The language isn't amazing, but I was trying to use the simple language from other old fairytales.

I plan on making a story for each of the couples in the Niels universe.

And like last time i kept the language simple, skimmed some parts and left things unexplained to give it more of a classic fairytale feel.

The Umbrella

Oftentimes I fall into a state of constant stress and I get lost in it, like a whole other world where everything is absolute chaos and I cant seem to break free from it; where, every time I try to, there is always something new to worry about. What Ive become aware of, though, is that Im able to stop that cycle. I now often turn to meditation its the safe place away from all of that, like a shield. I can get away for some time, to a more peaceful place where I turn off my thoughts for a while, and I can come back to the stress with a clearer conscience, greater positive energy and the ability to deal with it more effectively. When it feels as though everything is falling to pieces all around over my head, meditation becomes my umbrella.

I... I dont understand where to categorize this. It's so confusing, because it's not a painting/airbrushing i choose 'linework' (since its just a sketch and flat colors!?)

so uh, if this is in the wrong category please fix this.

this picture started out as a doodle in a crazy boring day... which ended up like this lol IDK why.
I wanted to draw a story of a girl and a wild rose. The girl ended up looking like alice because other colors scheme doesnt match her lol.

so yeah i know lots of people will think it's alice (with the elements and all), i dont care at all though, its natural to think its alice. since the beginning it was just meant to be a random doodle before i decided to color it and submit it here

sigh my first submission in 2010 T~T; i will try to do better next time!

that pretty frame doesnt belong to me, if any of you know the source please tell me so i can give a proper credit ><; (its in my hard disk for a long time so i dont remember the source)

Final countdown? 35 hours. That's 5 over what I predicted. Please do download the bigger version to take a look at the details, I've uploaded the 70% version so that you can take a good look at all of the cross hatching I've done.

It was a fun four days on Livestream, streaming this for you all. Thank you everyone for your support throughout it, it was a lot of fun to talk during it and stream music for everyone.

I'm satisfied, for now, but you always know that in a few days I'll see things I could've done better. It always happens!

Now, starting from the middle, going down then clockwise..

Me - the flustered looking dweeb in the center.

Chirrel - Sporting a twin-tail new doo, the original reaper girl from Endrealm who started the trend of supernaturally inclined heroines that terrorize my storylines. For those of you that remember my very first submissions, you'll notice she's grown quite a bit. Most of the cast of Endrealm, even Chirrel herself, have 'migrated' into another storyline, so she may pop up sometime in the not too distant future. :3

Rex - Ree's head demonic servant and leading cause of her hellishly inclined lifestyle. Rex serves as the proverbial mangoat on the shoulder, encouraging Ree to use her malevolent powers as often as she possibly can. Why? Perhaps he's a scruffy, malicious delinquent, or has a much more sinister plan in the works.. but then again, we're talking about a guy who struggles to put together peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Goldilocks - Directly next to Rex there is the demure Goldilocks, accompanied by her three spectral 'companions'. Sweet as sugar, Goldi. But the girl has issues.

Anne a.k.a. The Powerbug - Zipping above Rex's head with a legally distinct portable gaming device in tow, the latest line of resource gathering bugbots from the Omega Corps. This would be your standard dastardly conglomerate in the only futuristic storyline I have. Powerbugs thirst for energy, and are built to harvest. And defend themselves in all sorts of interesting, bloody ways when threatened by rival gatherers. 8D

Ree - Gamer extraordinaire, subject of infestation by the legion of hell, and makes some damn fine cheese omelettes with bacon in. Loves most things retro, her parents, and probably sports a crush on the Angry Video Game Nerd.

Attention Whore - That obnoxious glob of black in the back on the far left is the subject of 'Attention Whore', the first picture in my gallery to ever get any kind of relatively widespread attention here on DA. He enjoys mittens.

Rain - Twining in with aforementioned glob is Rain, the parasitically haunted princess of my medieval storyline that will probably never see the light of day. Unless I decide to go with the original idea that the entire cast be made up of animals. 8|

Oliver - Stand-in lead of the Alptraum Family Circus. And I don't mean "Family" in the sense that you should bring your whole family, unless seeing people brought to the bloody brink of their sanity gets your collective rocks off. When Oliver first debut'd here on DA, he was said to be altogether a ripoff of someone from Johnny the Homicidal Maniac. Then the lead in Corpse Bride. Nowadays, that Superjail has come out, he is said to be a ripoff of the Warden! It's amazing how over the years he manages to undermine so many established franchises. But that's why we love him.

Red - Red is seen her sporting a fashionable Big Bad hat and Dr. Crooked glasses. She seems to enjoy collecting trophies of people she either has killed or seeks to kill sometime in the future. You know, when her schedule opens up. Currently she's out to kill me for a lack of updates in the webcomic she stars in.

Bertram & Mara - Oliver's siblings. One's a gigantic clown, the other is a brainmangled hypnotist. I'll let you guess which is which.

Wrath - Probably the spunkiest of the Living in Sin girls, one of my favorites to draw and write for.

Lilith - Ree's rival. (Whether or not Ree is aware of it.) You either love or hate Lilith, it seems like. The amount of varying feedback I've got on her character is staggering, if not for just its utter disparity.

Dan - By far the most unpopular choice on my recent poll of Ree characters, I figured the poor good-natured schmuck deserved a cameo here. Sariel, the winner of the poll, will never let him live it down anyway. The popularity went to his-- er.. her-- its head.

Sloth - Sleepy Sloth is sleepy. I need to draw her more.

Clockwork Bunny - Don't ask about Clockwork Bunny. You should know this by now.

Envy, Seth, Jacob, Pride, Avarice - Swinging up and to the left of C.B. are more stars of Living in Sin. Thankfully Seth's narration bubble left him alone long enough for this picture.

Rosie, Posie, Iggy - Floating around indiscriminately are the sisters Plague. These poor things have been the longest subjects of experimentation in the Everafter asylum and certainly look the part. I mean, at least Iggy got away with only having that one creepy ass popped eye.

hey Realistic Zekrom!

one of my favourite digital pieces as far..
it's what I wanted to do, darker and more mature art.
as how much I suck at digital art, this one is my very first which I archeived as I wanted.

So, it was a schoolwork which I was working for digital painting practices- game/concept art direction.
I had to do a dark dragon, out of boredom and to be more motivated- I simply imagined doing realistic Zekrom. I always loved doing my own interpretations of realistic pokes since I was little.

Maybe I'll plan to do realistic Reshiram, Kyurem and Genosect.

Here's a first glimpse of my new intermediate length Project: Knite (pronounced like knight). In case you missed the journal announcement, I am putting the super long Project: WE on hold because I believe I need more practice.

Project: Knite will be drawn in a very different style than my normal semi-realistic one. I want to incorporate a more anime and watercolor feel to it. I believe different styles are more suited to different stories depending on the themes.

I aim to finish all chapters of Project: Knite by the spring of 2010 but if I don't, I will at least release a chapter or two by then (of course, the chapters will be in Flash comic format and free for public viewing like 1000 Words [link]) look forward to it!

Since the Moon is the strongest symbol for romantic longing and as a character a lifelong fascination of mine, I thought I come up with something like this. I took a lot of planning on it, especially how moon's face is carved out of the rocks.
It's the old tragedy, beeing nothing without your counterpart but never beeing able to really reach him or her. I hope it looks a little bit lonely ...

reverting back to my oldschool line&color technique. it still needs work so give me any critiques/comments you feel could push it.

Basically I want it to have a very european comic sort of feel to it, but I borrowed the compositional elements from japanese prints.

Yes, I will paint a sandworm someday!

Dominace War Final Pose

Like I said, this year I decided to do the final pose in a different style, this been a style that I've been doing a lot for work and never really been used for and public work. I know most of you probably perfer the painted look, I just got a little tired of the painted look all the time and want to a somewhat cellcut style.

Anyways, this is 80% done for the final pose, I'll be adding moore detail design to the arm maybe and bg,etc. Just don't want to make it too busy.

Also added the tiny sword at the demon arm that's left from the dead hero which was used to seal the demon so the arm can never be reattached to the great demon,etc.
Just something small that I thought was fun~

Anyways I'll be working on the 3view ortho sheet first before coming back to this piece.

Any comment are always welcome, I do like to hear what people think of this style of coloring, it'll most likely cost me since i don't think any of the top 100 DW last year was cellshaded so ya... but still it was really fun! Thanks again everyone!

YES I am aware there are ten nymphs instead of nine. Unfortunately, seeing as this is a pretty perfectly symmetrical image, I'm sure you all can see the issue with putting only nine nymphs, so there is a set of place-holder legs to balance out the image XD

(All in good fun guys, this assignment wasn't meant to be 100% accurate to the myth, it was meant to be a fun reinvention that's all<3)

The idea behind this project was to depict the mythical goddess artemis in a contemporary setting. artemis was the goddess of the hunt and nature (in greek art she's always depicted in a forest with a deer and occassionally dogs, but i decided to nix those) and she had nine beautiful nymphs that followed her around wherever she went, and she decided at an early age she never wanted to marry a man and wanted to be 'chaste' for the rest of her life. she also ran around shooting beautiful maiden's in the chest with arrows, and there was another myth where she, (another god in disguise) had an intimate affair with one of those nymphs.
so when i was thinking of modern day hunt, and all of these things, i decided artemis should be a pimp XDDD

this is a really new kind of thing for me. i never do designy stuff like those trees, and i rarely do such flat simple coloring, but the line drawing was so detailed i decided shading would be too much.

so enough rambling! XD

everything in this that appears any kind of sexual is purposeful, before anybody asks XD yes the candle is phallic XDDDD

and all those nymph hoes were SUPER fun to draw >D
