Commissioned for of his character Yamitoral.

Another head/bust commission. ^^ I don't get commissioned to do head shots to often, so I always get excited when I do. This was the second in a series of two commissions I did for *kryvnus of his character, and it was also my first attempt at drawing a irezumi (the fancy colorful tattoo) on a character. But overall I'm quite pleased with it. ^^

Sorry too for the watermark covering her forehead... I couldn't really fit it in there without covering part of her face.

Painted completely in photoshop.

I was waiting for some feedback on a job and was doodling about when this popped up. It represents an entire idea for a new book really. Not something I really would need as I have plenty already to work on. I spent a little more time on it than I probably should have too, but I couldn't help it. I'll not do a colour version for a change though as this seems to suit the situation very well already.

Primarily made for my girl ~LovesRizz to put on her apartment wall, but also to regain my confidence again in my art and what I can and can't do. See before I made "one life" there was this person (who shall remain unnamed) on here who was full of hatred towards me and my art, so much so they started to post things that were untrue. When I blocked one account, they came back on another and another and another just to post their hate filled comments. I've not always been nice to people on here over the years, but never has it escalated to something that dire, never has someone come back some 2 years later to harass me more after the initial harassment on their primary account. So much for moving on... Anyway; it rattled me, enough to question whether or not I ever wanted to do art ever again. It's supposed to be my happy place.... this is a confidence piece, a regain of my strengths and a highlight of my weaknesses to work on in the future. Thank you to those who watched the finish of this on join.me, you're all stars ~ made me find my artwork base again

Uncovered is quite literally a piece about coming back out of the shadows and leaving the fear behind. I am who I am, I cannot please everyone and I don't intend to, if you don't like me then so be it, just get on with your life and I'll get on with mine. simple.

More school work. This time it's actually a sketch for what is going to be my next watercolor painting. The assignment this time around is to do a low chroma, complementary color painting. I decided to do this image based on a short story that I wrote over the winter entitled "The Moon and the Water." I wrote the story to be presented as a children's picture book, and after I graduate I plan on illustrating it and if possible, presenting it to a publisher. I'm really quite fond of the story, but this is the first art I've done related to it. If the watercolor comes out nice, then I'll try to post it for you guys. But if not, well I still like the image, so I decided to go ahead and share the sketch version. :> Basically, before I do any traditional paintings (watercolor or not... but especially for watercolor. XD) I do a digital color comp first, just to get my values and colors settled. No sense in wasting paint after all. Plus, doing these just helps to get the colors pinpointed, which I definitely need when working in watercolors. XD So yeah, have fun with this little sketch! I'm about finished with a little larger something that I've been doing for you guys. Hopefully it'll be done in the next couple days. :3

This one took longer to finish than I expected. After some sleepless nights, and loooong days, I finally did another MLP drawing. Yay. Still experimenting with the style though.
I started with a Nouveau-ish construction, as always, and... I was like "Fuck the canvas", I sneezed, and magic happened.

You may be asking yourself some questions:

"-What does Sunominius mean ?"
Well, it's a word recomposed with Souno- and Minio-, respectively meaning Dream/Sleep and Sweet in Gaulish. But since gaulish had a weird grammatical construction, and we do not have a lot of information about it, it may be wrong. But from what I read in Delamarre's book "Dictionnaire de la langue gauloise", it's the closest thing I could find. And I seriously think it's correct. But, if you speak gaulish better than me, tell me ! I'd be happy to correct it. So from what I know now, it means Sweet Dreams.

"-And why gaulish ?" 'cause it's been a while that I study it and I thought I could start to use it.
"-What's gaulish ?" Google. Now.

I was hoping to get some Jowy web comic action done today or another FIM title card but the addictive game of geo Guesser distracted me this morning . Then early this afternoon I decided to finally read a comic/picture book I brought a while back done by one of my now favorite cartoonists/illustrators Kyle Baker. Seriously his art style stands out from the competition his unique lineart expressive characters and use of tone are just fantastic . This attempted digital sketch I did inspired by his Nat Turner Revolution story about the american slave rebellion does not do his work real justice.

If you want to see a different comic artist I recommend Mr. Baker it shows you how even the roughest styles of cartooning can be just as beautiful as Norman Rockwell or Axel Ross.

History:

Hilton came from a small, somewhat wealthy, traditional family who constantly tried to curb Hilton's not-so-typically-feminine behaviour by shoving puffy and frilly dresses in her way while trying to teach her how to be a proper lady. Their constant forcive efforts did little to stop Hilton's tinkering, as they found out all too late after she had hotwired her elder brother's car and tampered with the rest to prevent their immediate chase.

Growing up, Hilton started reading books about machinery and engineering from her school's collection of books. She tinkered with various devices around the house and despite her parents' disapproval, continued anyway.

She ran away from home at the age of 18 and despite caring for her family, she had no qualms about stealing from them before she left because of how much grief they gave her for her passion and "not acting like a true lady". She spent time in various towns, ranging from weeks to months depending on how well she did doing odd jobs for the local people (spoiler: she was never really too well off in any town).

She sometimes gets lonely, however, which lead to her making Talos to keep around more like a personal pet than the other automatons she'd put together beforehand.

Personality:

Hilton is cheerful and outgoing, but somewhat lacks social skills. She will often disregard personal space before realizing she's doing it and can sometimes get distracted in the middle of a conversation by having something else catch her attention.

She is very stubborn, however, and doesn't like being told what to do. She also gets pretty aggressive whenever someone makes a comment on her not being typically feminine.

-Hilton curses a lot, often without noticing.
-Her hair colour is not natural.
-Hilton admits that Talos wasn't particularly built to be practical- it doesn't necessarily have anything it's useful for. The only thing that Talos boasts is its durability.

So I've finally found a place for the Bone Man [link] in Witchery, as a merchant who deals in magical items. Got a cursed book you're looking to get rid of? He'll buy it. Looking for an enchanted engagement ring to guarantee she'll say yes? He's got your back!

How this works into the story is that Isobel's sister Charlotte was something of a vendor for the Bone Man before her death. She would trade him her potions for hard-to-find ingredients, such as monster eyes, that she needed in order to advance in her potionry. Now that Charlotte's dead, the Bone Man is looking to purchase potions from Isobel, but he has nothing he can give her in return, since Isobel really doesn't have any problems harvesting monster eyes and the like herself. [link]

So this pic is basically just the Bone Man trying to persuade Isobel to sell her potions, and Isobel doing her best to ignore him. She hasn't had much luck in getting rid of him though, because he's got so many powerful magical items with him that he's basically omnipotent. He can go anywhere he wants, whenever he wants, and is frequently in many different places at the same time. As you can likely imagine, that serves him very well in his business.

That season finale just broke my heart. I had to have Cas and Dean be together.

The background is a picture of a real meteor shower. The body of Dean is from the pit scene at the end of Swan Song, but his head is from Free to be You and Me. Cas' picture is from the park bench scene in The Man Who Would be King. Then I ran it through an oil-painting filter.

What Do We Have Here? (Commission)

The knight, Iclare wanders into the den of a dragon in search of fortune and glory. He has found much more than he bargained for.
Don't worry. he won't eat him. She finds him too cute and amusing to do so.

Commissioned piece for Sharae the ice dragoness of her and her friend's characters together. I tried a few experimental techniques with this and had loads of fun working on it.

I was given the concept behind the picture, and I suggested a medieval theme for it, since I though these two characters in this setting would look really cool. I had an image in my head that was similar to Bilbo's meeting with Smaug in the Hobbit book. >_<

Graceling Bulgarian Book Cover

So, I was approached by a small bulgarian publishing company to create book cover for the bulgarian edition of Graceling.
I have to say as a big fantasy fan it a was big honor, and after reading the book, which I really liked, I was even more excited.

Studies from Hampton's figure drawing book. Establishing the "envelop" of the foot is very helpful. Perspective on toes is challenging.

It's a bit old, I've done it in January, but still...

Those two are Maalik and Kristoffer from one of our books about a brothel. Maalik being the prostitute and Kristoffer his most important client.
The dude is acting like someone reeeaaally cool, but is in the end a control freak full of weird compulsions. Kristoffer wishes he could be Maalik's one and only client, but since "he's cool" he can bare with the idea that he's not his (no he can't) and doesn't dare to ask it even though Maalik would gladly accept it.
