I will probably spot so many things later that I want to correct and/or change, but meh. For now, I'm somewhat pleased. It'll do.

IT IS FINALLY DONE.

The gorgeous Ms. Stana Katic, Katherine (Kate) Beckett of ABC's "Castle" and quite possibly the world's most beautiful human being.

Yep. I went there.

I spent an especially long time on the hair because it's sort of Stana's iconic thing, and because my hair painting skills needed work. I'm pretty proud of it, if I do say so myself.

ENJOY THE HELL OUT OF IT.

I find doing portraits somewhat relaxing, they're a good way to warm up.
I'm trying to steer away from only doing portraits since they don't encourage much creativity.
However, I love Stana Katic. She's beautiful, intelligent, cares about the enviroment and is a fantastic actress.

This is just the painted version of this drawing

Her jacket's just blocked in really, but I think it's OK enough to leave it there. I just wanted to see what colours would be like over the inks - just in case it's pull together.

It's supposed to be Beckett, Stana Katic's character from Castle. I'll leave it to you to decide if it looks even remotely like her!

Really, all I think this shows how bloody awful my inking is at the moment. I think the pencils are OK, and there's some hitting of the likeness, but that all dies with the inking.

I am so afraid of this woman after reading Heat Wave. oh, damn.

see that's the reason why they didn't give character descriptions in the book. they wanted you to visualize Stana as Heat and Beckett.

but still. i found a lovely picture of stana and wanted to do something; just to play around while i gave myself an excuse not to go read fanfictions.

This is my new Friday project: Friday Portraits.

One of the many areas I need to improve is getting likenesses right, so if I have time, every Friday, I'll have a go at a portrait.

First up is Stana Katic, who I guess is mostly famous for co-starring in the marvelous Castle.

I did think about putting these up with no name attached, but decided it'd be too depressing when noone recognised who it was supposed to be!

Stana Katic Digital Painting.

For the past several months I've been trying my hand at an actual digital painting, the other DP that is in my gallery (It's in storage) was made when I couldn't figure out how to make one, I used the Mixer Brush. But yesterday, I had a revelation! After deciding to give up on digital painting for awhile, I was recharged and I decided to try something new. It actually worked!
