Anyways, this is for the story I will be writing in November. I plan to post it on my dA, every chapter. It'll probably be about 20 ch, but I make no promises.

Basically to sum up the plot, it's about a very strict Homophobic society. It Micheal/Fall Angel (it depends on where you are in the story as to what his name is...) as he begins to question his sexuality, and gets persecuted by the society. He meets many interesting characters along the way including Don Juan (He's the boy who got Micheal to question himself), Cheshire Cat (An asexual girl, who basically takes him under her wings. She is a major fighter against the society.) and Mother Goose (A transsexual boy, who true to his name is quite motherly, and makes sure that everyone has everything they need. He also likes Don Juan.)


So yea, that's basically my novel this year. Please stick around and read it!

Additionally, elements like the circular moon and encircling wings made these images a good fit for a placement on a disc. ]]>

I've removed the inside cut corners as this is more inline with the books and folders in the series, redrawn the BSG logo and the volume numerals using the available glyphs from my Caprica font (still just vector format, sorry folks), and set the episode lists for each volume in a type that corresponds to the cover art.

Volume 4:

I have swapped the concepts for V4 and V5 as it occured to me that the story surrounding Kara's father's piano tune isn't introduced until the last few episodes (the ones that fall in V5). So, where the "starfield" design was previously used to symbolise the harmonious colonisation of "Earth 2.0" by both Humans and Cylons, I've now adapted it to represent Kara's role as the fleet's guide, using her angel-wing tattoo to encircle the planet. The Human/Cylon cooperation is still referenced, by way of a second angel-wing - the one belonging to Anders. The overlaying text that once read "Islanded in a Stream of Stars" now reads "The Road Less Travelled" (yes, folks, the British spelling); Earth takes the place of the first "E" in "travelled".

About the composition:

My primary goal for this layout was to have all nine characters on the front panel. Additional goals were avoiding any static poses (I wanted the characters to at least be in motion), and attempting as many dynamic interactions as possible between the opposing sides (and if possible, demonstrating active combat between Yuna/Kasumi, Rikku/Ayane, and Tifa/Hitomi). To achieve this, the majority of characters are posed in mid-air positions, so that a generally unobstructed view of all nine is possible simultaneously, in a physically possible—if unlikely—configuration.


Some comments on each character, in order from foreground to background...

Rikku: While I attempted to have each character's face as clearly visible as possible, Rikku's is only presented in profile, but since she is in the extreme foreground, this seemed acceptable. She's shown positioned in running attack on Ayane, who is positioned marginally behind Rikku in the panel's perspctive.

Ayane: Positioning her in the progress of summersault kick towards Rikku helps to vary the largely vertical poses in the layout, while providing a decent angle with which to see her face., the

Kasumi: Teleporting in a burst of iconic sakura petals, we get an unobstructed view the most venerable member of this cast of characters, as she attacks Rikku's flank, while...

Yuna: In an inverted arial position reminiscent of the first time we saw her outfitted with the Gunner Dress Sphere, preparing a charged shot with vantage on both Kasumi and Ayane, we still get a decent (if upside-down) view of her face, as it is half angled towards us.

Tifa: Literally blurring through the air as she charges at Hitomi, we see less of Tifa's face then of any other, but since she's one of the oldest (second only to Kasumi), and possibly the most recognizable of the cast, I doubt her identity will be mistaken.

Hitomi: An equal distance from the viewer as Tifa, we get a unobscured profile of her face, and full view of the iconic phoenix on her shirt.

Kairi: I didn't want to put her in direct opposition to anyone, since I suspect that her final opponent has yet to be revealed, so she's shown in a frontal, but inverted pose, wielding the Oath Keeper and Oblivion Keyblades while in Valor Form.

Rinoa: Immediately behind Keiri, her limit break's Angel Wings spanning our view of the moon, she overlooks the scene of the six fighters below her as she descends in an unaggressive posture.

Rachel: Swinging in from the background with her axe in an unmistakably aggressive pose, she isn't portrayed with a specific target (although Rinoa is the first that she would reach). I'm really not familiar enough with her background and appearances to know how recognizable her character is, positioned this way. A last bit about the medium and the method... Since montyoum said not to invest too much time into the artwork, I simply clipped images from DF1&2 so I could experiment quickly with different layouts. Once I'd decided what I wanted, I did some extremely quick (and dirty) image extraction, and then the most of the work was in fine-tuning the positioning of each character in relation to the others. To finish up, I added some effects to demonstrate the dynamics of the layout, and that's it. Oh, and my use of a crystalize filter was to eliminate the jarring effect created when using images of all different resolutions (a large image that was scaled down placed next to a small image scaled up made it very difficult to judge the relationship between the characters they represented, but using a filter reduced that effect, at the cost of giving the entire image an impressionistic effect). ]]>

About the composition:

My primary goal for this layout was to have all nine characters on the front panel. Additional goals were avoiding any static poses (I wanted the characters to at least be in motion), and attempting as many dynamic interactions as possible between the opposing sides (and if possible, demonstrating active combat between Yuna/Kasumi, Rikku/Ayane, and Tifa/Hitomi). To achieve this, the majority of characters are posed in mid-air positions, so that a generally unobstructed view of all nine is possible simultaneously, in a physically possible—if unlikely—configuration.


Some comments on each character, in order from foreground to background...

Rikku: While I attempted to have each character's face as clearly visible as possible, Rikku's is only presented in profile, but since she is in the extreme foreground, this seemed acceptable. She's shown positioned in running attack on Ayane, who is positioned marginally behind Rikku in the panel's perspctive.

Ayane: Positioning her in the progress of summersault kick towards Rikku helps to vary the largely vertical poses in the layout, while providing a decent angle with which to see her face., the

Kasumi: Teleporting in a burst of iconic sakura petals, we get an unobstructed view the most venerable member of this cast of characters, as she attacks Rikku's flank, while...

Yuna: In an inverted arial position reminiscent of the first time we saw her outfitted with the Gunner Dress Sphere, preparing a charged shot with vantage on both Kasumi and Ayane, we still get a decent (if upside-down) view of her face, as it is half angled towards us.

Tifa: Literally blurring through the air as she charges at Hitomi, we see less of Tifa's face then of any other, but since she's one of the oldest (second only to Kasumi), and possibly the most recognizable of the cast, I doubt her identity will be mistaken.

Hitomi: An equal distance from the viewer as Tifa, we get a unobscured profile of her face, and full view of the iconic phoenix on her shirt.

Kairi: I didn't want to put her in direct opposition to anyone, since I suspect that her final opponent has yet to be revealed, so she's shown in a frontal, but inverted pose, wielding the Oath Keeper and Oblivion Keyblades while in Valor Form.

Rinoa: Immediately behind Keiri, her limit break's Angel Wings spanning our view of the moon, she overlooks the scene of the six fighters below her as she descends in an unaggressive posture.

And now, as part of the rules, I’m going to list a rough description of each of the stories involved in this design.

PRISMIC DARKNESS

In the small city of Hazoden, a wolf boy named Seth Colbor was living out his glass half-empty life, searching for the murderer which killed his mother and father. After having no luck, a fox girl named Rashida appeared in town and pleaded with him, desperate for help. Someone had forcefully taken over her home and was keeping the residents hostage.
Seth and Rashida decide to embark on their mission, meeting friends and enemies along the way. Little did they know, destiny had written their fates to fight against a dark and evil force from years past. That force was the called Prismic Darkness.

“True power, comes from protecting those dear to you.”

PRISMIC ADVENTURE

Some years had passed since the Prismic Darkness was sealed away. It was then that Seth and Rashida gave birth to a son, Shin Colbor, an eccentric and excited wolf boy. There was also a mysterious fairy known as Eclipse, who had been with the Colbor family since Shin was just a pup. Some years later, a mystery man started wreaking chaos in places over the world. All they knew was his name. Fierre.
Along his childhood friend, Prince, Shin and Eclipse set on a journey to put a stop to Fierre’s tyranny and bring peace to the world once again.

“The thing I fight for is a world as free as the wind!”

POINT ZERO

Beyond time and space exists a world ruled by a powerful being thousands of years old. His name is Abylon. He was chained to this world by his own kind because of his overwhelming power.
It was some years later, that he decided to host a fighting tournament, with the winner being granted their deepest desire. The tournament was called Point Zero. Abylon brought in fighters everywhere within time and space. Riley was one of the first few brought into this world.
Before this, Riley was constantly on the run because he was an animal hybrid, which was a hideous beast in the eyes of humans. Then he was saved by one of them, a supposed human named Vera. Since then, they worked together to try and make hybrids as equals in their world.
But a few years later, Vera fell ill to an unknown disease that constrained her to a hospital bed. Riley was out in the cold once again, desperately searching for a cure. Just as he about to lose all hope, a small cat girl named Sayuri brought Riley into Point Zero.
Now, Riley’s only choice is to fight to survive and be granted his wish.

“Past, present, future, I don’t care. The only thing I’m after is truth.”

ROGUE CHILDREN OF EUVAN

Ely Ellis Euvan. This is the name is the supposed mad scientist who gave life to a whole new generation of half human, half animal people called Children of Euvan. Then he would gave away these creations to different families in the region.
Haze Retori, a dingo CoE, had suffered a great deal after he was given a family. His mother was murdered right in front of him, and he ran away. He lived a large majority of his life with a criminal gang called the Black Wings. They had another CoE with them. Rio, a raven CoE, a black hearted assassin.
When Haze was 17 though, a job he was on got blown and he was caught by the police. While Haze was custody, a officer called Terra, who was a parrot CoE, talked to him, telling him that he needs remember where his real home is...with the other CoEs. It took a while, but Haze finally agreed. Terra gave him a clean slate and a house in the neighbourhood where the CoEs resided.
Haze knew it wouldn’t be so simple to settle down. Enemies from his past are sure to find him and put his friends in danger. So now, Haze brings it upon himself to fight off his enemies and keep his friends safe until the end.

“No matter who you are or what’s happened, you can only be one person. And that is you.”

HEAVEN AND HELL INTERVENTION

In an industrial age, the threat of demons and fiends had made itself known to the world. In the country of England, a fiend hunter by the name of Edward Locke was constantly fighting the monsters, devoting his entire being to his cause. One day though, a sorcerer from his own guild named Niles started causing death and destruction everywhere he walked. Edward confronted him of course, but failed to defeat him. Niles was powerful. He was able to create and manipulate life he saw fit.
Several days later, Edward finally woke up and learned that Niles was recruiting followers to his cause and had occupied key locations around the world. So Edward set off on a world trip to muster an army of peacekeepers and hunters to bring an end to Niles’ rule.

“Neither the divine nor the wicked rule us. Our destiny is our own.”

INNER BLOOD CURSE

There exists a single woman who regrets everything, but cannot end it. Her name is Akira, and she made a deal with the devil. Now, cursed with immortality and charged with the fate of ending people’s lives, she bears the hatred and sadness of those she’s killed.
However, some months later, she gathered her courage and decided to fight back against the devil that contracted her.

“Even when you’re left with nothing, there is always something or someone you can protect.”

BRAVE FIGHTERS

The year is 2074 in the town of Tamoko Tokyo. There is a teenage boy by the name of Takuya who has everything he could ever want and lives his life to the fullest, even if that means pissing off a couple people.
But one night, as he was talking his usual stroll, he found a strange crystal on the ground and picked it up. Then a thug attacked him and had Takuya cornered. Just then, the crystal lit up and covered Takuya, changing him into a costumed hero, Twilight.
After fending off the thug, Takuya was extremely confused. Then he realised, he needed to be careful with this power, and use it for the right reasons.

“We know what justice really is. That makes us the world’s REAL defenders!”

ANTI-MORTAL: LIMITLESS BOUNDARY

In a half broken world, there are 8 hierarchical cities governing the world, maintaining peace in the world. Despite this, people are still arrogant, greedy and power hungry, willing to put down anyone to get what they want.
Familiar with heartless actions like this, a lone wolf traveller is out to destroy power in its entirety. That way, it wouldn’t be possible for anyone to become higher or lower than another. This lone wolf is known as Leon, an Anti-Mortal, someone who cannot die by human hands.
After some incidents, Leon caught the trail of the two people who ruined his life. Scion, the childhood friend who betrayed him and left him for dead. And Shi-Krita, the insane woman who forced the Anti Mortal power onto Leon.
Now, a new part of Leon’s goal is seal away the power of the Anti Mortal forever.

“I follow my own path, so you can follow yours. I don’t need anything dragging me down.”

DEATHVILLE

All seems normal in the prosperous city of Remira. A couple, Stephen and Eve, are two of the people enjoying the life in the great city.
But one day, a missile comes completely unexpectedly and crashes into the city, laying everything to waste. But that wasn’t the only thing. The missile released a toxic gas on impact, infecting those who survived the blast. It caused them to act erratically and violent, killing anything that moves.
Stephen and Eve were under shelter when the missile hit and are supposedly the only ones immune to the gas’s effect. Now they must make their way to the emergency extraction zone, slaughtering anything that tries to stop them and escape from this place people are now calling, Deathville.

“When everything’s on the line, no one can predict what you’ll do. A lot like those infected do.”

URBAN KNIGHTS

There is an unsteady, teenage girl who keeps getting mixed up in other people’s business and fights. Her name is Alexis, who’s been orphaned since she was a little girl. Then one day, she started having strange dreams. She would be looking at a knight from years ago, Lancelot. And he would openly name her as an inheritor of his name.
A couple days later, people started coming after her. She sent them packing as usual, but something was different. She had a lot more strength and stamina than usual. That was she thought it had something to do with the dreams she’s been having.
That’s when she decided to tack a trip to find out more about her supposed lineage. And she found she wasn’t the only one with those powers. There were more people with the same thing, including her brother, Flint.
However, she discovered that Flint was using that power to disrupt and terrorize government agencies, supposedly because Flint despised them and didn’t like the decisions and laws they made. Now Alexis must stop him before things fall apart.

We had to create an imaginary band, Wings Of Fate, debut album called Dark Illusion, and then we had to design a DVD cover, a one minute promotional video, and some documentation.
