urgh. so many things went haywire with this picture i dont know where to begin. Firstly, i started out drawing gackpoid. How phail is that!! Next the background wasnt meant to be a sky (and ocean) but i admit i got lazy. *tugs at hair* it just looks like something i didnt start off to do.

This is for ~LemmieLem for winning #Musical-fans's latest contest! It was a really fun request, since I got to do pretty much whatever I wanted... Hope you like the result!

I saw PotO in London (review coming up! Also, it was fun noticing the man who played Monsieur André both times I've seen PotO was Bamatabois in TAC) and was reminded of how much I like it. Right after seeing it I was trying to be cool and was all "okay, I don't need to see that again in a while", but in reality I miss it already...
And Notes/Prima Donna is one of my favourite musical songs and scenes (do I smell another blog entry? Yes, I do). So, when given the task of "have fun!" with PotO as the subject, it was pretty obvious to go with it.

The Phantom of the Opera is not mine.
My Piangi is heavily influenced by this brilliant comic.

So, yesterday I got to see the brand new "Phantom of the Opera". I'm surprised that one way or another I had never seen the stage production or any of the movies before now... but as a first-exposure, this remake was -awesome-. I don't care what the critics say, I loved the staging, the reorchestrations, the scenery, everything. Admittedly, the Phantom himself wasn't as grotesque as he should have been - even I figured that much. You almost feel sorry for this musical genius... until you remember that he's a murderer and a stalker. So in the end, he's just sorta creepy. But that's what makes it all rock!

So, being the lame music geek that I am, and seeing as I can't draw people, here you go. *grin* He is crying because... he is sad. Poor guy. I tried to put eighth-notes in the moon, but it didn't work so much.

Drawn while listening to the 2004 soundtrack's "Overture". My god, that organ... I get massive shivers every single time I hear it.

I came up with this when I was listening to Ventus's Theme.

The picture seemed really dark before I put the piano and the music notes. I think I liked it before but this is cute(r) I think lol

To avoid any further accusations of theft (not on Shmeeden's part: she was simply concerned, and justly), let me just say that I would never, never knowingly steal another's idea and pass it off as my own. Speaking from personal experience, I know how awful it is when one's work is plagiarized, and it isn't in my character to condone or perpetuate such an act. Although I don't know most of you personally and the best estimations you have of my character come from my online interactions, I do hope you know those online interactions are genuine, and that I am not the sort of person to steal another's idea. I can understand being inspired by another artist, but outright theft is wrong: it is as simple as that.

That being said, my best estimation for what happened here is that this is a mixture of pure coincidence and subconscious influence. I saw Shmeeden's piece several months ago when she posted it, favorited it because it was wonderful, and left it at that. I can honestly say that her work wasn't on my mind when I did this. Subconsciously, it may have been, but I didn't even note the similarities and didn't even recall her strip until it was recently pointed out.

That being said, because posted "A Lesson" months before this, I credit her with the original idea. I apologize for any concern this may have sparked, but let me assure you, as vehemently as I can, that I did not, in any way, shape, or form, knowingly set out to copy and steal her work and pass it off as my own. As I mentioned, her comic had completely escaped my mind when I drew this one, and had I had the foresight to check if this idea had already been executed here on DA, I would not have posted this. The absolute last thing I want is for anyone to doubt my integrity, or to suspect or accuse me of plagiarism. It feels incredibly strange to even have to address concerns that I've stolen artwork. It's just so not me.

I worked like a dawg on this here thang. I no longer have Photoshop, so I had to make due with piecing this together in Preview on my Mac. Which took forever and gave me a headache and gas.

ANYway, I've been thinking about Erik and Christine (gee, that's new) and how exactly their music lessons would go down. We don't really hear too much about the specifics because Christine is always disappearing behind her mirror or pulling Erik's mask off and making him cry for seven hours for any real teaching to go on.

Now, I'm sorry, but as brilliant and talented as Erik is, he would be THE most frustrating vocal instructor EVER because any little mistake would set him off. Patience isn't exactly his favorite. Plus, he just likes to yell and rant throughout the day, anyway, so top a tired soprano with the world's biggest perfectionist, and you get this.

As for Christine, she'd have to get fed up with Erik's constant, "Stop!" "No!" "Vibrato, I say, vibrato!" and pop eventually. I like to picture Christine much feistier than she is portrayed in the books, mostly because imagining her tiny little self yelling at crazy tall Erik with her hands on her hips is hilarious.

Also, regarding this comic, NO, I do not mean to insinuate that they abandoned propriety right there on the floor. They kissed, fell, and kissed some more. The end. PG, PEOPLE. WE'RE KEEPING IT PG.

Except for Erik's potty mouth. Geez, Erik, way to up the rating.

Shadow Music

PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO COMMENT! I LOVE TO KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!!

When I first sketched this pic I was aiming for a light-on-her-feet pose, with lots of colors in the digital part that would give it a hot, jazzy feel.
But once I got down to it, CeeCee's mild colors ended up making the pic a lot more somber, which then triggered the dark background that you see here.
The musical notes were drawn in dark colors to give just a subtle detail, not to really appear in the pic, just as the I went for a soft light that would give a spotlight feel, though faint. The ground at her feet was definitely lighter at first, but once I started applying the filters it faded 'till it almost fades into the background.
Instead of the usual tri-tone coloring I use, I used instead the same tri-tone scheme, but with three aditional layers:
*Golden Light (Airbrush set on Multiply)
*Gradient Shading (Cell shading layer copied and then blurred with a watercolor brush)
*Darker Shadows (Airbrush set on Multiply again, but with the same color as the original cell shading)
That gave the pic a more detailed look, as well as made it farther from my usual carton-style to it. I finished it with a texturized layer and then a gradient one, going from cian to black.

Overall, it took me quite some time to finish it, though I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Since the outline had such a different vibe to it, I'll probably post some of my latest linearts in a bundle wich will then be scrapped, just in case anyone wants to color it/just look at the original idea.

The drawing depicts my version of anime to this passage: Illustrates Butch using their power "Music" to recall the Belladonna is your true identity. Ace in the background, looks scared to attempt Butch to end with his band.

Entangled In Music

Finally done.

This picture came into being out of my urge to draw Miku, about 2 and a half months ago. The concept - "entangled in music" - was already clear at that time. Sketched it on paper, scanned it, and then worked on it bit by bit.
Despite it being a piece of fanart, it's still something quite personal to me. The 8 melodies on here were all chosen by me . they're 8 of my favourite tunes/pieces for the cello :3 I wonder if anyone will recognize any of them... I doubt it though. XD I'll post YouTube links to most of them quite soon.

I'm quite fond of how this turned out~ I was fearing it would be too busy with the BG and the notes and such, but... I think it's ok that way~ Also very fond of the colouring in general, and... and the way I drew Miku's skirt. XD Hell, I never imagined her outfit would be this hard to draw, with all those details. :0 I'm happy though that I managed to draw nearly all of them~ But fffff Miku's hair nearly killed me, when I tried to outline it. D| Glad it turned out pretty well~

I'm probably going to upload the original size picture, as well as the picture without the musical scores somewhere... >v< Or the detail shots in a seperate dev, Iunno yet. But not now, now I'm tired and need to go to bed. |D;;;;;

Out of wubs and notes

I was hoping my next pony submission would be the next episode title card i had been working hard on in-between paid jobs but i have been sick for the last three days and i just did not have the patience to complete it which sucks (it was a season 3 one as well) but maybe i can still get it done before the end of the week have to see if times on my side.

I was bored a lot when i was so when i had psychical strength to hold my tablet i drew a lot of pony sketches and quite liked this one i did of Vinyl and Octavia looking in to space working on their craft. Originally i wanted to leave it as a cute sketch until i saw the recent funny animation Vinyl and Neon and an adorable SFM pony video of Octavia .

I think next to Mrs Rarity i like the paring of these two and the personalities the fandom has created for them both . I would like to draw more popular background characters in the future, as they never get much love from me.

i heard about this news much later than most because i'm pretty lame. i'd be a fool to think i'm the first one who's drawn a picture mocking the high school musical poster. this version was drawn before mine, but i didn't know that until after my version was posted. i actually like hers a lot better.

YOU GUYS DON'T KNOW THE HARDSHIP this artwork brought upon me. Dx Like, I must be cursed making this or something. Dx It took me two months to finish this, on and off, and then I got to finish it a couple of days ago, a few hours after the contest ended. T.T And so I didn't scan it at all because I thought I didn't have a chance anymore. And then I was told that I can still submit it, so I tried to, when my scanner went weird on me and scanned the artwork piece by piece. I tinkered with the scanner for two straight hours before deciding that I'll just piece together all those parts. T.T

Like a puzzle. IT took me another 2 hours, which consisted of rescanning and cropping and adjusting each piece. ;_; And so, here it is, with still some parts weird and disconnected. LIKE, NOTE THE STRING MAN, THE STRING. XD THE HALO. THE CLOUDS. DX They aren't connected at all!

I'll rescan this sometime when I get hold of a better scanner, so hopefully, forgives me for bad editing. I REALLY TELL YOU. The scanning does not do justice for my two-month work at all. That, and all the corners are cropped (I PUT DETAIL ON THE SIDES AND THE TOP AND THE BOTTOM! DX) , because the artwork is big and I hate scanning parts and parts again. DDDX *frustrated* Dx

EDIT: XD I didn't get hold of a scanner so I borrowed my roommate's camera. T.T I think it looks better now than that patched up version....>.>;

Yeah, I'm still being a busy girl that does less on school and more on art...

The only problem I've been stuck with for a year long... is the ideas..

other characters I want to show you all.
But it takes hours of time for references... I'm glad people don't beg for my art...
But I've been wondering this... do I really have people interested in my art?
I know you are but just... some comics have been watched more then...
Then the main truth beginning comics of Susan Adventure COMIC

I've even learned a very hard comics style that is faster done then screentoning...
But I only screentone with very special and NOT action comics...
It's kinda Contrast Ink. It's more difficult then screentoning I've notice by myself...
You then must have the abbility to balance black with white ALLOT!

Ooh well, I'm still stuck in my projects I want to finish, start or work further with.
I have many things to show you all but...
I have soo short time that I bother about it...
I need some tips for putting some NOT soo important projects away...
I just have allot of ideas ya know...

Music dress me up

I know, I know... I wasn't supposed to post new work until the end of January but it's not totally a new work since I started it... 3 month ago I think.

So well, i didn't though I will finish it since at first it was just a test for fun when I started it... but I was looking into my psd files and I see it... and I say why not.

I was supposed to be an akuroku pic (that why Axel look to the side... Roxas was supposed to be where he was looking) but I was too lazy to finish Roxas plus I didn't like his face at all... so I erased him (yeah i'm cruel like that >: D ... hum )

Basically it take me... 1 hours to finish it.

I just played with axel clothes and the background with the help of brushes and textures... and i'm quite happy with the result X3

And yes... it seem that Axel have stole Demyx hoodie XD

I put music note because I love the idea of Axel associated with music and also because I didn't want to draw the fire"cliché" clothes (though I don't mind see it XD )

gray color notes

If there's one scene from D.Gray-Man to remember, for me somehow it's Allen and a piano ^_^;;;

A different try to reflect how Hoshino-sensei color. It was kind of...orz not sure how to say it but it gives a surreal feeling. It was an interesting color scheme, kind of weird for me haha.
Allen has been very sad lately._{...I'm a Lavi fan but I draw more Allen >.>}

The piano is inspired by the Schimmel Pegasus I stumbled upon google. I'm not much a music person but that was one sexy piano O_O "...able to play like a Sci-Fi God's" lol!
The real thing is much much more gorgeous tho ^^ If I can play I'd love one

I find that sad actually.
I KNOW you never see adults in the show.
I KNOW THAT.
But still, it seems like his parents would be off and about all the time, leaving him with the sticky notes that tell him to do chores no less. > 3>

I want to draw a sequel to this actually.
Something happier. :>

But anyway, I was experimenting with coloring.

Fourth out of five chibi requests for She wanted Prussia playing the violin and Austria playing the piano (isn't it just epic? xD I think it would be a cool detail to Prussia's character).

Austria's, Hungary's and Italy's clothes were based on illustrations from my book about Austria-Hungary. Prussia's clothes are a random mix of different Prussian clothes I managed to find : D" (Italy wears boy clothes because Mendelssohn was born in 1809 so he had to be pretty grown up already).

Also, Mendelssohn's concerto they're playing [link] (just obviously without strings).
Music notes in this comic are completely random and I know about it (I actually finished music school lol. But I hated it, so anyway).

Also, I find Austria an incredibly hilarious character. I mean, it's a guy who wears glasses just because it makes him look cooler

This would've been done so much sooner if piano wasn't that darn hard to draw >_< Even after redrawing it bazillion times it still looks weird *sigh* Plus, looking after my two lil cousins made it extra difficult. So, sorry for the wait, Kitty But I'm just happy I managed to finish it before my trip ^_^
The reason why it's a short comic instead of one picture is that I wasn't satisfied with how only one picture looked.( It's actually more like a simple scene that a comic, since it has no plot |D").

A sort of late Valentines submit! The idea came from when my [former?] Waifu and I wanted to cosplay as Touko and Touya for AX11, but she wouldn't let me borrow her jacket and threaten to punch my chest. -w-;

So I thought it would be cute if I drew Touko wearing Touya's jacket. The original idea was suppose to be of Touko sending a postcard to Touya with a picture of herself wearing it.

But due to something that I don't want to talk about at the moment, I ended up not going with the idea. Here was the start of it. I wasn't even going to finish it. I was going to just leave it deserted:

But when I was showing the picture to my friends as they comfort me, they said it was really cute. As I stare at it, I thought it would be a waste, since it was nearly done. Plus, I had to do something to keep my mind off -someone.-

Anyway~ This is my first digital Fanart.
I also tested a new shading style and I am really proud of the outcome.
I had a lot of fun and hopefully will draw more of Touko.
Who knew a broken heart could be inspiration? Heh.

*Little AT ~~lame~~ joke in the title, from the 1st season ;3*

A very special Kuroshitsuji Time! submission One that I finished ahead of some of my other sketches that Ive had done for weeks that still arent colored yet. The reason?

Its Contest Time!

Yup, this Lady had to step up to the challenge over at Theyre doing a show swap as the basis to the contest theme, so I wanted to have at least one submission of the Funtom Prince to go witha.

Some of you Black Butler anime fans might recognize where this image originates from; I love the ending sequence from the first season (Im a sucker for chibi anything ). So, I ended up referencing that for this. Its always a pleasure to draw Ciel, and I was tickled by Peppermint Butler Sebastian; that expression of his is so serene. ~~Candy or not, sexy tutor Sebastian is sexy!!~~

Now, this contest goes for a while longer, and Ive got 2 more entries for it that Ill be finishing shortly (yup, guilty Im a Ciel fan girl ). One will feature something more Ive drawn/written, and the other is more in my customary element. Plushies galore this week!!
