        <media:text type="html"><![CDATA[ There's some good news and some good news about news.<br /><br />First of all, staff have been deleting one of the most annoying types of "news" that we've seen a lot of in v5: self-promotion. Although the new news system was originally touted as a no-moderation zone, the "i just maked new dev check it out!" posts have, thankfully, been disappearing for a while now. The time it takes for staff to come delete them varies (there is no need to report spam to an admin or staff member--just "uh-oh" it), but recently I saw a handful of them go bye-bye in the course of an evening.
