Plant Puffs
Plant Puffs are creatures that have animal ears and botanical tails. Their tails are unique in that they contain the seeds of their plant. Their tails become more and more plant-like depending on the stage they're in and if the plant is ready to seed. Their civilizations tend to flourish in an array of color and varieties. When they travel, if the conditions are right, their plants will bloom in their paths.

Oh well, hope they work.
The design for Scarlet reminds me a bit of those 'Cats vs Dogs' movies With all the specialized canine tech gear and stuff.

Part 2 of an art trade with

This shot was more difficult to find good colors for than it was to actually build. The darkened scene played with my color perception more than I'd like to admit. I found myself going back and re-cutting with different sheets several times over. For the first time, as well, I utilized a semi-transparent vellum sheet as a means to blend colors (this method was used for Totoro's belly)

Very happy with the outcome depicting this iconic shot from a beloved classic.

All cut from card-stock paper, and layered into a 12"x12" shadowbox frame.

Panna Cotta w/ jam and berries

Here's an alternate way of serving panna cotta. I had a bit left over after making the three serves with jelly for dessert so I popped the rest in a scalloped ramekin. I unmoulded it, then drizzled over a raspberry jam/juice mixture I threw together and heated to make a quick sauce. Then I piled a whole bunch of berries on top.

I have to admit to liking this version, taste-wise, the best. The raspberry jam is so tart, it really cuts through the richness of the panna cotta.

Bad habits

Zelda is my childhood and still remains one of my most favourite gaming franshise, which I still play very often. I loved Twilight princess (I bought a Wii just so I could play it xD) and I loved Midna! It was so much fun to draw her <3

Sacrifice - 3D ILLUSION SKETCH

Okay, you must have seen this float around facebook, including Senju Hashirama's page, Naruto Uzumaki's page etc. Im super happy to finally post this on dA.

About the Art:

This was a challenge for me. First off, let me be clear: EVERYTHING IS HAND DRAWN.
I first block out the perspective on a separate sheet of paper (usually my first rough) and keep adjusting and refining it until the blocky nature of it is perfect. Then I refine the blocks and add dimension to it, again by constantly adjusting via looking through the camera. This takes several hours, in this case it took me 3 days to get the rough sketch of it just right.
NOW, the camera is out of the way, and refining/shading begins. My camera does help at this stage as well.
THEN its time for setting up the lights. Graphite reflects and shines, so I am extra careful on the lighting. I want an even light for making the illusion better.

I cannot stress this enough, but make sure you watch anamorphic artists like nagai hideyuki and mohammed ejleh's videos on youtube to understand this better.
Also, there are so many easy ways to do this, but if its easy, whats the skill in it, and whats the fun???? I tend to stick to a combination of many methods.
Lastly, I have practiced for about 8-9 months so far to get here. Of course, there are ways which involve absolutely no skill at all to get here faster, but then again, whats the real fun in that? Practice makes perfect.

About the piece:

This is all drawn on 2 sheets of paper: one folded and the other lay flat on the ground. because of the odd nature of the perspective, it appears like a 3d figure. Everything was drawn with pencils and multiliners.

Style Experiment- Rarity and Twilight

A quick doodle of Twilight Sparkle and Rarity! I was a little surprised a couple of you asked about me ever incorporating traditional looks into the mane 6 based on their breed, sooooo.... here's a little somethin' for the unicorns, all cloven-hooved and lion-taily. C:

I'm going to do this for the rest of the mane 6, too, more for the hell of it than anything. I wanna experiment with what I can toy with in terms of appearance based on their breed, so this is gonna be a lot of fun! xD

As for this one, I really like this look for the unicorns. Something about the cloven hooves and lion-like tail is just so fun! I like this so much that I just may end up drawing more unicorns like this.... hmmm... o3o Either way, though, I've always had the headcanon that it was common for unicorns to have a lion-like tail and cloven hooves. Just like bat-winged pegasi, these characteristics aren't rare, and they are a recessive trait among the unicorns. Some unicorns can have just cloven hooves, some can just have lion-like tails, and some both. It all depends.
