My new digital painting was made as a cover art for a new book of czech writer Petr Schink. The books name is Dirty work and it is inspired by the game Fallout. It takes place in alternative fifties, when the energy crisis culminates. The books hero is a hacker and gangster. The cover art was made in photoshop and it took many many hours of work. I better dont count them The book is only in czech, but if is here some interested publisher, you can contact me in my profile

Well finally it's done.

This piece is wall paper sized, 1024x768, and yes, as you can see, it's pixel art. Did it in 2 weeks, took about 4-5 hours a day. Many of the buildings are a pain, and I don't think there are any identical buildings there. The trees are also very hard, and well.. it's killing my eyes.

I am very happy that it is finished now, which means I can move on to making other works, instead of just dwelling in this project hehehe.

I would like to personally thank =howling because I am actually following his "style" of pixel art. I would also like to thank =budgieishere for letting me use his anfiled stadium as a reference.

There you go, it's done finally...

Enjoy it! I know I do!

27/07/05 *EDIT*: I changed all the trees, I can assure you now =ryan-gfx that it is pixelated hehe. Thank you for pointing out though seriously... the colour count is down to 922, but hell that's alot more than I thought. I guess I should've used existing colours instead of just taking a random colour from the colour bar. I'll re-edit it again soon.

28/07/05 *EDIT*: Minor changes. I found out as well that previously I turned it into GIF and dithered it a bit. Turned out dithering into GIF exploded my colours. My actual colors are only 522... then turned out to be 1700 something as ryan mentioned. Now it's down to 922, will need to fix it more.

28/07/05 *EDIT*: A more major editing. I downsized the colours to about 500ish I think, much better than it was at first. I never should've dithered it in anyway and resize whatever. Added some underground items. And yes, that's a giant's fossil..

28/07/05 *EDIT*: Major editing, color is now 260. As low as I can go I think.

So I wanted my own self-motivation poster to keep me going even when I have a hundred other things I'd like to/need to do, to keep me focused. The humorous concept of a soviet bear was first brought up by a friend, and I couldn't help but go the full blown soviet poster route.

This was actually quite fun, and this is probably the fastest I've ever finished anything: Three hours from start to finish. The line art was inked by hand with a brush pen, and the color was added in Photoshop CS3. The paper texture came from CGTextures, and the font was "Russian," downloaded from dafont.com. Thankfully, my tablet appears to have finally agreed to get along with my computer. (Thanks to ~PinkPonyFarts! I'm sure it was your last tablet driver update suggestion that did the trick! )

Also: Hooray, bears! And something very different!

"Spy Sappin' My Great Work"

Obviously, this poster design is based on Leonardo Da Vinci's magnum opus, (or "great work"), The Mona Lisa.

It's the third piece in my "Thinking Outside the Orange Box" series.

I'm becoming very familiar with Photoshop now. While I'm still new at it, I'm starting to get used to all the tools. I used a lot more for this project than I did with anything else I've made so far.

I probably spent over 15 hours on this piece. I didn't keep track of the time getting screenshots of the spy, or when I was editing the original Mona Lisa out of the background (and trying to make the empty space look at least something like the original work - it's already impossible to improve upon Da Vinci, you know...)

The mask was a lot of fun to make, It's always interesting to think what else a spy could disguise himself as. I added the cigarette, because the spy is never without his smokes.

The idea for this piece is what got me started on this entire series. I wanted to be sure to spend enough time on it to make it one of my best pieces yet. Also, since it was my original idea, I didn't want it to suck - lol. Like I said, I'm not great with Photoshop yet...

This is probably the last poster I'll make for a while, so tell me what you think!

Wanted to illustrate that the Tiefling was a dragon hunter more instead of just having dragons in the BG...I might work on it more later on, as I do with oh so many entries.

I wanted to add the jester to show that I wasn't using a toy model to paint it, it was constructed from scratch, I also don't use photo colors or swatches, I'm free with my color choices, I pick them from the color wheel not pre-made swatches. The upper left jester was a pre rendering, I call them 'mock-ups' for some reason, it's basically a quick coloring of what I intend the final to look like, usually the mock-up is done in an early lining version at low resolution, then I save it and possibly use it as reference for when I start the full resolution coloring.

added the wall girl just for fun, that's what the lines and flat colors looked like. There's also my atempt at Clint Eastwood, not from photoreference but I did measure his face proportions before doing the sketch, I think it looks more like the guy from CSI though XDD "He fell off the roof and died on impact, here in the Spring, dead after the Fall, boooyaahhh!" <- he's never said that but I wouldn't be surprised.

Anyway, the pirate girl is a work in progress, I started it actually a long time ago in 2008 and lost some interest in it, but I'm back on coloring it.

the rest is just random impulse crappy stuff.

I started this a month ago, and I just now had a little time to SOMEWHAT finish it.

That's my messy drawing desk, that my Dad bought me when I graduated from high school. I told him I wanted to draw comics, and did everything I could to get there. This desk is obviously small, but it means a lot to me, I'll probably never get rid of it. Although I'll admit I need to get another one!

That's the same look I get on my face when I run into artist block. Since I love to draw, work is play, play is work, blah okay, back to work!

I don't know how long it took, did it in small increments, I don't think its done yet, but who knows when I'll get to drew aside from work again.

I saw them do this "hand thing" at the end of the Sonic Heroes (which is the new game appearing next year) short movie I saw at Sonic Central. Ones that seen it, I know the drawing I did here doesn't look exactly like it in the Sonic Heroes movie ^^;
I know Rouge has a new look (but I dunno how to draw that yet, I need a full picture of her new look).
Anyways, um here is Shadow & Rouge doing the knuckle hand hit (my friend told me that New York ghetto people do that in the old days).
The background? Pictures/screenshots of Shadow & Rouge ^^! Where I got those screen shots? I taken them myself X3 Snapshot! XO Shadow & Rouge work together 3 times.
-Sonic Adventure 2 (Also Eggman) XP But..everytime Shadow & Rouge are alone, Eggman goes bothering them. Kill him!! !!
-Sonic X "And together, they'll stop at nothing to get what there after" XP! (I forgot how they say it in the Sonic X Movie ^^;; ) Also,they working for Eggman here. But Shadow & Rouge are working alone on something. (with no telling Eggman I think) I dunno what Shadow & Rouge are after yet though...I want to know x.x;

I have a two-year-old of my own and I created this image to capture how I often feel throughout the day as I rescue my child from random dangers. Thing is, he does not see the danger. It is a wide world of interesting and beautiful things to him. For a mother, the challenge is to know when to intervene and when to let a child learn through their own experiences.

I got the idea (which lead to this artwork) during art lesson in school. I thought about "art" in an modern, multi-medial aspect and wrote down some keywords. The next step was turning this "tag-cloud" into a nice concept.
I thought about the two basic elements of art: form and color.
How could these two parts be combined in a good looking and dynamic concept? My first idea was a splash of paint flowing behind the main part. The other keywords should be grouped around this paint splash.
So I did some first sketches. "Art" should be the main part in front of the paint splashes. Tags like graphic, design, eye-catching etc. shpuld describe the aspect of modern art combined with the title "Art is not work" on the lower left-hand side and "Art is expressing your imagination" on the upper right-hand side.
The title(s) are presented in a different color in order to stand out of the other tags.
After some tries I was pretty satisfied with the work and just did some finishing.
I also sent this artwork to the Crossmedia Contest 2010 in Bavaria, Germany (multimedia contest for bavarian students).

I hope you like it and it would be nice if you leave some feedback in the comments or even this deviation

Hell yeah, a snuffen raking some leaves while floating in nothinness. How badass is that.

I actually really love how this turned out from being drawn in 10 seconds (not counting coloring) xD whoohoo for random quick shapes.

Also, the preview image and the full size image are wildly incoherent in color; the color profiles must be off or something and I am way too lazy to both fixing it right now. The preview is the more accurate intention, somehow!
