My panda chub finally got a name thanks to Patricia, who suggested the name and helped me with the note ("I´m Bao, please be gentle") and the red sign ("Breakable"). I can say "Merry christmas" in 10 languages, but I think I never get used to Chinese *epic language fail...* XD

The fable of the moon and the giraffe:

Does anyone wonder why the moon has a crescent form?
The giraffe can't sleep because the moonlight keeps her awake!
Every month, she starts eating the moon.
She can't make short work of it, otherwise she might choke...
So, she nibbles pieces, drinking from the clouds sometimes.
After 14 days, the sky is entirely black.
So, the giraffe takes a nap.

Does anyone know why the moon comes back?
Neither the giraffe nor I know why

Since so many people have asked, the title is meant to have dual meaning. The one most commonly assumed is that "nature" means the natural world. There's another, deeper meaning to it, and it is the destruction of human nature.

The drive to distraction and noise, anything that will block meditation and contemplation of oneself, is so strong, that humans will destroy anything in their path to keep them alive.

This was rendered with the intention of being viewed at 18x24.
20-40 hrs, aprox. No serious idea on time amount.
Wacom Tablet.
Photoshop CS5.

90% done using standard brushes (round brush, etc)
Rust was a splatter brush made from a free texture
5 or 6 of the spots were made with brushes, the rest painted with the round and fuzzy round brushes (including all of the ones with holes in the middle).
Gears made with shape vectors.

Well, I know you're not used to seeing stuff like this from
me but surprise, surprise guys!

I have always loved the Megalodon, fascinating creature... What I wouldn't give just to take a glance at a real one but that's impossible so I came up with this.

Another reason for drawing this was the low quality of the Meg paintings I've seen so far. I've watched the Sea Monsters series and they say that this is the way the Meg attacks (from below just like the great white) and since that made a lot of sense I went with it. I also made the eye relatively small so that it wouldn't look like another scaled-up great white picture.

Well, hope you enjoy this.

See, this is why I don't trust cats. One minute, they're all cute and chasing string; the next minute, they're hunched over a map of the world, ready to unleash feline hellfire.

Inspired by three distinct sources:

1) The fantastic art of *wingedsiamese
2) Baroque painting, which is awesome in a way that I will never be
3) The book "Bad Cat" by Jim Edgar

I highly recommend "Bad Cat" for anyone who enjoys drawing cats. The photos are hilarious, and I have never seen such wonderful expressions on a kitty before!

I used one of those replica antique maps as a reference for the map the kitties are using. I will never do this again, as painting that map is a horror which will live with me for the rest of my life. UGH.

I entertain the vain hope that you'll full view out of the goodness of your hearts.

October illustration for my calendar (3 more to go.... 2 close to kinda finished... whoot! I see the end of the tunnel!!! )

Obviously all had to dress up so Patches got his own special Halloween costume. Frog was originally a clover leaf but green on green looked odd.

Today pointed out -while working on chub-comics - that cats won't get candies so I changed the title. But alas.. it's a fun-time whatever you eat.

I like it better than my last year's illustration but this one took ages (still dislike painting 1 million details and proper backgrounds ).

And now I iz gonna finish the new huge scratching post for my cats and enjoy the rest of mah sunny Sunday.

I didn't realize it would be such an undertaking to paint seagulls.. and in the end I went with this lonely little bird, the one I originally thought I was only doing for practice, if there's any more irony in that. I think the detailed bird was referenced from this [link] which im not even sure if that's a real bird or from a video game, and there was definitely another reference that I typed in some variation of "seagull flying" to find but now is eluding me. ill track it down. oh no... more seagulls.. xD
Well, 2 hours of seagull painting aside, this is complete!

I should really create some fur-brushes for myself, this one-hair-at-a-time-methot is quite painful on my wrist. Although, even though I draw with my right hand, it's my left that starts hurting and throbbing while the right one feels just fine. Strange... o_ò

practise speedpaint with intense lights and a new subject - a dog, a little one! im not sure where I got this idea in my head, I think it was from a Wii game commercial a while back ( hopefully will get to upload more speedpaint videos on my youtube channel ) used photoshop and wacom tablet.

high five for funny names, so sweet that it may cause a tooth ache :3 concept done for the app/lwp. his names changed like 5 times atleast and was quite long-ish in works for several technical reasons. the main idea was to make him more alive than anyting before... now he tends to move around on his own, check out video c: as always used paint tool sai and photoshop.

Another quick painting from last night but returning a bit to a more familiar subject, just with a fresh approach. The lighting isn't perfect I don't think but I wasn't aiming for perfection, just a more pronounced mood than is usual for my work. All done in ps, start to finish, no sketching for the snowy, just straight painting.

tools: PS cs2, wacom Bamboo
