So yeah, this is my first flash animation using Macromedia Flash 8 Pro! Hope y'all like!! I actually can't believe I got this done in time before our flight to Brunei! We just got back from the Philippines last week too... I had to do it though! I couldn't wait! Your love, encouragement, and sheer awesomeness is just to darn motivating!!

If any of y'all are interested, I can post a quick written tutorial of an easy way I learned to animate. It is pretty basic now but I am still learning.

I was inspired to make this short animation after some of the comments I received on "She's Just Being Pinkie Pie" Lot's of people were saying they would be really excited if Pinkie Pie popped out of their computer monitor! I got to thinking, and, to be honest, that would scare the crap out of me! ( I'd get over it soon enough though, and then... PARTY TIME!!!! )

So as y'all may know, My brother and I collaborated from opposite sides of the world via skype and 4 shared to bring you this new glich/electro song! Hope you like!

Heh, sorry for trolling guys, but in my defense, that's kinda what the "licious" videos are all about... Don't worry, there will be an official "Applelicious" soon enough.

Howdy Everypony! ^^

Here's my very first official animation to come out of my training here at the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD). Being a fan of the new "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" series, I decided to create a puppet of Pinkie Pie (my favorite pony) in Flash and animate her in a little short.

This was originally created as a three-part assignment for my "2D Character I" class here at SCAD.

This took me 130 hours from start to finish (40 hours to build the puppet, 80 hours to animate it, and 10 hours for post-production editing).

Well guys, I’m almost home! (Or, almost back in Japan anyway.) I am uploading this out of a bar in Singapore. Only one more port before this portion of CARAT is over!

The first slate translates to: Friendship is magic, Chapter 25, Party of One. :troll: Interesting thing to note is that the word Magic in Kanji can be directly translated as demonic arts(魔法). So....Friendship is demonic?

The pink haired white pony near the end is young Celestia, I set it as though she sacrificed her immortality to "help" Twilight as does the anime with Hanyu. I decided to do this crossover after seeing Cupcakes as both deal with torture and death. There are also a couple more similarities I found between Higurashi no naku koro ni and MLP which also made me do this crossover are:

1. both having seemingly cute and adorable style at first glance, but something awesome and mind-blowing that doesn't conform to the initial style lies underneath.

2. the duo personalities some of the characters displays.

3. Twilight and Rika both have purple hued hair and possess some sort of time/ dimension traveling magic and a long-time friend to a Goddess.

4. Pinkie and Rena have extremely excitable personality but snaps at a moment's notice if pushed to the edge.

5. Fluttershy and Shion are quiet and meek normally but turns into a yandere in situations.

6. AppleJack and Mion are tomboyish in nature but still has a feminine side. Tsundere~

7. Rainbow Dash and Keiichi, well, they are the victim in the anime and Cupcakes

This is what I envisioned when I thought of My Little Pony, Friendship is Magic and Spazzmatica Polka. Basically, it's one and a half minute of showing off the "walk"-cycles I did of the main cast, which in turn was my way of reverse engineering the animation from the show. Not a whole lot else to tell about this, except that you can watch this in glorious 1080p. That's right, you can watch this at a native resolution higher than that of the show's episodes you can see on YouTube.

For those of you who have been asking about the programs I use to animate:

For the hundredth time I don't animate the ponies, I video tape them! Honestly, why can't anyone remember that?!

Still, if I were to try and animate ponies, I think the animation software I'd use would probably be Macromedia Flash 8 Pro...
I'd also probably build the puppets in the same program, but draw the backgrounds in Inkscape since it's much more user friendly than flash when it comes to drawing multi-layered images. At least that's what I've been told...
Honestly I don't know though... I've never touched a computer in my life. Spike has been my stenographer most of the time, but I never read what he's writing cause I don't REALLY? I COULD HAVE BEEN WRITING WHATEVER I WANTED TO THIS WHOLE TIME? WOW! UMM... HEY EVERYPONY!! HOW YOU GUYS DOIN?! HEY, JUST SO YOU KNOW, SPIKE IS REALLY AWESOME!! TELL THAT TO ALL YOUR DRAGON FRIENDS OK?!

My next project will probably be finishing that remix of "Proud to be a Brony."

I've wanted to animate something with Luna involving Daylight's End the moment I heard it. This was my first time working so heavily with After Effects. The end result not only produced one of my favorite works to date, but also (with help from HC, one of our top vector and effects artists) granted me a lot of experience with After Effects, and Illustrator.
Snowdrop is still underway, and can be expected to have similar levels of visual aesthetic.

Hey there! So this is a time-lapse of my screen as I was working on the "St-01" scene. I was planing on taking home a studio mic for the weekend so I could record some tutorials, but as luck would have it, someone else needed it. So here is what I was going to voice over, I will try to annotate this as best as possible. So consider this the pre-tuturial for now.

I will try to grab the mic on monday and hopefully record it over the week.

Made all in Flash and Photoshop using the Wacom Intuos4 (Cintiq preferred). Drew rough initial camera staging and layout, finalized with brush/pen.

Total production time from first sketching to finalized video ~33 minutes. At this rate I could make a full episode in about 8 days (If I worked straight thought the night).

When I uploaded my showreel last week I feelt it lacked character driven animation. Something I really wanna work with more. And I found this "Dizzy do" or "Derpy" fanmade character from My little pony: friendship is magic. So I thought would be fun to animate her.

It's drawn in Sketchbook pro and then rigged and animated entierly in after effects. I used "duik tools" for her legs, an inverse skinmatic addon that I recommend deeply.

I've wanted to try singing something properly for a while now, especially since I got into Friendship is Magic. Well, don't expect your ears to be lovingly caressed here.... This is the first time I've ever recorded myself singing, and the 6+ hours of takes it took to get these 2 minutes of vocals proves how bad I am. Don't think of this as a song, but rather a practical example of the modified lyrics.

My inexperience aside, I'd also like to apologise for the audio quality, as it was recorded on a simple webcam and sadly glitches in a couple of parts. Ironically it crackles when I make too much noise, which is the opposite problem I have, as I can't sing 'properly' because I live in a shared house and don't want to be heard. So a lot of the badness comes from my limited volume...

I hope I did a decent job of the two voices. I was never trying to imitate Shining Armor's voice, but rather make the contrast obvious (and it's hard to not sing high when it's a female lead song). Hopefully you'll like the variant lyrics too.

So, please let me know how you think I could improve my singing/voice acting - like I said, it was my first try, so don't be 'too' critical, I know I'm not good. Also, I'm willing to hear any suggestions of what to do next. If this video is well received, I'll follow it up with the Reprise verse as a thank you!

So apologies for the lack of updates in between my work on this and everything else for school. Ill be making use of this as part of the final project as well, though the final project will be an entire scene. The current plan is to finish all linework and pencils for the full animation.
