Finally done!!!

Ok! About this drawing!xD This is Mew Ichigo and Masha from Tokyo Mew Mew ( the manga) or Mew Mew Power ( the anime in the US ). I just had to draw her! Not only because she's super cute and i always wanted to draw her digitally, but to show my respect. Tokyo Mew Mew was the first EVER manga series i ever collected and started me in collecting more manga! This series was a big inspiration for me!^w^

Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween a couple days ago!

A group of kids came over to our place and I gladly handed them a bunch of candy... XXD It's nice to see that the tradition still lives on in my suburb...

Anyway I haven't submitted anything for the past 6 days because I've been working hard on getting The Grand ASHWORTH Fortune exposed in the best possible way in the coming months.

So far I've completed 7 more pages to Book 2, making it 34 more pages to go before it is complete. ^^

The website is still under construction but it will soon be up for those eager to know more about the universe that is The Grand ASHWORTH Fortune.

Exciting times are coming my friends, I'm really thrilled to reveal what The Grand ASHWORTH truly is all about. The story is beyond what you have imagined already. = )

Enjoy this preview page while you can! There are only 6 or 7 more pages to go before I'll have to end it for Book 2.

Regarding the purchase of the book all the details will be disclosed when I update my journal entry on DA. Apparently my editor from LAC comics tells me that it'll be available sometime in November due to some significant changes to the pricing structure of the comic books being sold at LAC.

Yes that's right it's not $12.00AU anymore, the 60 page book I've made will cost $10.00AU. A little bit more affordable now ain't it? ^^

Anyway I'll save all the details later. For now I'm going to work on the next page and continue with the website after I come back from work tomorrow. Thanks again everyone for your support on the cartoon series! It's going to be a blast when all is revealed in the near future.

Her hairstyle, for one. I've had little practice drawing much beyond long, down hair, ponytails, buns, and short, spiky hair. Hairstyles in Fiji include a lot of braids, ringlets, short cuts and even shaved styles....so that part of her might take a while to change, simply because I need to learn to draw those styles confidently.

It feels (to me) that her skin came out a little TOO dark...but I'm never confident when it comes to first-draft skin tones, so we'll see.

She's wearing a halter-neck sulu (a modern garment from Fiji), with a sea-ripple pattern (a photoshop one). I'd like to eventually give her a tapa shawl and more authentic native patterns, but I'm still researching the finer points of Fijian culture.

There's a shark tooth tattoo band around her upper right arm. Believe it or not, reliable information on Polynesian tattoos and their meanings is very difficult to find. Meanings and designs varied greatly between all the island nations, AND between all the different tribes living in said nations.

The one website I found that had potential was, unfortunately, a pay-only site, asking $45 for the minimum sign up time (1 month). I love having well-researched characters, but NO. The tattoo may be a bit generic, but sharks are respected and feared, so a sharks tooth tattoo band is fitting.

Her later incarnations may have tattoos on her legs and feet, if I can find reliable research. Prior to colonization, it was very common for females to have tattooed lower halves - young girls had to be tattooed before they could be initiated as women.

I feel I should point out, here, that this Fiji was created and designed specifically for roleplay. More specifically, for one RP in particular - the Serious RP I keep mentioning in the ACs of any Kaldon art I post (with whom this Fiji is paired, on a personal - not political - level).

She was conceived three years ago, but has only been under serious construction for a few months. She's going to go through a lot of changes, so if you can word it nicely, I'd love to hear any constructive criticism you may have. ]]>

Scorpio and Orion (along with a few others I haven't drawn yet) are part of a series I plan on writing someday. It won't involve any of the regular Sailor Moon characters or anything, and will probably be set in American rather than Japan. I'll probably post parts of it if I ever get some written. I'll also put in character profiles when I get them done... all in good time...
