Enhanced Senses - Visual acuity equal to an eagle at all times. When actively using her powers she has the ability to zoom in approximately 500 times.
Enhanced Senses – Hearing, Smell, and Taste. These senses are at or just above the normal range of human senses.
Enhanced Senses – Mystical sensitivity. She can sense mystical and magical forces and events to various degrees. Detailed information is relayed to her via her spirit guide, the Thunderbird Spirit. The information imparted is often cryptic, to say the least.

Environmental Resistance – When actively using her powers, she is immune to naturally occurring extremes of cold, heat, or altitude. This ability reaches to the edge of the Earth’s atmosphere but not beyond it. She cannot fly or survive in space unassisted.

Accelerated Healing – She heals at approximately three times the normal rate. She is immune to naturally occurring poisons and pathogens. *Since joining with the Thunderbird Spirit, her body appears to be 20 years younger. She ages at approximately one third the normal rate.*

Wings – She can manifest wings made of pure mystical energy. Their exact size and shape is variable. Besides granting her the power of flight, they can be used for attacks and defense. The edges of the wings can cut through armor plate and hurt invulnerable beings/creatures. If the target’s invulnerability comes from magical sources it is most resistant. Organic invulnerability provides less protection. The wings have been used by her to block projectile and energy weapons.

Weather Control – She can manipulate weather patterns in the local area. The area of effect depends on the amount of time and concentration she can put into the effort.

Lightning control – Thunderbird can summon and direct lightning. She is immune to its effects. She can absorb lightning and store it for use later. She is highly resistant to electrical based attacks.

Spiritual Guide – Elizabeth’s consciousness has been linked to the Thunderbird Spirit. The ancient Native American spirit serves as a mentor, companion, guide, and trainer. The force of the Spirit’s psychic bond provides enhanced resistance to mind control and psychic attacks.

Background: Elizabeth was born a member of the Chiricahua Apache tribe. She grew upon the tribe’s Arizona reservation before joining the Air Force. She applied to and was accepted into the Special Forces branch as a para-rescueman. She served with distinction in the European and Middle Eastern campaigns. After four terms of enlistment she left the service and went to work for the Drug Enforcement Agency in her home state of Arizona. She served for several years and became a highly decorated agent. Unfortunately, she was betrayed by a corrupt agent who was on the payroll of the drug cartels. He led her into an ambush in the desert where she was shot and left for dead. She crawled through the desert for two days and nights before she was found by one of her tribe’s shamans. He gathered other shamans and medicine men to perform a healing ritual to try to save her life. During the ritual the medicine men managed to summon the Great Thunderbird Spirit. The Spirit offered to save her life if she agreed to be its avatar in the fight against evil. She agreed and the heroine Thunderbird was born. Leaving the DEA, she joined the National Security Enforcement Agency. The NSEA was a law enforcement agency that had a large number of super-powered or meta-human operatives. Teaming with the heroine Mako, she was assigned to the Angel Falls region under the command of Regional Director Yumiko Park. She has been ordered to join the new superhero group suggested by Lone Stranger and Stranger Industries. She is to act as a liaison between the group and federal authorities. ]]>

She looks long but she's actually about the same size as the original. I decided to make her look more like a missile in 'rocket' mode and to fiddle with the landing gear so that it didn't come out of the wings. Never thought that was particularly sensible...

Everything else was just streamlining. I would have made some of the rear thrusters rotatable 'VTOL' engines, like the movie version, but I didn't think of it in time and I rather like the way it looks anyway.

Was only stopped when in a mistake fell into the water, causing a short circuit and killing him (until he's dry again lol)
His body is stored in a plastic chamber.

In his phisic mode he has electric powers but haven't the sufficient amperage to even kill a human.

Let's face it, TB 2 was the reason for tuning into Thunderbirds, apart from the disaster of the week. You were just waiting for the jolly green giant to swoop in and deploy its pod, disgorging a fantastic machine that just happened to be exactly what was needed to efect the rescue.

I haven't changed much, mainly because I love the original too much (oh, the hours spent playing with the matchbox toy...). But it needed bigger wings and engines, to make it look as heavy-duty as it's meant to be. Oh, and I took a page out of the movie design's book and added retractable landing gear to the lifting body as well as the pod. (Let's not get started on the sacrilige of getting rid of the pod for said and aforementioned film...)

And there one particular description “his cutie mark is a dove for his gentle and friendly nature” which catch my eye. Simple design easy enough to imagine within FIM universe... So I decided to draw him as much as I imagined upon that single description...

On image itself I sort of failed from the beginning... And also kinda made too much light sources so shading definitely not best...

Plus to make it even double failure... I made a pre-story to the image... Yeah (feel free to laugh at my horrid attempt).

<sub>… it was beautiful night, quiet and calm – it feels almost like nature itself hold it breath and gaze into the night palate and its wonders. In that night Royalwind couldn't just sit by and watch it – pegasus nature took over him and he spread his wings and flew into the night sky imagining that he could touch the stars.

Who know how much time have past while he was soaring high above grounds, but soon enough he found himself at the edge of the Everfree forest. Group storm cloud got his attention – they slowly moved towards the village and certainly could have ruined such a wonderful night, besides pegasus did not planned any storms until next Thursday afternoon. So it was up to him to change their course and move them back to the Everfee forest. A bit reluctantly, since everypony know the notoriety of those woods, he flew towards those clouds and buck one of them, with sound of muffled cracking and small lightnings on it, almost like cloud was alive and got upset of young Royalwind act, it flew back towards the forest. Strange, almost alien, tweeting sound has come from the next cloud. Intrigued to find what creature could sound like that, pegasus landed on it and looked around. Little blue bird by the size little less then his head and with lightnings sparks rhythmically emanating from its feathers was sitting on the other end of it. Royalwind instantly recall the Buffalo stories about Thunderbirds a huge avians who brings rains and storms. “But they almost twice the size of Buffalo” - was his thoughts, “it must be just a hatchling then”.

Bird calmly observed it unexpected guest on the cloud... Pegasus slowly came closer took on his hinderlegs and extended one of his forelegs towards the bird. Either out of curiosity or of no having any fear little hatchling flew right on it and continue to gaze into the eyes of winged equine. Somehow having nothing to say and rather surprised by a brave bird act Royalwind smile. Little avian open it beak in attempt to copy it. In hope bird will copy him again pegasus spread his wings.

Thunderbird closed eyes in happy fashion and spread his wings in return...</sub>

Seeing this mode more like a weakness than an advantage a new mody was created for the Malware mode, fisically separating both then the Softwere one was rejected.
After de sublevation of his more violent twin he was restored to its funcions.

Notes: He can switch between a phisic mode with a solid armor who has the height of any other Decepticon or an electric mode, in wich he can surf throught the Internet or in the electric web (or the circuits of any machine)
In his phisic mode he has electric powers but haven't the sufficient amperage to even kill a human.
He's very bad in melee fighting.

On the other side of the planet the MetaWatch commander swallowed his gum. "What's the feed?"

"International Space Station, external cameras. They caught 074267, Thunderbird. She seems to have been pulled into orbit where she immediately started to freeze up and suffocate and then the feed was lost. Our tap on nearby 000395, a Russian spy satellite, caught the station... explode."

The MetaWatch commander swallowed his new stick of gum, but didn't care as he narrowed his eyes and stared hard at his mic wishing for once that he could actually see one, just one, of the team members he commanded.

"But still, level A?"

AF paused before continuing, "The satellite also caught who was responsible. It was 000001, David Blake."

Electric silence.

"Sir, sir?"

Thus, introducing Thunderbird 1, or TB1, International Rescue's Hypersonic, Hyper-cool, Swing-Wing Superplane! This badass machine can reach any place on earth within an hour, thanks to it's Nuclear Thermal Engine that allows it to reach speeds of Mach 22, saving people from burning oil rigs, out-of-control airliners, rampant and ridiculous use of atomic energy and that poor kitty stuck on the tree, all in the nick of time.


Don't get me wrong, I love this show. Even the puppets. Especially the puppets.

I should have started with TB5 though, and do the epic countdown....
But alas. TB1 is and always be my favourite.

I have a confession to make. I think I've fallen in love with the gimbaled engine design of TB1 in the horrible, horrible 2004 movie.(The scene where TB1 dances around TB2 melted my heart)

Thanks to that, I feel like doing a hybrid TB1 with elements of that lovely engine design. (This is so blasphemous)

TB2 on the other hand...dear lord, KILL IT WITH FIRE.


Honestly, I would praise the art direction of said movie, (except whoever did the redesign of TB2, who deserves flogging). I have a fancying for the TB4 redesign too, maybe because the original looked a little...kitbashed-y.

Also, Lady P is super cute. RAWR. ]]>
