A little tribute to a local choir and its wonderful back-story.

One of the first black men who came to Denmark was made to stand on a small stage at a amusement park, so people could come and look at this strange dark-skinned man. He didnt know any Danish and only very little French, so he didnt understand what people were saying and had nobody to talk with.

One day he got sick and was rushed to the hospital. It was difficult for the doctors to explain to him what was wrong, but somewhat managed with a French teacher.

The nurses could tell the man was in pain and scared, but didnt know how to comfort him. Then one night when it was really bad, one of the nurses took his hand and started humming a little tune for him. She noticed it made him relax, and told the others.
Soon all the nurses started singing for him to keep his spirit up, and even had a doctor join in.

It made the man so happy and left such a strong impression on him, that a few years later when he had learned how to speak Danish, he returned to the hospital and asked the nurses if they wanted to start a choir.

It was called The White Choir because of the white uniforms, and is today made up of 28 nurses and doctors.

I wanted to do something light, quick, clean, simple, a little more abstract than the usual, you know? It's Boots Riley from the Coup, without eyeballs cuz I wanted to do that whole cool comic book type feel. And I love fros because you can get all weird with them if you want.

"Faucet" redone. More color, less lines. Sadly, some elements were omitted due to the space factor. I didn't want it to look so crowded, so I just went for a balance of things. The fish aren't even really redrawn since I always keep my old .psd files. All I had to do was plump them up a bit.

The front rainbows are kind of retro looking in the fact they're almost mirrored images, which I love. That's about it.

Well, its been a very long while since I last submitted anything to my gallery. Well, to start my slow come back I came up with this image. Its for my dad, he asked me to make him a business card for his band. With the ideas he told me about, I came up with this. Its not exactly what i was going for, but it will do for now. Still not completely satisfied with it, might make some changes here and there, but the over all image I like. Well, its good to be back to DA and hope you enjoy this picture.
