Week 3 - Post Modernism Banner

Resources: Van Gogh's Starry Night

This week we needed to make a post modernist banner. My understanding of post-modernism is to combine the new and the old. I did this by combining Van Gogh's painting (the old) with the airbrushed image of the girl (the new).

The effect on the Starry Night painting is the filter>oil painting which completely alters it and makes it something new and interesting.
The girl is airbrushed using the Filer>blur>surface blur and then with a layer mask, only the skin is blurred.
The text effect, I wanted to go with subtletly and so using the Colonna MT to write the text and then I applied an inner shadow to give it the effect of sinking into the painting. It was then given an overlay blending mode to increase the background blending.
