Maned Wolf Portrait

A small portrait of a Maned Wolf, as observed at the Denver Zoo.

Despite the name, maned wolves are not actually wolves, nor are they foxes (which they sort of look like). In fact, they are the only member of the genus Chrysocyon, and are not related to any other canids alive today. It is thought that they are perhaps the sole large land predator that survived the Pleistocene extinction. Either way, they are a very old species, and are really cool.

The wolf family moved to a new habitat in April.
It's far bigger than an old habitat, so they're playful and lively recently.

They were watching Przewalski's Horses curiously. Horses live in the next area of a wolf den.
Wolf's eyes may regard horses as a meal.

A little painting I did for art class, only took about 5 days in my free time. It was suppose to be kinda metaphorical and such, a naive child shirking off his responsibilities, the idea is credit to a friend of mine who randomly suggested it xD but I went with it.

Done back in February/Early March.

The middle design which is blacked out is because I wish to revamp it a bit more, and to be honest, I'm too lazy to finishing colouring metal seeing as the middle one is mecha/armor.
I honestly wanted to revamp it the other ones a little bit more too, but seeing as I haven't uploaded anything for quite a while... So here you go.

Arren+Aria refs

These started off as just doodles but then i made them into a ref #v#

Adult Arren and Aria, Piv and Zan's baby dumbs. We usually draw them as puppies but they'd technically already be all grown up (esp arren) so ! yeah

Arren looks a lot like his dad but inherited mommazan's fluff and curly tail (Though he can't curl it against his back like zan can. He has more of a husky curl). He used to own dad's old green glowstick but that was destroyed around the same time he got his scar. I'll explain how he got it some other time

Aria looks more like a mix between piv and zan and her coat is silky and sleek. She loves music and singing!!

Both of them are bigger than Zan, but smaller than Piv. A giant wolf and a teeny dog made some normal-sized babs glsjkdf

the top two were drawings of photos (from the allthingseurope tumblr); the bottom two are sketches done in Old Montreal with my friend ~ameru while I was visiting Canada!

One of my favorite sketch bloggers, Marc Taro Holmes, recently posted a blog entry titled "Composition: The Gradient of Interest" [link]. I had already drawn/watercolored these pictures before I saw this blog post, but I find it extremely relevant to the way I work and I hope that some of you will find it useful as well.
