Sea Creatures Tattoo

So I took a break from my latest artwork to complete this tattoo commission. It's intended to fully wrap around the forearm. Hence, it's shape. The theme was mostly focused on sea creatures. I designed the tattoo so, that when it wrapped around, the two fish would appear like they were circling the other.

I'm heavily inspired by tattoos, btw. My passion for layers, details, and patterns are direct results of studying the way tattoo artists manipulate space and overlap things. I really wanted to have a raw sense of chaotic depth. A lot of work went into preplanning the design, whereas the execution of it took just a couple of hours.

The best designs come when I'm not even trying to design anything...

that texture inside the design is an EVE Online screenshot - with adjustments made to its colour.

called it "ocean" because it reminds me of something between a crab and a squid's tentacle antennae things - plus the bluey colour of the manipulated screenshot enforced it.

Yet another commission for a tattoo that I was asked to design. @_@; I seem to be getting very popular...

This one was designed to go on the inner calf, from the ankle to the knee. And it's origin is from polynesia, with the motifs of waves for the ocean and the triangles representing shark's teeth.

There's a Tiki God's face in there too. Can you spot it? It was a b%£# to get symmetrical! *Collapses*

There is more then just optical sight when going in for the kill, whatever it may be. Skills, chance, cunning all play a role.

My goodness, you make one thing for someone and suddenly everyone wants one XD

This is yet another Tattoo desgin made for a girl at my school. She was looking for something to go on the side of her waist and wanted flowers that weren't so...traditional? I chose hibiscus since they're pretty and made for a nice ocean-like feel.

Needless to say, she loved it so I got her a stencil and such made and she'll be getting it before graduation on the 19th. Now I have....4 more to make...Nice XD

ok, ignore the pencil marks and the creases...

This is a custom tattoo design that i did for my sister now that shes 18, this is the original picure of it, i've had to downsize it for the actual tattoo, hence the pencil lines.
In the one i've downsized i've adjusted the hands and a couple of the flames/parts of the wave as i didn't think they looked right.
This pictures about 18 x 20cm, so i've halfed the size for the actual tattoo down to 9 x 10cm.

My client recently took a trip to Hawaii, and she wanted a green sea turtle tattoo as memento. First, I created a few sketches of the turtle in different positions and from different perspectives. The client picked the one that she liked most, and then I proceeded to create a few different colored versions, as you can see here. I wasn't sure how detailed the client wanted this design or how detailed the tattoo artist could work. I kept that in mind and created the two simpler designs on the bottom.

Green sea turtles are not really green. All of the references I saw were brown. But I thought the client might want something more colorful. Thus, I made a version of the design that was really green.

This is my own series of elemental tribal cat designs. I draw them traditionally with black fineliners.

Element: Blazing Fire
A jumping cat that erupts from flames surrounded by great energy.

Element: Waves
A cat with a watery flowing pelt that is so powerful as waves crushing against rocks.

A cat whose pelt is covered with music tones and notes. It's musicality is mysterious.

Colored Tattoo Design. First and probably last. Not my favorite/best style.

Its supposed to represent a dragon in the ocean, its head is also the sun setting, and the flames are the orange in the sky when the sun sets..Don't know how well I pulled it off. Let me know what you think but please keep in mind this was my first ever attempt at drawing any type of tattoo.
