Scrooge was I believe about 10 years old when he made his first dime (Old Number One) and he emigrated to America at that same age, leaving behind his parents and his two little sisters. I dunno, I imagine that despite being the persevering, determined and bold McDuck that he is, I'm sure that Scrooge was probably even a tad bit afraid of leaving his family and going to make a living for himself. He had to grow up quickly due to this. I also believe that, being the last male of his clan, he had a lot of expectations set upon him, which for any child, will feel heavy at some point.

And the only thing he had to keep his hopes up was his Lucky Number One Dime, which he eventually built his empire on.

While I unfortunately did not have the pleasure of growing up with the Uncle Scrooge Comics, or any of the Disney ones, at least not until I was a teenager (my mother introduced me to her favorite series at that time, being Uncle Scrooge of course), I did do a lot of research into Donald and Scrooge's backgrounds, and I really want to purchase the Life and Times series eventually. They've got such a beautiful storyline to them Carl Barks and Don Rosa's stories were pure genius.

These two awesome characters have been on my "to draw" list for a long long time, so I finally sat down and drew them. I adore these two. They're an awesome couple and they're awesome parents.

I decided to make this one in black in white because A) I wanted to pay tribute to the classic TV show as well as the original comics, and B) I just wanted to. It was a lot of fun playing with thick heavy lines as well as large amounts of black on this one. It's not something I do too often (and I think it's the first time I've done it for a Couples piece), so it was really refreshing.
I didn't intend for them to be this kind of a mix of the movie Addams and the TV show Addams, but it kinda ended up being that way. XD Ah, well! I love both and I'm very happy with how this one turned out so it's all good.

And yes, that's a piece of his old staff Little Jack's clutching there. Those who think why isn't the SD in at the bottom firing on the fed ship, the answers is. It would risk some friendly fire if it misses, and as far as I see things the excelsior is enough agile to dodge a few shoots, what would than hit the "viewers" vessel. So it just there trying to block the way back to the asteroid field.

I love that excelsior, it mostly a costume ship of what I would like to have if I could do more than just imagine it.

He gently gazed towards Taffyta and Rancis; they hadn't moved a single inch from their deep and crumpled slumber. They remained slumped against each other, each of their mouths were just barely agape as they slept soundly. Their closed eyes still looked sunken with exhaustion from the day prior. Ralph rubbed his forehead gently and gazed up to the ceiling. He noticed that the window behind him was letting in very faint rays of light from outside. He figured it must be just before sunrise; the EZ Living sky outside was a very faint and early morning purple. He heaved a hard breath as every single event from the day prior came crashing into him like a pile of two ton bricks. He quickly averted his curious and tired gaze to Vanellope.

He jolted and nearly jumped clear out of his skin as he was finally met with a pair of dewy and exhausted hazel eyes. She remained completely still in staring, knowing silence. Ralph blinked quickly a few times, as if to make sure what he was really seeing was correct. He suddenly felt as if his stomach had sunk to the floor, the air grew suddenly stiff and tense as their long awaited eye contact held solid. He inhaled a nervous breath and froze, as if any sort of sudden movement would make this moment in time false. He almost began to feel scared; the way she peered back at him was almost haunting. Her eyes held so many inquiries, so many questions and concerns. The fact that her damaged brain code rendered her unable to speak made her daunting gaze all the more spooky, as if she was a ghost who sat in waiting, like the scheme to his game over was hers for the taking. Ralph finally inhaled a nervous breath for air, though he remained frozen, as if he didn't know what he should do first, now that she had finally woken up since the incident. She gazed at him through positively exhausted, clouded eyes; Ralph was finally assured this all wasn't just a dream the second she began to long blink in a curious manner. He wondered just how long she had been staring at him, silently begging him to wake up.

I thought I would try drawing something new... I've been writing this really sad and tragic part of my story and when I came to this part in my writing, this image (above) would not leave my mind, so I figured I'd try and draw it out... And it actually turned out to be almost exactly how I pictured it in my mind, which I'm really pleased about. This doesn't happen to me often

I don't ever draw sad or I guess 'darker' pieces, so this was actually a struggle for me. I really wanted to convey emotion here, the look of confusion on Vanellope's face. I figured I couldn't upload this piece w/o adding the snippet of the story to go with it w/o you guys being 100% lost
