PART ONE

Screams ring throughout the air, piercing it like a million little needles each sharper than any knife, any sword that could be crafted by man. It surrounds me, not like a blanket or a warm embrace but how my own blood may. Everywhere. He sat up and hit the leaves above him with his head. His eyes began to adjust to the darkness and was able to realize where he was.

"What is it, Cyan?" Skye called out. His partner was not beside him.

As Skye crawled out of the miniature fort, he noticed how he wasn't drowsy. He must have just have fallen asleep for an hour or so before being woken up.

For one thing, I couldn't use myself as an example. >.< When I was on my high school swim team, I was able to swim 100 meters (swimming back and forth twice in a competition sized pool) without breathing... which was something not many people on the team could do. I also never properly timed myself. So I looked to Google for answers, and gathered that its around 30-40 seconds, some say a full minute, for an average person. So in the end I honestly had no idea what to put, so I estimated around a minute to a minute 1/2. XD
I blame my ability to hold my breath for a long time on my old swimming teacher from back when I was little. She used to make it a contest, and the winner would get a king-sized candy bar. And MAN, do I LOVE chocolate. O_O
