I just got back from Key West a few days ago and burned the ever-loving crap out of my back. Instead of putting a bra on and being a productive member of society, I drew this little piece.

Not much to say. The background is a just a redone version of a picture I took of a garden in the Bahamas.

Yeah this one isn't really that funny, I mostly made it to try out some stuff but ended up liking it enough from a visual standpoint that I decided to upload it. I've changed some photoshop settings so now I can finally use a non-pressure-sensitive brush which is a big help. Also trying some facial expressions, there's 5 in this comic.

EDIT: So apparently my monitor isn't the best for colours. I looked at this on another screen and could see several places where Rarity's coat had 2 different shades where I had done some alterations. I can only just see the difference on my screen :/. Fixed now.

EDIT2: Note: The pony in the background of frame 3 is not a second Applejack, it's a background pony called Buttercup. : D Carrot Top is in the first frame also.

MLP:FIM is owned by Hasbro.

'Kanaya's Garden'

Kanaya Maryam is out in her garden, trimming hedges.

She has a magnificent garden, that all the respectable ladies come to visit each Sunday. (This normally consists of Jade, Nepeta, Feferi and sometimes John, wearing fancy hats and drinking tea).

One day, Karkat comes with them.

"HAVE YOU EVER NOTICED HOW HALF THE HEDGES LOOK LIKE THAT WEIRDASS SQUIDDLE-SKULL-THING THAT ROSE TOTES AROUND ON HER SHIRT"

"I MEAN SERIOUSLY, HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU WASTE ON THIS EVERY WEEK?"

Kanaya begrudgingly admits that because Rose always sleeps in so long, she has a lot of spare time to spend on her garden, in the hopes that one day, Rose will wake up and notice it.

But the truth is that in the middle of the night, when Rose cannot sleep because the whispers of the Old Ones invade her dreams, she quietly slips out of bed to see what Kanaya has done in the garden.

So in the morning, when Kanaya asks "What Do You Think Of The Garden Dear?" Rose smiles coyly, and replies;

"That hedge sculpture of me in the entrance-way is very flattering."

Needless to say, Kanaya is pleasantly surprised.

Garden Party: Petrified

This has nothing to do with my other pony comic, but I wanted to get this out.

It's spooky enough for October, I think.

At least Nightmare Night.

A different and/or deeper look into the Sculpture Garden.

The very first establishing shot IS an edited screenshot from the show, so Copyright Hasbro and all that jazz.
I also used some cloud cutouts from in the third panel. (Of whom said they were free to use)
But the rest is completely mine.

Hey there. Wow, thank you all for the attention this has gotten!
I might have expected the views once it got posted to EqD, but all the comments and speculation has been such a pleasant surprise.

When I doodled out the thumbnail layout for this idea my main goal was to invoke a little bit of horror. (What better time than October?)
The kinds of scares I always loved were always the 'in broad daylight' scares. Not particularly the dramatically lit spooky dark ones.

I had everything inked before 'Lesson Zero' aired but added the second to last panel afterwards.
It was interesting to see how freaked out Twilight was over what she assumed 'Celestia would do to her' while I was adding the backgrounds to this.

This had always been planned as a oneshot. I had never planned on going any deeper. But the fandom/bronies seem to want to. So I think I'm going to let them take this how they please and write their own stories behind it. There were a lot of great ideas floating around in the comments across the internet. I was flattered and pleased that this could spark something creative within the fandom.

If I ever do go deeper into this it won't be for a long time, I still have another multi-part comic I'm working on in addition to other things.

So please, indulge yourselves. And thank you for enjoying!

I finished this piece some weeks ago but totally forgot it XD This picture is started with the fountain, one of my favorite things in the movie is this huge marble fountain, (thought the sizes here are not correct) I made it and then added Jas and Rajah, and then I made some lame background XD Yeah, my trees and especially the bushes are not the best I know, but oh well overall I'm still satisfied with this piece Enjoy!

Our Secret Garden ( from " bearing a family")

After garding the great wall for 7 months, shang finally got to come home. Shang couldn't wait to see his beautiful wife mulan with her glowing smile, and his little ping who was just begging to take his first steps.

Shang looked down at his saddle pack and saw the little stuffed bunny he bought ping. he smiled, he was almost home and coudn't wait to see his family.

Shang finally came to the gate, he walked sunie to the stables and unloaded his saddle packs. He picked up the bunny and begain to walk towards the his house.

Shang slowly opened the door
"Hello? anyone home?"
Shang's mother came walking out of one of the rooms, with ping holding her hand, trying to walk.
"Baba!!" Ping shouted in excitment with his little baby voice.
Ping tried his best to speed up his steps to get to shang, but he didn't have much progress.
"Ping!" Shang said happiy as he walked up to ping and picked him up.

Ping tryed his best to give his father a hug, but he was so little his arms didn't go very far.
"I got somthing for you." Shang said as he pulled the bunny out of his bag. Ping's smile grew even bigger when he saw the small toy, he laughed with excitment , and gave the bunny a big hug

Shang loved his son very much, and knew he was a very happy baby, always smiling and laughing. Shang kissed pings forehead, and gave him back to his mother.

Shang's mother took ping, then gave her son a hug.
"He is just like you when you were his age, just a ball of energy." His mother told him.
Shang laughed," So what are you doing here anyway, I thought you moved to tao house?" Shang asked
" Your mother can't come and see her only grandchild,".
Shang rased one eyebrow.
" Well I am really here to help mulan while you were gone, ping needs to be watched every minute, and she can't do house work and take care of a baby at the same time. Expesually in her condition."
" What condition!? is she ok?!!" Shang asked worried.

Shang's mother looked at him wierd, "you don't know do you?"
"KNOW WHAT?"
" I will just let her tell you........or show you."
"Hu?"
" Nevermind, just go put some comfable clothes on, and then you can see for your self out in the garden." His mother said while pushing him into his room, with her one free hand.

Shang quickly got dressed in his red and gold robe, with his hair down in a low pony tail. Shang walked quickly to the garden. He saw Mulan sittining on the bench.
"Mulan." He yelled to get her attention.
Mulan quickly turned around, and shang could finally see what his mother was talking about. She was preagent, finally preagnet, after all that work trying to have another baby they sucsessed!
"Mulan!" he said excitedly as he ran towards her.
"Shang!" She said as he picked her up and tworled her.
Shang sat her back down and kissed her passonitely.

Mulan and shang walked towards thier spot in the garden. Shang helped mulan sit down on the grass. Her stomic was so big she had to lean back just to be able to sit, Mulan held herself up with her arms. Shang sat on his knees near her feet, but scotted up to touch her stomic.

"So we finally did it!"
"We finally did it." Mulan smiled.
Shangs smile grew huge, " Not to be rude, but your much bigger than when you had ping."
" I know, it's because this one is full term, the baby should be due anyday now."

Shang kept getting happier by the minute, He placed his hands on her stomicto feel the baby. Shang leaned over and kissed mulan passiontly again.

"This is how this little guy got started, in the garden." Mulan said sarcasticly.
"Well this is the place were things become fertalized, and grow to he beautiful and stong.........Thats why it's our garden." Shang's foehead toched mulan's, while his hands where still on her stomic, "Our secret garden."

yep ya'll just got a big sneek peak at the new story! but anyway ....this was a idea I had today, I think it turned out really good, it was kinda a makeup for the "new parents" series, ya know the ones that sucked, and made shang look disfromed. well anyway this is just a pic I thought of, and another thing put I didn't know shang could look so sexy with his hair in a pony tail XD LOL, but anyway hope ya'll lie it

A few things here in case it wasn't clear:

Up to this point, there have maybe been a few sensations and even pictures that Willow has been able to sense from other ponies, but tonight is special. Whether that's because of being burned out or as a portent of things to come, I don't know. In either case, circumstances being what they are, she's in for a rough night.

Rook spent his time waiting building a strong barrier for Rose's flower. There was plenty of debris around and he didn't have anything to do anyway.

Yes, Crabapple has the distinction of being one of the few ponies that Winter Willow can't read at all. She feels confused and uneasy when she's near him.

Luau is a mentor and older-sister figure to both Crabapple and Willow. Though she seemed very "Pinkie Like" before, that's just an expression of her vast energy. Her individual character will become more apparent in time.

As for Celestia's vision, it's a possible future that she saw should she fail tonight. Yes, Celestia is dead. Yes, those things are coming from the Maisma. Yes they have hands.

Chao Garden

Who didn't like the Chao gardens from way back in Sonic Adventure 1 and 2?

These little guys were so fun to draw. Blank stares and their adorably big heads made working with them a real delight. The star of this picture is all about how they interact. From concept to execution, I knew I wanted each one of the Chao to vie for the viewers attention (as they vie for the attention of the lucky little guy on center stage). Chao will always be a big part of the series for me so I am so glad I was able to squeeze them into this project..... although I still haven't gotten over the shock that I somehow decided not to make this picture a "Chao in Space" reference.... wow.

This is supposed to be Rosetta, the garden fairy from the Tinkerbell Movies. I bet you wouldn't have recognized her if I wouldn't have told you now. She doesn't look really like herself in my style, I'm just bad at drawing young and cute characters...

She's my favorite among the Disney Fairies!
I also hate mud even though I like flowers. At least I like to draw them, I'm not really nature's greatest friend.

My mother always rails against me still watching those kid's movies at my age but I don't think you can ever get too old for something you like.
I love how those movies make you feel like a little girl (or boy) again. It's so fun to feel as free and careless like a child again while watching them! Even if it only lasts for 90 minutes...
But I still believe in fairies and pixie dust! Somehow, at least a little bit. Not sure if I still would say the same about faith and trust though. That's something I started to doubt when I got older. It's kind of sad you begin to question everything and only believe what you can prove when you're getting older. But there are some things I just refuse to lose my faith in!

I've been wanting to do something with this quote for several (4?) years now, but nothing I came up with seemed to work well enough...especially considering how bad I am at drawing flowers and this required a lot of them, lol.
I've seen two people credited for this quote, with two slightly different versions of the quote itself, but I picked this one since I couldn't find any info on the other lady...and I like this one better anyway, lol.
I only changed 'thought' to 'think' because I thought 'thought' meant I was done thinking and...I'm not XD

Just as a little piece of trivia:
My favorite flower is the Cornflower/Bachelor's Button. Mostly because of it's meaning of celibacy, blessedness, hope in love, delicacy, tenderness, fidelity, and reliability.
And it's such a pretty blue color~ ♥

Also, I know I could have picked a more elegant, calligraphic font, but Scrubadoo has sorta become the officially unofficial font for Keepsake, lol

Xelloss seems like the type of person who would really enjoy the story of the Garden of Eden. it just sort popped into my head AS I was loading the submission page, and because I suck at titles, I just decided to roll with it.

I don't really like the leaf shadow effect I used, but the version without it seem lacking. Maybe eventually I can do a better job and replace the image.

I love XellossxLina. And I don't care what you say. If you can't appreciate it for being an alternative pairing, appreciate it for being what it actually is: artwork.

This is a follow-up to the teen-baby Bubbles picture that I commissioned from *bbmbbf much earlier - I commissioned him again to do this one of Blossom and Buttercup enjoying a lazy hot summer afternoon in the garden.

There is so much cuteness in this one, and I wanted the image to give the impression that Blossy and B-Cup were acting more childishly than usual. Well, even if she was really little, you just know that Blossom would still be reading some complicated book, so there she is. But the thumb-sucking gave her a cuter, more childlike attitude.
The panties that they're wearing were also my idea to give them a less mature appearance (they were originally meant to be diapers, not bloomers). Buttercup is entirely believable - in fact, even if she were acting normally, I think she'd still be sprawled out in the shade of a tree, stuffing her face with juicy berries. But just to add that last touch, I asked for her to be splattered randomly with berry juice, as she's feeling all hot and lazy (and because babies often wear half their meal too).

Finally, as a bit of a foot-lover, I asked Bbmbbf to have Blossom kicked her flip-flop off and running her toes absentmindedly through Buttercup's hair. What with the foot lightly rubbing up the side of her head, the heat generally, and a bellyfull of juicy berries, I could quite easily see Buttercup dozing off soon. Cute.

Relent sat in the parlor alone, attempting to read some ancient ancestral diary, while Hope sat as usual in the spring just inside the garden's perimeter. For once, she was actually tending to her duties of the Security head. A number of small butterfly-like creatures had been harvested that morning, and released into the garden to patrol the perimeter. Every hour or so, one would return to Hope as she sat in the spring with a report, before taking root and being replaced.

The clock in the parlor struck noon, and Hope's eyelids fluttered open to see a small red butterfly landing on the tip of her nose. It whispered an alarming report to her, before fluttering to the ground, taking root, and blossoming into a dahlia. Hope rose from the spring, and squeezed the water from her bathing skirt. She put on her corset and conjured a new sentinel, giving in a potent seed to carry to a specific location in the garden, which she would follow closely.

Sassy, in her full t'ka garb, had wandered away from the main camp in search of firewood. She pulled a few branches from the deader looking trees and gathers twigs and dried leaves for fodder. She looked into the clouds to see a swarm of peculiar butterflies circling, and assuming she was close to their nest or something, moved along, careful not to step on anything in which the eggs might be concealed. She found them an odd species, stranger than her native fauna, in that they resembled flora. Perhaps a defense mechanism meant to fool predators.
As she considered these insects scientifically, her foot became snagged on some manner of root. It was low growing, with a bow just high enough to catch her. Had she been moving more quickly she might have fallen to her face. But as she tried to pull her foot backward and out of the snag it sank deeply into the moist soil, and she found herself stuck. She kneeled to the ground and began trying to dig her foot out with her fingers, but her fingers became ensnared in more roots still. Stranger still, she thought she felt something...licking her finger?
She felt the light graze of teeth, and thinking it some submerged badger, began to panic, pulling at her hand as if she were a stubborn child being lead out of a grocery store. But the roots seemed to be offering more resistance the more she struggled, and whatsmore she began to feel them tightening, not only in magnitude of force but in number of coils. Was something growing here? around her arm like a lattice in a garden?
In her concentration, she failed to feel the root emerging from the ground and wrapping around the knee of her other foot. It was only when she tried to stand and use her body to lever free her hand did she realize that she was slowly being immobilized. Was this some manner of man-eating plant? No, that was science fiction and nothing more. It must be some sort of over-grown fly-trap, harmless to her. Even the teeth underground nibbling at her fingers felt too soft and spongy to do any damage to her. But that tongue; it was so long, and slimy, penetrating the crevices between her fingers as if it were trying to feel for the shape of the organism it had trapped. It was beginning to tickle her palm, and she suppressed an urge to squeal.
Next she realized that her trapped foot was receiving similar attention from a second underground soft-toothed organism. Its tongue probed between each of her toes with surprising dexterity and laped underneath and around the base of each toe like an octopus. She couldnt contain her screams any longer as she was reduced into a fit of laughter.
Hope fluttered near the ground, in the cover of the trees awaiting an indication of the intruder's capture. When she heard a sharp squeal from somewhere in the distance she knew that her trap-seed had done its office. With her keen ears she was able to locate the source of the laughing.

The clock in the parlor struck 3, and Relent looked up from his tome surprised that he had not heard from Hope all afternoon. The sun would be setting soon, and she usually would have come in to start preparing dinner by now. She was probably asleep in the spring, so he went to go wake her.
After finding the spring empty he followed a trail of petals into the garden's unkempt maze, a protocol enforced in case Hope should run into some trouble, so she might be located. While she could fly over the fallen trees, and brambles, Relent was bound to the ground, and seeing no point in wasting what might be necessary energy in climbing over the obstacles compressed himself into a smaller more discreet state to walk under and between them. It would also serve to give him the element of surprise if he should find himself outnumbered.

After traveling some distance into the gathering darkness of the trees, he could hear a distant but distinct sound. Laughter. Screaming even. Was it Hope? What could she be doing now.
After locating the source of the sound, he realized that they would need to make some other arrangements for dinner, as Hope would be indisposed for quite some time. She'd found a new toy.

Octopus's Garden

"I'd like to be, under the sea, in an octopus's garden in the shade!"

I did this piece in honor of my dad's 55th birthday. Dad is a die hard Beatles fan (who raised me likewise), and gets a big kick out of Spongebob Squarepants. If, like him, you're familiar with the show, as well as Ringo Star's famous song, you'll get the connection. (At least I hope so. I'm terrible at drawing caricatures!) If not, Squidward appreciates the company of a fellow musician.

And before anyone write me, the creators of Spongebob have confirmed that depsite his name, Squidward IS an octopus. It makes sense, I swear!
