A portrait that will be on display at my upcoming solo show and tribute to cinema!

I really really stared at a ton of old-timey portrait-paintings (John Singer Sargent, Vermeer, etc) for inspiration to do this piece. I wanted to get a traditional media feel and do the best job possible with this lovely moment from Moonrise Kingdom (when Sam Shakusky first lays eyes on Suzy Bishop!) Digital painting from references [link], many many hours, Adobe Photoshop + Cintiq 21UX tablet.

The opening reception for the show ("MOMENTS" by Alice X. Zhang) is on Friday, June 7th at Bottleneck Gallery. If you are anywhere in the NYC area at that time, I would be delighted to see you! Admission is completely free, more information and RSVP at the event listing.

Welll hi everyone, Lol so much for taking a break from drawing, my body literally cant go to long without it orz

So, Lately I've been wanting to draw something more up close and "personal" cause I've notice that, I'm drawing things mainly from like a distance, and I didnt want to go to long without drawing my OCs~

So changing it up a bit, I did a HUGE portrait of my OC Fara Hills. Just something simple, cuz I like simple~

I have a really deep story for her, it's still developing but for what I have so far, it's ( in my opinion ) "deep" and nostalgic for me. So I kinda feel somewhat connected to her.

Maybe one day I will share her story with you guys, who knows~ But for now I hope you just enjoy her beautiful face! ; v ;

We got an added challenge on this one! An adorable Shikoku Ken with a heart of gold that easily conquered our hearts♥(all but more fitting since his name means heart in Japanese) and we truly appreciated the task!

don't you just love how this looks like a five seconds doodle when it really took some time to draw.....
Anyways here is me and Hawk in a style inspierd by the game "don't starve"
