This is my first serious attempt at trying to write a haiku. I tried to follow the 5-7-5 tradition, but I thought I'd bend the rules a bit. That's what makes art, art, right?

Bad night, was sitting next to this girl who just kept I don't know what got me so annoyed but I decided it was better that I'd write it down instead of acctually punching her.
And when I wrote this she asked "What are you writing? Your diary? Dear diary, today I... "
I laughed and said: "Me and a diary? I wouldn't know what to write."

She didn't ask me what I wrote down, probably didn't care. What do we learn from this? Well that you can never know what the guy/girl next to you is thinking and writing down about you.
Now I feel mean...

Day _{feeling a little sentimental this evening...}

My brother and I.... are sort of the "black sheep" of my father's side of the family. I haven't spoken to any of them since I told him my mom would be walking me down the aisle (as, at the time I asked her, I didn't think he would come). He didn't show up--he had kidney stones and couldn't drive.

His birthday was a few days ago...and I didn't call. I didn't call because he hasn't called me in over a year, and I'm angry, and I'm hurt... And I've been feeling rather guilty about it. He's...older. It makes me sad to think that I've never really been given the chance to get to know him the way my siblings have, that I might be missing out on my last chance to. I should be more like my brother, who doesn't really care...but every Facebook status hurts. They all talk to each other, have pictures of each other, visit each other...

I don't understand why we can't be part of that. Why I can't be part of that.

Sometimes I think about some of the people I don't talk to anymore. Some of those people I've hurt, I'm sure... The ones I've hurt, I think about the most. I sometimes wonder if it's at all worth it to seek them out and apologise. Not simply to assuage my own guilt... but to make amends.

Maybe a huge part of it is my own guilt... but I suppose that's just a sign that I'm human, right?
