Influence Map of AWESOMENESS

When I saw this meme, I immediately wanted to do it. I wanted to show my watchers what inspires my works.

Also, I wanted to take the "really make it my own" approach and do all these fun colors, patters, and decorations on it.

Anywho, here's what's listed on my influence map:

1. Of course this is going to be one of my most prominent inspirations...let's give a hand for WALLE!!! In a way, this picture could represent Pixar in general, because I get inspiration from the other movies as well, not just WALLE. But this movie stand out to me above the rest, with Ratatouille calling in a close second place.

2. Star Wars. Oh yeah. Usually, I'm not the type to go for most sci-fi involving aliens and traveling through space, but SW totally has me. I guess because whenever I watch it, especially the Clone Wars series, it's like viewing the diversity of our own world on a galaxy-wide scale, with all the different types of people and worlds, not to mention that sometimes I compare Coruscant to NYC and then think of the Senate as being a large-scale version of the UN. Plus, the SW characters ROCK, both heroes and villains.

3. Yup. That's right. I love Humongous Entertainment's games, especially Pajama Sam. It's a pretty unique story, and I love how they take the idea of a kid conquering his fears and molding it into a fantasy adventure where he gets transported to fun places and help friends he meets, in the end winning over his fear and actually befriending it (like with Darkness in the first game, and Thunder and Lightning in the second). I guess this picture also represents the 90's in general for me, because I've been looking to that decade to inspire my cartooning style. Plus, who doesn't love these cute weather sisters?!

4. Again with WALLE, but I'm a fan of Eric Tan's poster work. I saw an article of the site /Film about his posters for WALLE, The Incredibles, and Ratatouille, and I fell in love with the retro look of his work. I have used some of his work on the WALLE poster to create a unique look for the Star Vacation characters.

5. The animation style of Kim Possible is practically the essential basis for how I draw all my characters.

6. Illustration art. I love the originality of this type of art, and especially the colorful cuteness of illustrations done in the style of children's storybooks. The example here is from a work by ~iMais, but to get an idea of what I'm talking about, visit the galleries of ~LadySybile, *Hanasu, ~Blush-Art, and ~rage-oblivion.

7. Ok, I admit it: I've also got a soft spot for anime art. I prefer the ones done with lots of soft colors and glowing all bright like this. The example here is by *Ayame-chanxX, but you should also look at the galleries of *myhilary and ~mintchoco (whose work is pretty unique).

8. *BechnoKid. I admire her unique cartoon style. I believe her greatest strength is taking popular Japanese anime (like Vocaloid), and translating the characters into her whimsical look. Plus, she's got quite a thing for humanizing, which I love.

9. I'm a fan of all those crazy fashions worn by kids and teens in Tokyo, such as Decora, Lolita, Cosplay, etc. The trend featured here is Lolita. Found this photo on Wikipedia.

10. Asian woodblock-print art. I admire the simplicity of it. I'd probably want to do a work like this someday. The art featured here is by ~The-Mad-Hattress, and it depicts Master Shifu from Kung Fu Panda. Also look at the work of *qianyu.

11. And speaking of which, I adore the work done by ~bikobure, which blends that Asian type of art with storybook-style illustration! It's like a match made in heaven.

12. Colorful hair and lots of accessories!!! This photo is by ~Muffin-Kiki.

13.*Elixirmy. I love her fanart of popular cartoons, but also her OC's, which I would love to see made into a show someday for children. Her art always amazes me, and even make me chuckle at times.

14. I music. Sometimes, I imagine music videos with my characters, and I also use songs to test out my characters vocal ranges before I create a voice for them.

15. *KenDraw. Also a cartoony artist, and with a bit of a science fiction feel to some of her works.

16. I love foreign costumes, pretty much from every country, but I especially admire those Far East ones, with all the flowers and pretty details. This picture was taken by =Jentapoze.

17. Random notebook-style doodles. They're just fun and creative. The example here is an iPod wallpaper by ~shaketheskyy.
