flank marked, his peers' interest in him began to grow. They all wanted to know what his talent was. The attention he was receiving was simply too much for him, and so his responses were all mumbled. After a full day of prying, he needed to let loose, and what better way to lose himself than dance? But one pony saw him flying, and how beautifully he danced amongst the clouds, and rumour of his talent began to spread. Soon everypony wanted to see him in action. It became a bit overbearing, but after a few days of pressure, he finally gave in. He tried dancing for them, but he simply couldn't muster the will to do so with all of them watching, and so the rumours were "debunked", and the others returned to ignoring him.

Since then, his self-esteem has increased slightly, but he still can't perform for multiple individuals. His compositions have been used in many movies, and performed by the likes of musicians such as Octavia, yet despite this, not many a pony know this. His dances, on the other hand, are rumoured to be amongst the most beautiful in all the land, but few are privileged enough to see them. Still after all these years, he prefers to perform for himself and the birds than for others.
He is a very graceful and agile pony, which is where he draws his strength from. When flying, he lets the world around him dissolve, and nothing matters but the feeling of the wind rushing by him.

Much to his dismay, he has a severe case of insomnia, and rarely ever has the opportunity to get a full-night's rest. This only furthers his aesthetic state of frailty, though it doesn't seem to impede upon his physical performance. He does not know why finds difficulty sleeping, but nothing he has tried thusfar has seemed to help his condition.

As our amazing year was coming to a close, the girls, specialists, and I decided to go for a swim. I wanted to surf and spend time with my old friends too.
I couldnt help but, think about Jesica and why she left. I was remembering all the days she and I came to the beach for my surf meets.
"I miss the old days." I said aloud.
"Me too." screeched Stella, I was brough back into reality when I realized I said that out loud.
"Yeah..." my voice trailed off, I took off my wrap and grabbed my board and just paddled out to see.
"Is she ok?" asked Caleb.
"Yeah, shes just thinking about Jesica." said Bloom as she put a comforting hand on his shoulder.
"And the "good old days."" Mocked Stella but she didnt realize what that meant until she looked up at all the frowning faces looking at her.
"What? What did I say?" she asked then looked at Caleb as he stared out onto the sea watching his beloved shredding waves like a knife.
"She's really good." said Flora.
"Yeah looks like shes flying on the waves." said Brandon.
"Dont tell her that." said Caleb in a stern voice.
"Why?" asked Brandon scratching his head.
"This is the only non magic thing she has left in her life." Caleb replied.
Brandon just inched away awkwardly towards Stella.

The rush of the wind, the roar of the ocean, this was my favorite place to be. I was going so fast it felt like...lightning.
As I was coming up over a barrel, I heard a familiar voice.
"Well hey there, looks who back in action." this voice sounded full of ego, I knew who it was without even looking in the direction from which it came.
"Yes Brad, im back." I said looking over at him.
"Whoa, you look different." he hollered over the wave.
I just smiled and flew past him and did a 360 spin in the air, when I landed the wave dyed down.
As I sat there floating on my board Brad paddled up next to me.
"Hmm seems your make over had made you better." he joked.
"Ive always been better than you. Even after 4 years of no training or even riding im still better than you." I joked back.
His face go serious then, once I noticed so did mine.
"Go Briegh!" I could hear the girls cheering for me.
I turned to look at them, and I blew Caleb a kiss, he pretended to catch it. It made me laugh.
"Oooh is that your boyfriend?" Brad mocked in a little kid voice.
"No my Fiance'." I said as I showed him the opal ring on my finger. His face froze for a second, then I took of at the site of a wave coming up from the horizon.
"See ya at the shore." I hollered, as I was paddling for my life.
I knew his arms were bigger so I was glad when I got that little head start.
"Hey, cheater." he hollered.
"NO your just slow!" I hollered back.

As the wave rose so did my board, then as I knew I was at the top of the wave, I could see Brad trying to paddle up to it, then the wave began to grow and grow. I looked over at the girls and saw pink bubbles around Aisha. I smiled, I knew she was helping me win.
"Hey using your powers is cheating!" hollered Brad.
I forgot all of Gardenia knew we were fairies. I didnt care I did so many summer saults and tricks on that wave. When I came down I just smiled at Brad and began to paddle back towards shore.
As I was watching the girls hollering and cheering for my victory, their hollering became frantic and more frequent.
When I turned around, there was a wave coming right for me, with Brad on top of it, as I paddled with all my might, I was too exhausted to transform. I could see Caleb and the other guys coming into the ocean. I could see the waves shadow over me, then when I looked up I saw the bottom of Brad's board so I jumped off mine.

"Whoo hoo!" Take that Briegh. "Wait Briegh?" said Brad as he noticed Briegh's board had no rider.
"BRIEGH!" screamed Caleb as he dove into the water. He came right back up when he didnt see her.

I was so mad that I just burt into Believix.
I flew out of the water like a rocket.
"You think your so smooth dont you Brad? You should know better than to make a fairy mad." I said, I couldnt control myself I had this urge to just make him disappear.
"Briegh dont!" said Bloom.
"AHHHHH!" I said and blasted towards him.
"Dragon Sphere!" said Bloom.
"What? What happened?" I said.
I flew back to shore and before I got to the ground I already powered down and I felt dizzy.
"Briegh, Briegh are you ok? What was that?" asked Caleb and I could hear the girls too.
"You guys I dont know what's wrong" I said as I looked up at them.
"Briegh, your eyes....they're glowing." said Flora.
"What? do you mean." I asked.
"Whoa, they stopped." said Musa.
"We need to get you home." said Stella.
Then I got a message from my mom.
"Wait!" I said as I could feel my body half way off the ground. Caleb was helping me up.
"My mom needs me home, she said for all of us to be there." I said, everyone was just as confused as I was.

We got back to the apartment and I holographed my mom.
"Hey mom." I said.
"Hey Hun, hey girls and guys." my mom smiled.
"Hey your majesty." they said in unison.
"Did you get my message?" she asked with glee.
"yes ma'am, I received it while I was surfing, and something strange happened." I added.
She looked at me attentively.
"Well I kinda...lost control of my powers, and almost hurt someone." I kinda joked.
Her face was stern.
"Hmmmmm, Ill need to get here as fast as the stars, you hear my Selainya?" she said sternly.
"Yes ma'am." I said confused.
The holograph ended.
"Well you heard her, got to go." I said jumping up and grabbing my jeans and t-shirt.
I threw my hair up since it was getting on my nerves.

"Are we still coming with?" asked Bloom.
I looked up at my friends, who were all standing waiting for an answer.
"Well yeah sure, if you want to that is." I smiled.
"Um duh Orien has great fashion boutiques!" screeched Stella as she clung to Brandon.
"And the most beautiful forests." exclaimed Flora, Helia walked up next to her and out a trusting hand on her shoulder in agreement.
"Your mom always has the most up to date beats for such a old century style kingdom." Said Musa dancing in place. Riven caught her she tripped over her own foot.
"That's because of Talaya, after she your CD she fell in love with our modern music." I laughed.
"Oh and the food is to die for." said Aisha, Nabu smiled and rubbed his stomach.
"Man I wont have any internet service there." sighed Tecna.
Timmy smiled and rubbed his head, we all laughed.
"Briegh what if this thing with your powers is more serious than we thought, you mother seemed really worried about it." said Bloom as she walked up to me alone.
"I know Bloom but, lets not scare the others. I am worried too." I said as my face fell into a frown, she smiled at me and hugged me.
"Ok everybody ready?" asked Sky as he walked up to us.
"Ready!" we exclaimed, and the girls snapped their fingers and their bags appeared.
"Now, you guys know my mom is going to feed, house, and clothe yall Orien style right?" I asked kinda chuckling.

Reef the Otter SA style

*Here it is! My first art and SA style done with my new Wacom Bamboo tablet it's been hard learning how to use it properly, and i have to tell ya... its more comfortable and fast drawing with a tablet than using a mouse... totally, recommended inversion.

I'm so happy i could finish my art, maybe there's a few mistakes but i'm very happy with this, i've improved my SA a lot, and Reef's desing.

She's using new clothes that suits her better, and her proportions are the finest, she can stand side to side with the original SEGA characters and be proportional.

I'm really proud and relieved. I can rest in peace with her, now i HAVE to do some new art, complete a few debts*

_{I'm excited to announce that this photo was entered into the scholastic art awards and I won a gold key for it. Was quite shocked and very excited. It will be featured in the Butler University and is going on to Nationals in New York where, if it wins, will be featured in a museum, which would be pretty cool. Keeping my fingers crossed.

_{I'm suuuuuch a big fan of Animal Crossing. ;u; <3 It's just too adorable AND addicting! Plus, getting random presents that fall out of the sky is just the greatest thing ever. But I've never really drawn much fan art of it (well, any that'll do its style justice), SO HERE WE GO. C: BADA BING BADA BOOM, FAN ART.
...I love the music at 5:00pm in the original AC. :] And at 5:00 there are sunsets, and JEGUS I love me some sunsets. <3 Just one big ol' excuse to draw yet another sunset, eeheeheehee.
