Okay, okay. It's been a busy year, and quite a lovely one at that. but here, to any remnants of my small pool of watchers that might still be out there, enjoy some personal poetry! It has to be submitted online as part of a publishing process, so please, to anyone who gives this one a one-over, thank you, to anyone who leaves some helpful feedback, thank you very much!

that he couldn’t help but look down on everything.
he looked down like a king on his world
or like an overlooker, miserable:
his face always noble, always tragic
photogenic, iconic
the way those long eyelashes were always drawn down
to hide his faded blue eyes.
he missed out on a lot, always looking at things like
concrete
and dirt
and slow-striding feet.

There once was a girl who was not quite as tall
(pretty average, actually)
with the brightest brown eyes
that saw the bright side of things;

There was another short poem I was hoping to submit onto here, but I seem to have misplaced it... One of those scattered pieces of poetry you write somewhere but find yourself losing in the flurry of paper and happenings.... Nonetheless, if I do find it, I'll be sure to post it. It's an earlier work and sappy and pretty amateur (as if my work now isn't amateur, ha), but hey, I thought it would be fun to share.

If you're feeling kind enough to leave some feedback for me, I'd greatly appreciate it! ]]> Do you sneak glances, a sideward leer,
A double check, to make sure I’m near,
With a sigh of relief seeing there’s nothing to fear?

As we linger in laughter and dance all our days
away to the color of sunsets we phase
between the realms of reality, of dreams, it’s a haze,
a kaleidoscope frenzy, a song, a fool’sh craze

And we dance to this stupor and we sing that we’re fools
we look up and smile seeing the rain as it cools
the landscape around us, turned to blue-ember pools
I laugh and say, “look, they’re your eyes, those sapphire jewels.”
