to make the world a better place.
2010 years later, that same birthplace
is plagued by a regime that practices
the exact opposite of those ideals.
Bethlehem is surrounded by a racist wall
of biblical proportions,

Yet people celebrate.

But that is OK.
The people of Palestine also celebrate.
They need to, as any other people

After all it is the season to make exceptions.

How the Israelis' ethnic cleansing of a people and the destruction of a society - the Nakba - was met with global indifference.
Many factors made it so, but among them was a Zionist propaganda machine that illustrated the crime committed in Palestine in 1948
as a war of independence against aggressive Arabs and Palestinians.

It is true that the Palestinians and the rest of the Arab people resisted the establishment of a racist regime in Palestine.
And they still do. It is only normal.
If anyone comprehends the extent of the injustice that has been committed against the Palestinian people,
they would not even ask why they are so determined in their pursuit of justice.
And if anyone knows the history of the Palestinian struggle, they would realize that this people will continue to resist
in every form until they see the justice they have so longed for restored.

On 15 May 2011, the world is invited to express its understanding, solidarity and support to a people that has resisted...
and continues to do so, for Justice in Palestine.

coupled with mass lies and distortion campaign.

In Palestine today, this is merely one layer of the issue.
The Israeli regime has convinced itself not only that it can get the Palestinian people to surrender,
forget and let go, but also that the whole world should be supporting its racist policies and actually help it achieve its goals.
Everyone else in the world, who has not fallen prey to the Israeli PR campaigns,
do not doubt the inevitable outcome of the struggle of the Palestinians: justice and equality.

under occupation and oppression, deprived of their basic rights.
But it is real peace that the Palestinians seek, in contrast to the false peace that is being sought at the expense of justice.

As if humanity haven't learned from the millions killed due to the lack of justice.
One would think it would have been obvious by now that there is no peace without justice,
and that no people will accept to lie down and accept injustice upon their children.
Palestine is no exception.
Let there be one or a hundred peace processes.
Let there be one or a hundred alternative remedies.
Real peace will only prevail when justice does.

When the United Nations, in 1977, proclaimed 29 November of each year as the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, it was a clear admission of guilt towards this people. It was recognition that the Palestinian people deserve international solidarity and support, in the name of justice and rights. This was merely one small event in a long story.

The story of Palestine and its people is one that will go down in history. In fact it has already started to do just that. One might say that the victor is the one that writes history. The victor in this case will inevitably be justice, and justice is at the core of the Palestinian struggle against apartheid, colonialism and oppression. And as in every episode in history, everyone will be mentioned according to their positions, and more importantly their deeds with respect to each story.

In the day of solidarity, let us remember that.

Palestinian Children in the Israeli Military Detention System contains images of children who found the courage to talk about the appalling treatment.

For example, 14-year-old Ala tells how he was handcuffed and blindfolded during his arrest.
"They [Israeli soldiers] put me in the jeep and transferred me to Etzion interrogation center.
The interrogator told me to say goodbye to my friend Muhannad, because he was going to throw me from the third floor.
No one was there to protect me. No one was with me. I was alone."

Storyline:

Sebastian Tirtirau, a man who grew up in communist Romania, went through a horrible experience which was generated by his brother fleeing the country. That was unacceptable at that time and Sebastian got imprisoned at a disciplinary battalion, as a political prisoner.

Long story short, he was beaten, starved and weighed 40 kilos when he got out, after a violent incident in which he got severely brutalized. He was commited into a mental institution - apart from his body, his mind was severely broken.

While he was recovering, the thought of helping people who cannot help themselves came to him, much because of the hopeless situation he had found himself into.

He recovered well, and had ever since done humanitarian work for remote tribes from all over the globe. Inuit of the Arctic region, San of the Kalahari, Kandoshi of the Amazon, and the list goes on.

This is the story of how those people can be helped through non-invasive, non-intrusive ways, without destroying their culture and customs. Sebastian focuses ONLY on tribes that have already been contacted and influenced by the white people, and what he's trying to do, is fix what problems came up during the previous two ways of contact between the two civilizations. Sebastian considers that the previous two ways were, either invasive, through raw force and colonization, or, as a consequence, through abandonment, "because we must let them be!" (but nobody repairs the damage that's already been done). Our documentary shows what Sebastian offers to be the best way of contacting remote tribes - asking them what they want from the white man.

The team is a young and enthusiastic one, and this whole project has been funded by private sponsors, so it's not a corporate thing, it's really done through much passion and dedication.

Welcome to the "finishing funds" Kickstarter campaign for the second season of "A Fool's Idea", the documentary web-series about comedy, performance, life & clown.

The concept is simple: We are interested in exploring this crazy, powerful and historically amazing art form called "clown" and its practitioners. We also thought that there might be a few other people in the universe curious about what these amazing artists have to say, so we decided to find individuals who have dedicated their lives to the art of clowning and ask them questions about topics other creative people might be interested in.

Each episode (with the exception of a few specials) is focused around one thesis question. Once asked, each artist responds with his or her educated perspective on the matter. You might not agree with everyone, but doesn't that make the conversation more exciting? Our goal is not to define concrete answers to each question, but rather to build a dialogue about creativity, performance, life experience, comedy and process.

This project is about more then just a web-series; it is about building community, collaboration and support for the performing arts all around the world. It's about reconnecting with historical artistic traditions and discovering something new about yourself and the world in the process.

Everyone loves a clown whether they know it or not; however, the word "clown" has been bastardized in modern culture to the point where many people no longer remember its historical relevance or what it even is! The thoughts generated with the word "clown" are often negative in tone and associated with horror movies, serial killers and fast food. This is culturally and creatively irresponsible.

What most people have forgotten is that the clown has historically been a significant figure in almost every culture since the creation of fire. From the shamanic fools of ancient Native American cultures to the court jesters of the middle ages, clowns have always been there to remind us of our stupidity. When people spiral out of control, it's up to the clowns to bring us back down to Earth. In its purest form, the clown is the greatest communicator in the world, able to transcend language and connect to an audience without words.

Before there was sound in film, it was clowns that ruled the big screen, from Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin, to Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy and W. C. Fields. Even as audio exploded on screen, the clown community still dominated with the likes of the Marx Brothers, Jackie Gleason and Red Skelton. The broad comedy of these early clowns was enjoyed and accessible beyond just an English speaking audience, thus creating connections of shared experience across cultural, social and language barriers. Over the years, comedy has become more culturally exclusive and based in intellect, so that it can no longer easily bridge cultural divides. Most modern comedians have a difficult time communicating culture-specific language-based jokes to an audience from a different nation. This kind of dysfunctional communication is well documented in films like Albert Brooks' "Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World" and Philip Rosenthal's "Exporting Raymond". However, just like the golden years of silent film comedy, clown-based experiences such as "Slava's Snowshow" and the many incarnations of Cirque du Soleil have had the ability to play all over the world and appeal to a broad audience, regardless of cultural background.

In a nutshell, the core concepts of what the world knows as comedy owes everything it is, was, and will ever be to the clown. The clown is our most basic human instincts, our worst fears and our greatest moments of joy. The essence of clown has nothing to do with makeup, oversized shoes and polka-dotted pajamas, although these elements help the performer exaggerate their character in different creative and fantastical ways. The essence of a clown has everything to do with the discovery of innocence, honesty, humanity and communication in the creative space.

Classes were held at a place called the Rogue's Den in Claymont, DE. They lasted for over a year. The classes were so popular that we were invited to the Pennsylvania Ren Faire to draw the knights in action.

The Model in this video is Ce-Ce as a shield Maiden and the Students are Jeff, Vinny & Liz. I'm th guy all the way to the left in the last photo.

This year's convention will be the first time I have manned a table in the artist's alley, filled a large bay full of art, and generally made it a serious business matter instead of a hobby. I thought it might be interesting to document my progress as an artist attempting to start their own business and to experience the wonderful wide world of art fairs and conventions. Maybe we can learn a little something together?
