For the record I'm not a pokefan. However, I remember when Pokemania invaded the country, the TV series, cards, games and all that stuff but what really baffled me was that the first movie never came to theaters here. I dunno why, there's now way I could have missed it cuz I was .... ahem well..sorta ...anticipating for it and I kept checking the schedules. And it never did show in cinemas. I ended up watching a cam version from a DVD you could buy in the sidewalk. Did I miss it? I dunno. I remember my little cousin going ape shit when I showed it to him cuz apparently he never got to see it in the big screen either. He called his cousins over to watch it LOL "There ya go you little pokebrats enjoy!"

My Neighbor Kurama

You have no idea how creeped out I was working on this, all the while being stared at by Totoro-Kurama. Hahaha! He's kinda cute though, at least fluffy and nice to hug maybe?

Background info on the artwork:

One of the more recent developments in Naruto that really gets me is the transition of the relationship between Naruto and Kurama, the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox. It's been rough, but now, oh man. That brofist in the Niwaka Ame Nimo Makezu anime opening... ~~BEST BROMODACHIS 5EVER~~

Ahem.

To commemorate their new bond, I wanted to draw a series of artworks of Naruto and Kurama as other famous human and creature companion pairs. First up is this — My Neighbor Kurama

Little Naruto was fun to draw in the style of Studio Ghibli. I hardly had any difficulties with the little tyke.

Kurama is another story, though. I don't know which is scarier, the original form of the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox or this thing I've drawn. Hahaha! Also, I've learned that it's a bit of a challenge positioning nine tails.

To be honest, Totoro has always kind of scared me even though everyone keeps going on about how cute he is. It was quite amusing to take that fear on another level and splice him with the Kyuubi. I'm definitely scared now!

I suppose this is also appropriate considering that during Naruto's early childhood, the Kyuubi was this thing lurking inside him that he didn't quite understand and caused much dread and apprehension.

(Just to share, I was creeped out by Totoro even before finding out about the Sayama Incident theory. Whether or not it is true, I do enjoy that idea and I felt it gave the movie much more depth.)

Process:

I had a lot of fun working on this, and am quite happy with the end result! The process was pretty simple.

I started the sketch on paper, scanned it, then inked and colored it in Photoshop. Just normal round brushes on Naruto and Kurama. I painted the background in Photoshop as well, using some textured brushes. One was called Flat Charcoal, and the other was like, Oil Pastel or something. I'm bad at names, hahah.

I'll post an entry about this (and the two other pieces in this series) on my art blog soon!

...Um, I understand that this is strange. But I wanted to try "彼パーカー"!
"彼パーカー" is a kind of MOE called "彼シャツ" with some popularity in Japan.
Its contents are, she(this case is "him") wears the big clothes of the boyfriend, she(this case is "him") be baggy it.
It becomes "彼シャツ(Kare-shatsu)" when translate "my lover's shirt".
The shirt turns into various things. coat, jacket and a hoodie...
If it is the big clothes which the lover wears elsewhere, it becomes MOE.
Anyway, this is intended to a physique difference MOE.
Ummm I hope that this sense has it be understood by my poor explanation!DX

Alright, so as previously stated I've become a stupid-big Naruto fan. Stuuuupid big. The main reason is just how great the characters are. And so, as you can see, I started mucking about with a big sloppy ode to series 1 in what scraps of free time I could cobble together over the last few months.

Well, finally, it's done. All the kids rushing the field, and whoever's on the other side of this better LOOK THE FRAKK OUT!!!

This was a lot of fun, even if I only got to work on it in tiny fits and starts. It gave me something entertaining and frivolous while in the midst of a very rough few months of work.

I didn't plan to color this.
But did anyways. This was laying in my PS for a long ass time, finally got the freedom to finish it.
OMG tests ASDFGHJKL//goes back to work.

Don't ask. I was writing my puzzle-ship fic when I suddenly wrote "Yami and Yuugi were puzzled" then laughed out loud at it. I needed to make something like this just because I thought it was funny. I'm probably the only person who think's it's funny though. /lolignoremeh! I honestly wanted them to do radiometricDATING at the bottom panel JUST because it would be so weird. But I decided to just have Yami spazzing about screaming DATE. I don't know. It's too hot here to think. Blame the heat.

Let's find a job ^_^

I really enjoyed drawing this as I've never drawn any of the characters from the series before and I've always thought Madoka's magical girl outfit was really cool. I think I might try drawing Mami or Sayaka next.

I must admit that I have mixed feelings about the series, I find it awesome and creepy at the same time.
