^{This is my quick matte painting...I drew it 7.5 hours and I actually drew it for college (we had to draw space). So I decided to quickly paint one landscape. I think I almost don't have any landscape paintings in the gallery So, here is something different from me, and I hope you'll like it. I drew it from beginning with colors and I didn't set the concept at the beginning. I just sketched and I wouldn't imagine that drawing will look like this at the end. It was completely a new thing for me.

But I'm a fantasy artist, so I just had to draw something fantasy I drew even one little deer in the background so try to find it Oh, and I drew it flipped... so drawing was actually flipped in other direction. And shortly I'll also upload whole video progress from this drawing on YouTube, so you'll be able to see my drawing progress for the first time So stay tuned

I'm starting a new series! If you haven't guessed, it's the Seven Deadly Sins. These aren't going to be your typical looks though. It's not going to be "Well... lust is sexy so I'm going to do sexy!" This one I did as "fiery" and "steamy". It's difficult to explain haha! Hopefully you understand it a little!

I also need your help! Have an idea for the next sins? Let me know! I'm stuck on Sloth at the moment. The others I have vague ideas for... but Sloth is a tricky one!

_{Just a random doodle of Ichi, the cyborg cat (if anyone remembers her, if not...well here you go, Ichi!) I listened to a lot of Daft Punk with this so it cheered me up, haha! Hence the 'happy' expression |3
I was inspired by a picture I saw while looking through cat wallpapers [link] (warning it's HUGE) and I thought 'that pose would fit with Ichi!'
So... I doodled this up. It's kind of a lazy image because I'm not much into doing that much personal work these days. Most of what I do is work or commissions so it was nice to have a small break in between to do something like this.
For those wondering her right leg and her tail are covered in electrical tape. She's a weird one but.. she's a robot mostly... So physics? Pffft! Nahhhh.}

About the costume :

As usual, team work with
I made the choice of an "historical-accurate" costume, meaning I took only linen for the fabric part, and only real leather.
The lightest Leather came from second hand coat and a second hand bag, while the darkest one came from a shop. I damaged the darkest one with a metal file.
I altered my linnen with two tea baths after punching the costume with shoe polish, and a complete night under the rain did the rest. Also, it's all real metal rivets everywhere, hammered on the costume.
I took the ingame screenshots as references, not the cinematic trailers (or artworks). This may explain the differences.

Please note I won't answer and may delete any comments like "where did you buy that" "this is not weathered enough" "XXX is better than you" "this is good but XXX is better" and so on.

A portrait that will be on display at my upcoming solo show and tribute to cinema!

I really really stared at a ton of old-timey portrait-paintings (John Singer Sargent, Vermeer, etc) for inspiration to do this piece. I wanted to get a traditional media feel and do the best job possible with this lovely moment from Moonrise Kingdom (when Sam Shakusky first lays eyes on Suzy Bishop!) Digital painting from references [link], many many hours, Adobe Photoshop + Cintiq 21UX tablet.

The opening reception for the show ("MOMENTS" by Alice X. Zhang) is on Friday, June 7th at Bottleneck Gallery. If you are anywhere in the NYC area at that time, I would be delighted to see you! Admission is completely free, more information and RSVP at the event listing.

Here is the first in a series of plushies I am making for Aywas.com [link] ! There will be 6 in total, and they're all some of the cutest designs I've ever had to work with. I've got 3 of them completed already and another one in the works at the moment, I'll be gradually uploading them over the next few days.

Now, what's the super cool thing about this series of plushies? They may be commercially produced! However for this to happen, some funds need to be raised. It takes $2000 to get a plush mass-produced, so if 100 people pre-ordered one for $20 he'd be funded in no time! This is the weirdest pony I've ever seen.

Thanks to ~MrTapani, I decided today to revert back to the simpler time when I used draw dragon and reptile related stuff, it's been almost two years since my last one:

But instead of falling back into the realms of another fandom, just started drawing, with inspiriation from the infamous Argonian race
Also decided to experiment with some anthropology and all that bollocks.

Since most of my watchers here really won't care for anything non-MLP related, I just needed to do something different, I thought I'd have done so long ago, but drawing ponies for almost 2 years straight can be bothersome :/

So, from now on, I'm going to break it up whenever I feel like it, whatever I end up drawing (and actually finishing...) I'll most likely upload here.
So feel free to ignore these, or embrace them, it's up to you really.

Lost headquarters

Motivé par le bon avancement de mon projet d’auto-édition sur Ulule [link] je me démène pour tenter de réaliser un chapitre exceptionnel pour les pages bonus de l'album papier des Voisins du Chaos réservé au généreux donateurs. L'histoire du chapitre aura lieu entre le tome 1 et le tome 2 et permettra de découvrir de nouveaux lieux à Heatown.

Quand je fais mes croquis et mes recherches pour les décors, je me donne comme challenge de mettre en valeurs des lieux qui au premier abord pourrait paraitre tout à fait banal, voir repoussant, tel qu'ici avec un terrain de basket et un local de gestion du réseau fluvial abandonné. Mais j'ai tout de même mes limites, je m'imagine mal sublimer un radiateur ou rendre séduisante une botte en caoutchouc. Quoique avec un peu de maquillage, je connais certains collègues d'atelier déviants qui pourraient être tentés.

Toujours concernant la conception de mes décors, je fais toujours en sorte d'essayer d'exprimer le plus de bazar et de dispersions dans les éléments présents sur la scène. Il est toujours difficile de mettre du chaos dans nos dessins car notre esprit résonne souvent de manière géométrique en alignant par réflexe les différents détails d'une composition. Il faut se forcer à éparpiller les éléments qui construisent notre image pour donner plus de vie à la scène.
Une astuce pour cette technique : repenser à un scène chaotique tel que la chambre petite sœur, le frigo d'un étudiant ou l'assemblée nationale.

So while *greybriar and I were sitting at the table working on commissions last night, they suggested I make a gem brush to spare myself from hours of painting each and every one of them by hand. BEST. IDEA. EVER. So this morning for a few hours I sat and made these 25 brushes of pure unadulterated magic. I'm debating making a tutorial on how to use them, but its more fun to actually figure out how to make them work instead of doing it "my way". Anyway, yay brushes! 8D
These were created in Photoshop CS2 and should be compatible from CS2 and onward~

Rules - If you use them, please give me credit and a link back to either this deviation or my page would be greatly appreciated! You can use these for anything you want, including commercial work. The only thing I don't allow is selling the brushes exactly as they are, so that means don't stamp them on a plain white bg and try to make cash off them.
