The Purr Polaris Star

In a galaxy far away...

...there are more stars. Well in our own galaxy, just one a few solar systems away from us, lays the Purr Polaris Star.
In the science of astronomy not every star out there has to have planets orbiting it. Sometimes they are found just floating in space and looking pretty. Which is the case here; the Purr Polaris star sits in front of it's stary backdrop and just shines brightly hoping that one day a rogue planet will become it's friend.

Tech Details: 7 or 8 hrs - Adobe After Effects.

Three simple elements make up this piece: A lens flare, Particle simulator, and a glow effect.

This is a quick part of a mock trailer I'm doing for a party thread over at Y!forum. Polaris is a collab comic thingy that is open for anyone to join, so if you want more info just ask ^^
This is sinfulshinrai's (Resa) character Verse, and he is saying "lightning" (yes lightning is red stfu XD)
when it loops it looks silly, but I hate when you have to refresh something to see it again... and I forgot how to make buttons OTL

EDIT*******
I have now added a bit more. It is my character Aki fighting with a sword. ^^
oh and... they aren't fighting each other (verse would kick aki's ass). I just put the two scenes together.

HELLO!!!
The reason I've been absent in for quite long time is because I've been developing this game! (one of my big flash projects)
..and it's now done! Yay!

I've got the idea of making dating sim from long time ago but it can only be achieved now because I was so inspired by . She's awesome!! totally!! I love her games ^____^!

I just found her around 3 months ago.. and suddenly I want to create a dating sim like hers too.
I know she's so awesome and please don't compare my work I know mine is nothing! XD

But I really do enjoy making flash games (this is the second after DR INVESTIGATOR CROSSOVER game).
I plan to make more original projects soon (more dating sim or other kind of games) so I hope you like this one..

PS: When I asked my sis to check my game, she said, the story is so similar with an old famous film, fly me to polaris.. that the protagonist get another life chance. I've heard it long time ago but really I never watch it at all LOL. So please don't get mad on me because it's similar because it's pure a coincidence .

The second important thing I want to mention is that a few months ago, I managed to get to the Alexander McQueen exhibit at the Met, and was utterly stunned and wowed anew by his incredible talent, creativity, and dexterity. Therefore, all the costumes in this round are based on McQueen fashion - specifically, McQueen fashion I saw at the exhibit. I very sneakfully brought my sketchbook in, but I'm going to get myself the companion book to the exhibit, so I don't feel too guilty.

yeah....... I sketched this silly little comic in my notebook earlier. It was a bit longer, but this is the funny part in my opinion >w<
SO I quickly decided to test out Balak01's digital comic thingy. This was done pretty quick- even the picture at the end. They are both boys so if you don't like it... please complain in your head and not to me... ^^
This is mostly something for the Y!forum people who are a part of Polaris as these are characters from it. This is not an update, just something funny- and if you didn't notice by the comic Aki has a crush on Hour. The last page of this slideshow is a quick picture I did for valentines day and only just finished... Hour would probably not be this nice to aki... I think he thinks aki is the most annoying creature in the world (which is probably true). And I love drawing verse so this worked out perfectly. I just hope the actual animation works...
This was mostly intended for the lovely Vossy because I told her I would make an hourXaki picture a long time ago @3@~<3 ILU

Well, at last it is here. This baby is the reason I have been away from dA for almost 4 months... It has been a mammoth project (95 pages of design). So...

Gore Vidal, the great old man of letters...

This month, in Polari Magazine we have an interview with the great American writer Gore Vidal, a man whose subject has always been the hope that the idea of the US represents. His writings on sexuality, homosexuality, and the imperial ambitions of modern America have always been far ahead of the curve. The interview touches on the legacy of the Bush administration, and the changing mood in Obama's America.

It only seemed fitting therefore, that I drew on Shepard Fairey's style for inspiration.

[link] (which has sound. I think.) Main controls are arrow keys and W, A, and D keys. It's pretty self-explanatory I think, but tutorial exists too~ Also, I suck at level 3 too so if you don't get it, dont' feel too bad =w= (and if you do get it like on your first try, I'm jealous)

A game prototype made during the Spring 2009 semester for my class CMS.610 Media Industries and Systems. The point of the class is basically to learn about game development, make a working demo of a video game, and prepare a pitch for a panel of judges (all actual video game designers or company head management types).

The story essentially goes that the main character, Vega Polaris, is a tech on Anemoi Station, a space station that loses power due to some unknown cause. The Gravity Polarizer, which affects the station's orientation, still works, so the player has to guide her through various rooms to find the control room and fix everything.

Done by a team of 5 individuals over the span of about 8 weeks. created the concept and did most of the programming, I did all the art. It's not quite as polished as my GAMBIT games but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out-- got to bust out Illustrator ~~even though everyone wanted me to use Flash~~ and learned how to animate ~~crappily~~.

There were 2 teams and 2 projects, but we got all six of the judges' votes =w=. Currently we're working on making this an iPhone game, so hopefully that'll come out nicely~

Dress is random. Random running clothing (when she runs with clothes on...erm...) happens to consist of Andrew's shorts... T'Sei steals his clothing occasionally to destroy with the variety of destructive forces on Vulcan. Sandstorms, pon farr...

I got partway through the animation, then the file corrupted I managed to save this before, thankfully, so I hope you enjoy it!

I think it messed up because the size of the images was too large and Flash couldn't handle it, so I am going to try and reduce the filesize. It's annoying, because this is my final exam piece ow

Sorry this is Black and White! It is actually supposed to be in full colour, but the file was too big so I compressed it as much as I could and it turned it black and white

It would have been a bigger update but the coloring for the fill bucket wasn't working. I don't know what the problem is so i couldn't finish the 2nd set of gloves. TT^TT
