_{I don't know, I just hate this excuse. I've seen it a hell of alot over the years, be it about music, art or 3D models.
Idiots will come up with any ridiculous excuse.

It honestly makes me wonder what they think about theft of real-life art, like the famous Mona Lisa.
They seem to think it's okay to say that fanart doesn't belong to the person that drew it, because they don't 'own' the character. Do these people believe artists whom paint portraits of actual people do not own their portraits, as the people in them are real and not 'copyrighted' by the artist? Because that's stupid.

If data was 'just data', I doubt Windows would be copyrighted by microsoft, or games like The Sims being copyrighted by EA.

These people seriously need to look up the laws regarding copyright. You know, there were people in my class when I was at college that were saying that if a song is old, it isn't 'copyrighted' anymore. They actually said that.
My teacher asked 'what about Elvis songs then?' and those people said 'that's different, everyone knows him'.

So why is it different if you're popular? Being well-known doesn't make you anymore 'human' than the rest of us. The laws that apply to famous people also apply to us, that's our human rights.
What do they think equality is?

Wow, I'm surprised at all the positive reaction (aka I haven't received any flames _yet from pedwardbear-humpers). I think that's because I always meant for this stamp to be as much a pro-Star Trek and pro-Data stamp as it is an anti-Twitard one. If you want undiluted anti-Twilight venom, there's the work of the ubiquitous ~Persnicketese and even my own Stamp 02. I'm just pointing out, in an amusing way, that unnaturally pale, golden-eyed guys weren't invented by Stephanie Meyer. A lil' bit o' info of me/my trainer;
So why poison team? Well, I've always been a huge fan of Koga, the Poisongym leader in Kanto. But I could never understand why he used Poison type - I was all about brute force, and well, I could bring down all of his pokémon with a single hit too. Then once, I happened to stumble upon an article about Koga, in bulbapedia, which said something about which he'd chosen the poison type; Instead of brute force, he likes to kill the enemy slowly, causing them pain as he does. IWASSOLD. D:
So I though I should try out this poison thing too - and GOD IT WAS PAIN PLAYING WITH A BULBASAUR. That little fucker kept on dyingand I missed my good old charmander so much. But eventually, I caught a caterpie, a nidoqueen and a nidoking and so on, and what do you know - Poison is one kick-ass type.
Oh, here I should note that I tried the same thing out with water pokémon - I still can't stand them. They're just too weak for me.

Oh, and whoever says that poison is good until a -insert type- walks across to you - well, lemmesay, Nidoqueen and Nidoking both learn surf, flamethrower, blizzard ETC so I had NO problem beating ANY challengers. SO HAHA, YOU DOUBTFUL MINDS!

He can grow basic things to keep himself alive and going. Veggies and fruit, some simple flowers and some spices, but in a general sense he is a novice when it comes to serious gardening.

Stamp Description
This stamp is made in response to a bunch of religious battles I see on Deviantart, YouTube, etc. 58 frames. Feel free to use. You need a subscription to use. You do not have to ask me if you can use it in your journals or shoutbox.

On a side note, I would've put others, but I couldn't find a symbol for them. I put a question mark for Agnostic I dunno if there is a symbol for them. And please by all means correct me on anything about the stamp (misspellings or misplaced symbols) or my rant ahead, there are probably a few holes. And by correct, I don't mean "God Exists!!!!", "There is no God!!" comments.

My opinion
You know, I just see a lot of these holy wars over the internet and real life. It's absolutely pointless, you aren't going to convert anyone. A person is strong in their belief and will not change it because someone says so, so save your time. Now if someone would simply like to know more about your belief, tell them about it in an adult manner. Don't shove it down their throat, just simply tell them about it.

And please treat others by who they are and not by their belief.

Another thing I don't like to see is people saying their religion is the only and absolute religion, and if you believe otherwise, you're doomed. This world is big, people from different places/backgrounds/history/races will believe in different things. People should have an open mind and accept all the others out there.

And just because a religious idea or belief clashes with your own doesn't make them wrong, and doesn't make you right. You have every right to believe what you want, and so do they. Most religions seem to have the same concept. It's a belief. There is no absolutely correct religion/belief, just a wide variety of them for you to choose what suits you best.

Extra Stuff. Sections briefly explain the more controversial beliefs.
I'll attempt to be as objective as possible.

Existence of a God
There is no way for a believer to prove this. Belief in a God is faith and faith only. However, there is no way for a non-believer to prove that a God doesn't exist. There are some things that science has been unable to reach. So both sides have valid arguments. Either trying to convert or convince each other is somewhat hypocritical. Just accept both sides. (This is mostly for the fight I see between Christians and Atheists.)

Christianity - Not all Christians will try to convert you or force their belief on you. And just because their explanation for the unexplainable is usually something holy or divine doesn't necessarily mean they're lazy and trying to dodge truth, nor does it mean they're wrong. As said in the argument above, God can't be disproved either.

Atheism - Atheism doesn't automatically equal no morals or Satanist. Atheism also isn't a religion, but has a strong stand point regarding religion. They don't believe in a god. They for the most part will believe something that can be proved, or at least supported with actual physical evidence. For things they cannot explain, only leaves room for science to discover. One thing I wish people would do is to stop damning non-believers to hell.

Evolution - Evolution is not an evil lie Satan created. Yes, evolution and religion tend not to intertwine, but that doesn't mean you can't believe in both. Evolution is seen as either fact or theory. The fact in science is an observation. Facts include objective measurements which can be either pieces of verifiable evidence, or the results of an experiment which can be repeated over and over again by different people. A theory in science is an explanation of those observations. Scientific theories describe the coherent framework into which observable data fit. (Sorry, don't have much of an argument here. To point out, it's also not a religion, but a theory that you can either accept or not. Its purpose in the stamp is it is sometimes brought up in a religious argument.)

Agnosticism - Agnostic doesn't mean Atheist. Agnosticism claims it is not possible to have absolute knowledge of the existence or nonexistence of a god or gods. An agnostic person can also believe in a god but believe there is no way to prove it (agnostic theist), or they don't believe in a god but know they cannot disprove it (agnostic atheist).

Scientology - Not all Scientologists are cultists or brainwashed. Scientology encompasses a spiritual rehabilitation philosophy and techniques, and covers topics such as morals, ethics, detoxification, education and management. Scientology believes man to be basically good, that his experiences have led him to evil. According to the Church of Scientology, the ultimate goal is: "a civilization without insanity, without criminals and without war, where the able can prosper and honest beings can have rights, and where man is free to rise to greater heights." Some examples of controversy :

Succession - After L. Ron Hubbard's death, David Miscavige succeeded him as the "ultimate ecclesiastical authority".
Training - Training is the supervised process of learning and applying Scientology and auditing and follows a checklist that indicates which of Hubbard's writings and lectures are to be studied. The student must demonstrate mastery of each topic in turn to get a pass in the checklist item. Students of Scientology often have to pay for these courses and training programs.
Censorship - Attempts to remove any material that speaks negatively or criticizes Scientology.
Sea Org - There have been a few reports of women who formerly worked in the Sea Org who became pregnant and were advised to get an abortion, if not, they were sent to lower organizations.
Others include the Fair Game and Disconnection Policy.

Examples such as the training program adds to the cult/brainwashed feel that people give Scientology. Scientology is possibly the most controversial religion to date. However, while you may not agree with Scientology, you can't say all Scientologists are bad. Bad folk come from all religions/beliefs. Not every Scientologist will take it to that extreme.

Free Zone (Scientology) - Free Zone practitioners practice Scientology-like beliefs independently from the Church of Scientology. Some follow the teachings of Ron L. Hubbard while some may practice beliefs not recognizable as Scientology. Free Zone is also referred to as Independent Scientologists or Scientology Freezone. They use Idenics in contrast to Scientology's Dianetics. Idenics' methods refer to by what a person wants to improve, rather than Dianetics series of graduations and targeted what Hubbard believed were problems common in all people that people should improve upon. Some of its members cooperate in investigating the Church of Scientology's methods. Many are critical of the Church of Scientology. Free Zone do in fact have auditors, but since most Free Zones are rebellious, they don't often do much.

Free Zone Scientology
In Free Zone, a person practices their own philosophy to better themselves and overcome hardships. They don't do things according to the Churches standards. Many of them are actually critical of their methods. Some have also cooperated in investigating the Church.

Some of the problems would be getting involved with the Church of Scientology or any of its organizations, taking Dianetics too seriously, or being blind and over-zealous (which is probably bad in most religions). Basically the heads of Scientology are the issue, who want money and use scare tactics or intimidation to obtain them. Go ahead and hate Scientology, there's understandable reason for it, a lot of Scientologists have done bad. But there are many more out there, many of which who probably don't end up like the ones you see in the media. These ones deserve respect. Judge Scientology by how it is with the individual.

Santeria - Practices include animal offering, dance, and song. The most controversial being animal sacrifice. Practitioners of Santeria point out that ritual slaughter is done in a humane manner. Priests in charge of sacrifice are trained to perform humane ritual slaughter. Furthermore, the animal is cooked and eaten. Chickens are the most sacrificed, being a very staple food among African-descended and Creole cultures. Animal sacrifice is practiced in many religions, more notably Judaism and Islam, though animal sacrifice has been excluded from rabbinic Judaism.

Paganism - Pagans do not worship the devil. Pagan comes from the Latin word paganus, which simply means "country dweller or rural". Paganism encompasses nature based religions, similar to Wiccan and Druidism. Paganism were traditional beliefs that were practiced in many countries (ex. Mayan Paganism in Guatemala) before the major religions arrived.

Wiccan - Wiccas do not worship the devil. Their religion is based on Nature. Beliefs vary amongst Wiccas. Most are duotheistic, believing in a God and a Goddess, who are seen as complementary polarities, and "embodiments of a life-force manifest in nature." Sometimes symbolized as the Sun and Moon, and from her lunar associations, the Goddess becomes a Triple Goddess with the aspect of the Maiden, Mother, and Crone. Another Wiccan morality is the Law of Threefold Return which states that whatever good or bad action a person performs will return to that person with triple force. The pentagram to them is a symbol of the four elements with spirit at the top.

Satanism - Satanism doesn't equal devil worship. Devil Worshiping in satanism is actually fairly small, a minority in a minority. A vast majority of Satanists frown upon the term Devil Worshiper. There are two main types of Satanism, LaVeyan and Theistic (also known as traditional or spiritual satanism). Others include Setian Satanism (Egyptian satanism with the deity as Set), Rebel Satanism, Modern Satanism (similar to LaVeyan), and Luciferian (tied with theistic satanism).

Rebel Satanism - More known as a Devil Worshiper. Satanism and Devil Worshiper are two different things. These are the Satanists that give other Satanists a bad name. These tend to consist of rebellious teenagers and drug addicts who use the "evil image" stereotype and have most likely have very little to no knowledge of true Satanism.

LaVeyan Satanism - LaVeyan Satanists do not worship the devil. LaVeyan Satanism is a mix of individualism, self-indulgence, and Social Darwinism. They have an eye for eye morality. LaVeyans instead use Satan as a representation for people's natural inner desires. They believe "we are our own god". Instead of worshiping an outside deity, a person should just take care of themselves and live the life that they are living now. Worship of an externalized God will exclude someone as a Satanist.

Modern Satanism - Most of this century Satanists belong here. Modern Satanism is roughly the same as LaVeyan Satanism with few differences. The biggest being for modern satanists is you won't see as many LaVeyan supporters. That doesn't mean that Anton LaVey is frowned upon.

Thiestic Satanism - According to Theistic Satanists, Satan blessed mankind with the forbidden fruit of knowledge of good and evil, therefore they see Satan as a source for good, which may also be used for evil. The Theistic Satanists do actually claim the existence of a Satan or Lucifer as a higher power or a guiding force, but they don't literally worship them. Satan is seen as a father figure.

Damn DA and their short titles.

Oh lord, where to start with this?

I've been a Pokemon fan for almost ten years now. I remember the very first Pokemon thing I saw, a promotional poster in one of my magazines shortly before the games arrived here in Europe, this poster had every one of the original 150 cast in a double spread page, and it completely captivated me, although I weren't to play the game for a few more months, I immediately put this poster up in my bedroom. All the different creatures completely fascinated me, they were all so interesting and unique, and I couldn't get over just how many there were.

It wasn't till much later when one day when I came home from school, turned on the TV, looked around for something to watch, and ended up watching a Pokemon episode for the first time. I remember the episode vividly; it was episode 4, the Butterfree one. And the creatures were as beautiful as my poster had shown.

But it wasn't just that, the connection and friendship that Ash and Metapod/Butterfree had struck something deep inside. Maybe it was just the fact that I myself was a lonely child, but I fell in love with the idea of traveling with companions that you catch, train, and battle together to reach your goal.

I got Pokemon Blue not long after and started playing immediately. The game was even better then the show, and the more I played, the more I got attached to my little team of Pokes.

As with many Pokemon fans, I got teased for liking it, but I was never ashamed. They may have just been game data, just pixels, but to me they were much more. I thought up personalities for them, and back-stories. I put all the work into training my little squad up until finally we faced the Elite Four. And eventually won.

That first feeling when you've beaten the Elite Four, and become Champion, thanks to all your training and hard work, not just yours, but your Pokemon too.. there's nothing quite like it.

Late last year, I was playing through my Japanese copy of Pokemon Pearl, and finally after what seemed like forever we reached the Elite Four. It was a long grueling challenge - my team were barely level 50 while all the Elite Four, and especially Shirona, were way stronger.

But I had faith and trust in my little team, we'd come through so much together; beaten the Gym Leaders, taken down Ginga Dan, even faced legendaries, and my faith in them came through. We pulled through regardless of everything the E4 threw at me. And when we finally defeated Shirona's last Pokemon, Milotic, as soppy and mushy as it is, I was so happy I cried.

I've loved Pokemon almost a decade now, and I'll continue loving it for a decade more, and even when I'll old and wrinkly if its still going by then XD; The magic of Pokemon is still there even after ten years, and it'll keep bringing us back for more, that's just what it does.

So to finish off, no. Pokemon isn't just a game. It isn't just a show either, and it most definitely is not "just a fad". It inspires us, it brings us together, and most important of all, it makes us, the fans, happy.

Because this world needs more happiness.

But that's just my opinion. What do you think?

I've been wanting to make a character book. Nothing special, just I figured that I could make and print out character profiles, put them in page protecters, and then collect them in a binder. I figured this would make keeping track of my hundreds of characters much easier.

This is my character profile sheet. I made it so that it would be more interesting to look at than a simple text profile. I also wanted it to have more information than a typical character profile, but still keep it small enough that it would all fit on a single sheet of paper.

Anyone is free to use it if you wish. You're also free to alter it (I realize that not everyone collects the same info on their characters). You don't have to ask to use it, but I do expect you to obey my rules.

Here's my DeviantArt ID of myself in Tim Burton Style. I've tried my best to draw myself accurately and use some features that are Burtonesque. As for the outfit I got inspired by Amy Lee's music video, "Everybody's Fool," where she portrays a Japanese School Girl. I also got inspired by Lydia Deetz's school uniform from BeetleJuice: The Animated Series. The only difference is that I added my own twist to the outfit. On the right side of my uniform I am wearing a Star Trek:TNG combadge. I know it's kind of hard to see it since it's really small so I decided to post a picture link: [link]

Why I'm passionate about stopping BSL (Breed Specific Legislation) - BSL is a legislation that has cropped up in many countries now. What it is is a list of certain dog breeds that are classified as being 'dangerous' and have various restrictions placed on them, or are being banned from being owned all together. The list varies from shire to shire, town to town, country to country, etc, but some targeted breeds are Cane Corsos, Dogo Argentinos, Pitbulls, Amstaffs and Staffies.

The reason I'm opposed to BSL is that it punishes the wrong end of the leash - irresponsible owners need to be the ones that are punished, not their dogs. Dogs are incredibly loyal, eager-to-please creatures and they will be whatever you want them to be. If someone buys a Pitbull in the hope of creating an aggressive, dangerous dog, that's what they're going to get.

There is no such thing as a 'bad' breed. Absolutely any dog has the potential to be aggressive - any dog can become aggressive through poor training, lack of socialisation, an aggressive or violent upbringing, bad leadership or bad experiences. Irresponsible owners create aggressive dogs and the dogs are the ones being punished. Dogs don't know right from wrong, they don't have morals or ethics and to place blame on them for something they have no control over is illogical and plain wrong. BSL could be helpful if it was used to educate people and restrict certain people from owning more difficult breeds, but right now all it does is result in the death of millions of dogs. People need to become more responsible owners, or simply stop owning dogs. I firmly believe that you should be required to have a dog ownership licence to own a dog, or at least certain breeds.

Pitbulls, Staffies and Amstaffs are all wonderful breeds with loyal temperaments. They will be whatever you make them. Irresponsible owners, along with the media, have helped promote a bad image for all these dogs over the past few years and it's now becoming impossible to own some of them, or even walk down the street with one without being abused.

Culling an entire breed is not the answer to dog aggression. Some breeds should definitely labeled as being more difficult to own than others, but to suggest killing them off completely is absolute insanity.

To sum it up simply; punish the deed, not the breed.

A few facts-

According to the American Canine Temperament Testing Association, 82.5% of the American Pit Bull Terriers that took the temperament test passed, compared to a 77% passing rate for all breeds on average. In the test, a dog is placed in a series of confrontational situations. The first sign of aggression or panic is a failure of the test. Pit Bulls have achieved the fourth highest passing rate of all 122 breeds tested.

7. Sgt. Stubby. A Pit Bull war hero. Stubby was wounded in action twice, he saved his entire platoon by warning them of a poison gas attack and he single handedly captured a German spy.

8. Pete the Pup on the orginal Little Rascals was a Pit Bull.

The infamous locking jaw is a myth. The American Pit Bull Terrier and related breeds are physiologically no different from any other breed of dog. All dogs are from the same species and none have locking jaws. Dr. I Lehr Brisbin of the University of Georgia states, "To the best of our knowledge, there are no published scientific studies that would allow any meaningful comparison to be made of the biting power of various breeds of dogs. There are, moreover, compelling technical reasons why such data describing biting power in terms of ' pounds per square inch ' can never be collected in a meaningful way. All figures describing biting power in such terms can be traced to either unfounded rumor or, in some cases, to newspaper articles with no foundation in factual data." -Are Pit Bulls naturally aggressive towards humans?
While many Pit Bulls do tend to be aggressive towards other DOGS (as are most terriers), the normal, well raised Pit Bull has NO human-aggressive tendencies! In fact, human-aggression was actually bred out of the breed. The majority of Pit Bulls are affectionate, intelligent, trainable dogs. In fact, the highest obedience trial record of all time is held by an American Pit Bull Terrier named Maddy!

-Can Pit Bulls "turn" on people?
In fact, no breed of dog does. Dog aggression is nearly always preceded by some kind of warning, and there is always a reason behind the attack. However, many inexperienced owners do not recognize the dog's behavior as aggression, or refuse to acknowledge it as a warning sign. The only exception I can think of is Springer Rage, a rare and controversial neurological condition that manifests itself as a spontaneous attack, followed by confusion, and then a return to normal behavior. Pit Bulls are NOT prone to this condition. There are individual dogs of any breed that may be more aggressive to others.

FINALLY. I got around to finish this. I did sketches around the time I designed the template, then I had a HUGE urge to watch Tamers in the original and subbed. So I didn't get around to finishing it until 3-4 days after. Blaaah. But it's worth it.
So here we go:

Adventure: Wizardmon (also known as, by myself, "wizzie" lol). Best. Digimon. From. The. Season. (hell the SERIES in my own opinion! XD ) Seriously creators ...he needed more screen tiiiime...and shouldn't have stayed dead! D8 It's not right!

Adventure 02: I never watched much of the season, or at least can't recall much of it. I must admit it's not one of my favorite seasons. But I remember Black WarGreymon. Or well just the emo version of WarGreymon. I mean it seriously when I say he was "emo"-tional. XD

Tamers: I loooove Tamers and a lot of the characters were great! Also after having re-watched the season I realized Culumon (or Calumon in the dub) is sooooo much cuter in the original RAW versions. The dub completely RUINED him for me. But still...Impmon is hands down my favorite. Maybe....also...because well...he digivolves to Beelzemon....UNF. *hipthrust*

Frontier: Fuck Frontier. Fuck. Fron-tier. I watched like...5 episodes. The one with the Wizardmon in it and then of course Sorcerymon and some random one here and there. So typically, Sorcerymon is the best for this excuse of a season. (and...of COURSE he had to get the ax as well!!)

Data Squad: I'm more used to calling it "Savers", but I dunno how many people know it from the subs or dubs. I'm not gonna DARE look for the dub. And I dumped the series halfway through. It really wasn't that good either. At least it's better than Frontier. I had a hard time deciding cause none of the Digis in the series had any character. But I seem to fall for the characters that are like Wizzie or Leomon that ALWAYS die heroically but...still tragically. So of course BanchoLeomon. <3

Xross Wars: Last but certainly not least...this season is full of GREAT characters. If it weren't for this Wizardmon of the season sexy badass Ba'almon I'd have put in Blastmon. Then there's Knightmon. And the Starmonz are so cute and silly. And Ballistamon. And omg Puppetmon and, and, alsdkfsd. I'm in love with this series. Still though. Baalmon looks like wizzie and...does actions like wizzie and (spoiler alert for those maybe watching: ...._{later...becomes.......} _{_{Beelzemon as well*fangirl*}} )

Update version 2.2. dA changed the modal box url for llama giving and cake giving. Because of this I had to change these in game. This results reset of scores, as flash forgets its data when new version is uploaded. I decided to update it so at least it works. If you have any question that isn't in the FAQ please comment or send me a note.

FAQ

It gives me people who doesn't even use dA. Why is that?
-It turned out form the 20million user dA has, lot of user just registered and left the site. This isn't just dA. Most websites works like this. Llama giving game just pick random people from all.

This kills the purpose of Llamas, because it doesn't show their profile page
-Yes, and no. If you want to see profile page before you give llama, try Llama Giving Game 1: [link] It uses deviantART's random URL, so you see people's profile page. The point of this version is to make llama giving fast for people who doesn't really care about who they give llama, but want random llamas back. (My experience is half of the people gives them back). Besides that the opened window shows the name of user, so it is possible to visit them (and lot of people does this)

I got spam filter triggered. What to do?
-Wait. It will disappear. I warn you again: do not give too much Llama too fast. This is a fast way to give Llama out, but it isn't good idea to spam Spam filter triggered around 80-100 llamas. PLEASE DON'T trigger it for fun. Most likely deviantART saves info about spam filter events, and who triggered it. Keep this in mind.

It would be better if it give llama automatically
-There is no way to do that (actually there is but that is illegal). I don't think deviantART will give programmers such power. That would be a disaster (imagine, I could automate random llama giving. The god of spam bots... )

I used CCleaner, I lost my score, and can't update my name in score list (I have a new entry in the list now)
-If you use CCleaner or any other computer cleaner software, you have to set it not to clean flash cookies / flash saved data. The score list identify you by an id that saved in the flash, with your score. The id is random and generated first time you use the app. If you lose this id, you get a new one and there is no way to get back the old one.

I see some bug. Will you fix it?
-If it is in the flash. No. Whenever I fix something and upload a new version, everybody lost their score. I don't want to do that. The main part of the game works, that is enough. If you find bug in score list, I can fix it if you point it out to me

Is this legal?
-As far as I know it is. It doesn't use anything that isn't public anyway. Even I made it easy to track to dA engineers with referrer info. (I am sure they can track it anyway). If there is a problem, I take the consequences.

XY group doesn't accept this to their gallery
-It is up to them to decide if they accept it or not. Please do not start fight over it, they always have a good point why. Most groups doesn't accept this because it doesn't visit actual user page. Thank you for the group submissions though!

Do you honestly think anybody will give cake to random deviant?
-Nope. I think nobody will use that function. But I made it because it works based on the same mechanism as Llamas. It wasn't hard to make it and it is just a little plus. Cakes are for money anyway. I don't think anybody will give cake for random people for 80

Other people can visit me with this?
-Yes. Randomly. You will not know if you somebody get to you by this though, except that person tells you.

I can press the button and don't give llama.
-Yeah, there is no way to check if gamer gives llama or not. It is up to you to play it right. Why pressing the button and leaving anyway? That isn't fun at all.

Score list gives me 404 error. What happened?
I don't exactly now. I happens time to time. My server provider isn't the best one, but free and they act fast when I write them email about problems like these.

Quick facts:

What is it? A Greasemonkey (GM) script for Firefox (FF) to show if a deviant you visit is one of your watchers.

History
1.3.5 -- 2008/06/26 -- Fixed for dA v.5! (watcher list)

v.1.3 - 2008/02/14 -- Added button in Message Center to add new watchers. Also renamed the file & script.
v.1.2 - 2007/11/12 - Handling several accounts.
v.1.1 - 2007/11/09 - Automatic scan of the list of watchers.
v.1.0 - 2007/11/06 - Creation.

Warning! This script was previously named "deviantART - Is this deviant watching you?".
I renamed it for various reasons, but since GM is using the name as key in the config, you have to uninstall the previous version, deleting also the associated preferences.
You will have then to re-install it and redo a full scan. Sorry for the inconvenience.

In the suggestion forum, I saw the Who watches you request, and it wasn't the first time... Apparently, lot of deviants want to know if a deviant watches them when they visit his/her pages.
I had the idea to write a Greasemonkey script to do this.

So, what do my script does? The screenshot says it all: If the deviant you visit (in his/her profile page, gallery or deviation) is watching you, the script adds on the right of the deviant name in the title bar a watch icon, so you can check this at a glance.
Also adds in the profile page a line above the Watch this deviant/Watching this deviant one.

In fact, if you edit the script (using Notepad for example, or a better editor if you have one!), you can deactivate the icon or the message, as you wish. See the comments at the start of the code to see how (lines below) those starting with //$$ Read these comments for instructions. It is better to do this before loading the script in FF, if you don't know how to edit it after...

If you have no watchers, well this script will do nothing...
If you have some watchers, when you go to your main page, you will see in the Recent Watchers box, on the right of the title, a new Update watcher list button.
If you have 20 watchers or less, just click on this button, and you are done: go visit some of your watchers, and see the magic works!
If you have more than 20 watchers, you have a Complete List link: click on it, a window listing the first 200 watchers (or less if, like me, you are an ordinary deviant...) appears, as usual.
Hit the End key and you go at the bottom of the page. Here, you have a checkbox and a button added by the script, below the navigation box.
For the first time, just hit the Update watcher list button. If you have 200 watchers or less, you are already done, close the window. Above this number, the script will load the next page in the window.
Just let it work through all the pages of watchers you have. At the end, like in other cases, a message box will display the total number of watchers found, confirming the end of the process.

Note: if you have a large number of watchers, like 20,000 to 50,000, the capture of the deviants can take a long time... You can even minimize this window and see the page numbers going in the title...
But sometime deviantART doesn't like these repeated requests and returns an error page. Or you closed the window, tired of waiting. Etc.
For these cases, there is a recovery/resume mechanism: go to the Complete List (first page), and click the Update watcher list button: the watcher capture will resume were it was. I was able to capture the 32,138 watchers of a deviant after many restarts...

What about new deviants?
If you have less than 20 new watchers, just click on the Update watcher list button in your profile page. The script will get the new names in this page and update your list.
If you are very popular or away for a long time, with more than 20 new watchers, click the Complete List link and in the Friends page, click the Update watcher list button. The page will be scanned. If the last deviant wasn't in the list, it is likely there are more, so the script will continue on the next page, until it finds a page full of known deviants.
If, for some reason, you prefer to regenerate fully the list (eg. to handle deviants no longer watching you), check the Rescan all check box and the script will clear the list and fill it again from scratch.
Note: the script doesn't handle automatically deviants no longer watching you: you have to rescan the
list to get rid of them.

Where does this list of watchers go?
I store it using the function GM_setValue. Greasemonkey puts these values in the user settings.
You can view these settings by typing about:config (and Enter) in the address bar of Firefox.
You can locate the settings of my scripts by typing phi.lho in the filter area: you will see GM creates the keys greasemonkey.scriptvals.http://Phi.Lho.free.fr//deviantART - Watching you?.xxx
You can even edit it... Or erase their content.
These settings are stored in C:\Documents and Settings\\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\.default\prefs.js.
Path to user data (C:\Documents and Settings) might have been changed.
Note that this file seems to be written only when Firefox is stopped.

If you like Facebook, I don't care. Your views will not sway me, so please don't come here with a whole rant about how MyFace iz ur laif.
However if you support my objection of Facebook, please feel free to use this anywhere you please. If used on a non-dA site, please credit!

Why do I hate Facebook / MyFace?
OK. MyFace was made for old friends to keep in touch with each other, in my opinion. Therefore, you don't need to join it to talk to friends you see everyday. So then why is my school filled with people who have nothing better to say than "I threw maggots at you on Facebook last night!" ?
...I'm not even going to bother going into how dumb that is.

Editedit: OK, so I've left school now, and [dundundun...] I got a facebook. I suppose... the only way it's really helped me is that I can easily share my photos with my friends, without having to email everything. Other than that, it really is a waste of time. I don't talk to my friends more often than I would if I didn't have it; FB is just a way of saying what you have done or are doing, which, if you didn't shout it out on FB, you would either forget about it because it was that uninteresting, or it would crop up in natural conversation later, or if it was really important, you would just pick up the phone and call them about it. I've been using FB for about a month and a half now, and all in all I've organised two meetings through it - one was a success because the note thread kept going on and on, so I didn't forget, but the other I missed, because it was only announced on FB and no-one called each other about it, so I forgot. It was the same for our prom as well - details were put up on FB before I became a user, and a lot of people were unclear about them. After I became a user, and looked at the group page, the details were still unclear. Just goes to show that nothing beats face-to-face communication, or even one-to-one, personalised communication through email. Trying to organise group events on FB, while it seems convenient, just ends up being messy because you don't really know what's happening.
That said, with nothing else to do this holiday, I have found "Farmville" to be particularly addicting...

Editeditedit 28/04/10: Sooo a few months on, it's been nearly a year since I got a Failbook. Rediscovered a grand total of 4 people from my childhood whose interests have since diverged and we hardly speak but 'we've got each other on facebook!', amassed 153 'friends', of whom about 25 are from university [lol], and blocked every application known to man on that site because damn, they are so annoying! I am no longer on a farm, in a restaurant, or in the mafia, and I do not need gifts for such jobs either. Looking at my news feed is just a minute-by-minute update on what groups my friends have joined [it's always the same ones, joining about 1000 a day]; some give a little chuckle, others are pointless, most are stupid. There are things I like about failbook, though: uploading photos [I have a nice little watercolour series going on there], and finding out what Pixar, Mew and Muse are up to xD

24/08/10: I love how this is turning into My Little Facebook Journey. I think it's nearing its conclusion; I deleted my facebook a week ago. It's the summer holidays. Having a facebook this time last year brought me a few last moments with the people I was just leaving behind from my school days, but then as the year went on and I accumulated more 'friends', it quickly became clear who my real friends were, and who weren't, the former being the ones who kept in touch with me outside facebook as well as on it. That's not to say that the only ones who contacted me outside of the site were my real friends; there were some people I was close to there but we never got around to sharing contact information. I can always find them if I want to, though.
Having a facebook one year on... it seems different. I haven't made a bestest best friend at university yet [ok, I have, but we live so close to each other and also prefer to text] that I miss so much I have to keep in such regular contact with them. To me they're all still just acquaintances, and I probably still won't know who my good friends are until fourth year. I can afford to not care about what they're doing every second of the day. And as for the others I've left behind, well, we never got any mutual benefit out of knowing what the other was doing; they're not going to miss me and I'm not going to miss them.
In some ways facebook made me feel a bit lonely. In real life I have a small group of very close friends; I'm not one of those who hangs out with a 10-strong group of people every other day, I probably have 5 close friends, tops. [I'm still not sure whether that's a good or bad thing, but that's irrelevant.] So having over 160 'friends' on the site made me feel like I was missing something- 'I have all these people here, why am I not talking to every single one of them?' It then dawned on me that adding people on facebook was just the done thing to do, whether or not you were actually friends in real life. I got many friend requests from people I never spoke to or even downright hated at my old school. I never added them, of course, what would be the point? Just another number in a useless statistic to boost my ego?
I decided one day that I would go and talk to all the people I'd cut myself off from during the holiday. All of my 162 'friends'. I sent messages to the regulars, my good friends. Then it came to the others. And I hesitated. I'd never made much of a habit of speaking to these people in real life; in fact, holding a conversation with them in real life would have been a little awkward. So why would they want to hear from me on the internet? Answer? They probably wouldn't. I'd send them a message, and they'd reply out of courtesy, much like a face-to-face conversation, except you can take longer to reply. It wouldn't change the fact, however, that neither of us on either end would just not care about the conversation we were having.
Hmm. I realise this is making me sound a little like a hermit. Truth is, I'm just a shy, quiet person. I have my close friends and I don't need hundreds of others. It's just the way it's rather frowned upon now in society if you don't have many friends, that's made me feel down about myself, and facebook somewhat exacerbated the problem. Over the past year I've become a little more withdrawn than I was in secondary school, perhaps through all the changes- and things that haven't changed- in my life. If anything, getting a facebook account has taught me that I really don't need one to stay in touch with people. It's me that needs to stay in touch with people. If I'm unhappy with not having many friends, then it's me that needs to change that, not a website.

I realise that this is not a usual reason why people dislike facebook. I may even be unique in feeling this way [but considering the vastness of the internet, it's more likely I'm not]. But these comments have been my view and my perception of the phenomenon that is facebook, and now that I have experienced its ups and downs for a year, I hope you can all see clearer where I come from when I back this stamp. And now a year on I still back this stamp, albeit for different reasons than when I first started.}

30/01/12: Thought it was about time for another journey update. [Is there a word limit on these things? xD]

Unfortunately I'm back on Facebook indefinitely, because if I'm not, then I obviously have some kind of problem, and something is drastically wrong. Yes, I have depression, but deactivating an account I am bored of or no longer have a use for is not indicative of a major depressive spell, and I am not trying to purposefully shut myself out. I've only done that once, and I've now learned that when I'm down, it is better to talk to someone. But what was mentioned previously, still applies. I barely talk to my old 'friends' on that site. In fact, the people I do consider my friends, I make a point of not contacting them indirectly on a public forum [if it can be helped], but talking straight to them in person, because I'm trying to get better at that. I still praise Facebook for its photo sharing system [though I have stopped uploading artwork there, because I'm unsure of what copyright they hold, etc], because it cuts out the slow internet connections that others may have, and they can see the photos at their own leisure once they're up. But the only other thing that Facebook provides for me is procrastination; I don't enjoy being on the site, but the links that my friends share are sometimes interesting. But procrastinating this much in my third year of uni, isn't great. So I deactivate my account to stop wasting time: "Smilie, where have you gone? What happened to your account?" Never mind that I'm still here and you're still talking to me, no; what's evidently more important is the disappearance of a few megs of internet data. Charming.

Carrying on from the previous point of people adding you just because, no matter if you're friends or not: another person and I had what can be seen in public as an "official breakup". We argued over Facebook, and I finally blocked her. I had known for about 3, 3.5 years previously [even before I got a Facebook!] that we were no longer friends, or at the very least, as close as we used to be, when we stopped talking to each other at school. [Admittedly through my own doing; it was the start of my depression and the point where I started to alienate people.] Naively when we "friended" each other when I first joined FB, I took this as a sign of wanting to keep in contact, but we never spoke, apart from when she wanted to buy something off me. Quietly, I "unfriended" her: what's the point in keeping someone in your friends list that you don't even speak to, right? But, within a few months, she had added me back. Again, naively, I accepted ['aww, she misses our friendship!' I cringe at my younger self sometimes]. Still, no communication, although by this stage she had changed so much, we had nothing in common, and I didn't really feel like I wanted to talk to her at all. But when, once, I called her out on the fact that she'd been continually being rude to one of my best friends, boom! That was it, we weren't friends anymore. [If you're reading this: 'sup, Gabriel?]

Though I get the feeling that if I hadn't blocked her, we'd still be on each others' friend lists, because she's clearly one of those people that keeps tabs on people through Facebook. I really don't understand why people do this, can anyone enlighten me? If you went to school, college or university with someone you really couldn't care less about, but follow them on Facebook, has it changed anything? What do you gain from it? Do you actually talk to them?

Personally [though I think you guys have gathered from this super-long description, sorry!] I hate acting fake, and hate when people act fake to me [normally because I'm so naive I can't notice it]. If I couldn't be bothered to get into someone's good books, I didn't. Doesn't mean I'm not polite, though. Is that what all this friending business is about? Politeness? Augh, this is getting too psychoanalytical. I'm off. xD

No, this isn't a "SAVE TEH WOLFS!" stamp, it's a "Stop making conservationists and environmentalists look stupid and do an ounce of research before claiming that all wolves are endangered and are going to die because of the evil conservative hunters are going to kill them all" stamp. For goodness' sake.

I started seeing the stamp- "Don't 'OMG, LYK, SAVE TEH WOLFS'/Conserve through education/If the facts support wolves, why not use them?" -in wolf-saving collections, so I decided to make the stamp more neutral and more like the original design. If you don't like it, it's probably directed toward you.

Edit 2: Is it better now? I think this new version explains my views better than, though not as completely as, the original text. While I do, in fact, love wolves, I think the hunting issues aren't as big of a deal as some other conservation problems that are going on *coughpandastigersamurleopardsrhinoscough* XD

Edit: Since people were getting the wrong idea about this stamp, I'll explain it all. It should really say, "Don't 'Save the Wolfs;'/Educate the People" (should I change it?). What I mean is that instead of crying out "OHEMGEEE! SAVE TEH WOLFSS!!11!!one!" we should actually, you know, do something. And so, here are my little awareness stamp/banner guidelines...

Soyrwoo's Guide to Saving Wolves:

1. Why?
SAVE THE WOLVES! SAVE THE WHALES! Okay, great, but exactly why are we saving them? Without saying why something needs to be helped or saved, your average person won't know what's going on and probably won't care. You could very well be suggesting the equivalent of saving Norway Rats, Mosquitoes, or heck, even Sasquatch.

2. How?
Now that we know why they need saving, we need to know how on earth we're going to do it. Do we donate? Do we write letters? Do we volunteer? If yes, to/for whom? Do we volunteer for the SPCA (I actually met someone who tried to help endangered animal species by raising money for the SPCA, once)? Do we write letters to Tom Hanks? Do we send money to Dunkin Donuts? Website links are always good.
It's always a good idea to find a .org that supports your cause and slap the URL in your description.
Note: I reccomend using the International Wolf Center, as it provides some great articles, both with and without a pro-wolf point of view.

3. Debating isn't for sissies:
Let's say we want to save the Rocky Mountain populations. One of the most suggested ideas is to send letters to the governor of Idaho. Here's the thing: he wants the wolves dead. He doesn't care if they're "innocent," "cute," "beautiful," or "harmless" (they're not harmless, just very unlikely to attack humans).
In other words, posting banners of wolf pups and saying, "Does this look like a killer/monster/evil-meanie-potatopie to you?" will get you a variety of answers. For those who are anti-wolf, it's like having the same text on a photo of Stalin when he was 2.
Basically, opinions don't make good arguments.

4. Create alternative solutions:
Even with good reasoning and arguments, the ranchers will still grumble about the wolves eating their cows. In fact, this is one of the greatest wolf issues. This is also where part of the "educate the people" comes in; wolves kill cows, but not anywhere near as many as cars do.
Give statistics, give facts, give ideas. Instead of killing all the wolves, we can put up more fences, lower speed limits, or create grassy livestock bridges over busy roads.
The possibilities are endless.

5. Are you to blame?
No, I'm not automatically putting the blame on you or any wolf lover, but you have to step back for a moment and wonder, am I really doing the right thing? And am I doing it the right way?
Protesting makes people angry and insulting people can make you look, to put it plainly, "stupid." By calling the anti-wolf leaders offensive names, you may be degrading your own side of the issue. Be resonable and patient. It pays off.

This is another part in which "educate the people" comes in, as well as "wolf attacks." Non-captive-raised wolves typically don't approach humans. However, if they somehow associate humans with food, they'll come right up to you. Many "attacks" are actually caused by humans feeding wolves. Feeding can be anything from actively putting out food for cute little wuffwuffs to them finding your trashcan full of leftovers.

"Attacks" are also often the result of the wolfdog fad. It's not unusual for a wolf lover to want a wolfdog, but he/she doesn't always know how much trouble one can be. Some wolfdogs are really great pets, don't get me wrong, but successful wolfdog owners almost always discourage people from getting one. They're still wild animals, like a wolf, just a little more accepting of humans. Since most pet shelters will not take in wolfdogs, it's not rare for them to be left in a forest or park, where they can live with and/or breed with wolves.
This can be dangerous because by being part dog and raised by humans, they do not have the wolf's natural fear of us. If they feel the need, a feral wolfdog could attack a human and all blame will go to wolves.

6. What does the other side say?
Again, the issue isn't whether wolves are beautiful, marvelous, perfect creatures or not. Learn what the other side thinks and the other side of the story. You can only be a good debater if you know what you're against.
For example, anti-wolf-folks say, "Wolves are killing our livestock." A bad reply would be "NO THEY ARNT!!11!one1!!D:!!" while a much better response would be, "Yes, but they are not the greatest danger to cows..." and you go on to give the numbers for car accidents and wolf attacks and such.

Overall, in making this stamp, I was hoping to get people to learn a bit about wolves before making their opinions and to put some strength to those opinions. If we were all to act educated about the whole situation, there really wouldn't be much of a situation

It's a great site for shocking wolf obsessors into reality, but terrible for information; quite frankly, it's no more than a collection of obvious facts and misinterpretated data. Plus, it has a mind-numbingly terrible layout XD

Note: this stamp was created before #Anti-Wolf; any use of the phrase "anti-wolf" in the stamp description is a reference to those who oppose wolves.
The DA group, #Anti-Wolf is actually quite informative at times and is against the spread of false statements regarding wolves, not the actual animal.
