This is the third in a series of interconnected stories. The previous entries are Lesson PlanIt was the last day of the semester and the weather was mild, so the three young ladies decided to have a picnic lunch under the green canopy of an oak tree. Even on a normal weekday, the tree was far enough removed from the main campus footpaths to qualify as secluded, but the bulk of the university's population had already dwindled as students fled the school for the myriad diversions of summer.

As they approached the tree, one of the girls spotted something on the ground. Looks like someone left a fallen soldier behind, Sarah Moffett thought. Must have partied after their finals were done and failed to collect all the empties. But a close and Z's for the ZetasZeta Delta Chi had more than earned its reputation as the preeminent sorority for elite coeds. Membership was exclusive and available by invitation only. The prerequisites were affluence and physical beauty (girls who might be "pretty on the inside" need not apply). Needless to say, their houses on university campuses nationwide would be considered ideal targets for any enterprising kidnappers, whether abducting for ransom or... other reasons.

And so it came to pass that on a certain night late in the semester, at a certain campus, a pair of extended vans pulled onto Sorority Row and parked in the service alley behind the local Zeta Delta Ch The next story is Better Kidnapping Through Chemistry
Dr. Desmé Bastien rushed to get dressed so she could leave for her laboratory on the university campus. She'd awakened in the middle of the night with the most remarkable idea: a new and potentially revolutionary chemical combination that might solve numerous biological problems. If she was correct, the medical applications alone would change the lives of thousands -- perhaps millions -- for the better. She was so engrossed in her thoughts that she never noticed the van parked across the street from her house, even when the headlights came on and it began to follow her.

The first thing she did upon arriving was to don her crisp lab coat. The followed by Flight to OblivionEd Travis was looking forward to a good night's sleep. Tomorrow he'd be flying a planeload of college cheerleaders to their annual meet and while the visuals were always spectacular, the additional stress would be draining. He had just set his alarm clock and was about to slide under the covers when there was a knock on his motel room door. Frowning, he walked over and took a glance through the peephole. What he saw prompted him to throw on a robe and answer the door.

"Good evening, ladies. How can I help you?" Ed asked, trying to keep his gut sucked in.

The idea here is to continue a series for Steph which takes place loosely in the new DC universe, one in which she is no longer Batgirl. Obviously as new things are revealed about the new DC universe my version becomes more and more of an elseworld. Hopefully I've managed to keep Steph relatively admirable and heroic in her lead role. This issue is a parody issue playing off the Court of Owls event currently taking place in the bat books. While I've taken this opportunity to poke fun at some of the things that bug me and even break the fourth wall a couple of times I hope it still tells an entertaining and coherent story that fits into my over-reaching plot line. I really struggled with this one and even made a big change to it that required rewriting about four pages after a new idea occurred to me today while out running ten miles.

This month proved a challenge as the announcement in San Diego that Steph would be replaced in Smallville by Barbara really kicked me in the teeth just as it was time for me to get to work on a new script. Finally this past Thursday I was able to move forward and get to work. That means this one hasn't sat around being tweaked and rethought for days as my scripts frequently are. But I have family coming for my birthday next weekend so I figured if it was going to get done this month it had to be this weekend. And I did it!

I think this issue begins to provide at least hints to the reveals to my over-reaching story arc of the crystal skulls and energy orbs... at least as much as I know since I'm sort of coming up with this on the fly.

This issue isn't quite as lighthearted as some but I hope everyone enjoys the drama. Let me know what you think. Comments and critiques on the script are welcome. I hope my sister Steph fans a kick out of it. Thanks.

**UPDATE 11/14/12**
Altered a few lines on page five. I thought I would point this out for anyone following the story as it actually changes an aspect of the story in that now Steph does not remember what happened beyond the mists at Machu Picchu. Started working on the next issue and decided it might be more interesting this way.

For once I'm getting the issue out on my intended schedule which this month was to have something to post before the 20th.

This issue involves Steph's birthday and the introduction of yet another new baddie for her gallery of original rogues. It's a standalone issue like three and six before it although with a teaser at the very end.

I hope those who take the time to read enjoy my lighthearted approach and take on what I'd like more superhero comics to be.

Peter: 27 year old Peter Parker is the older adopted brother of Tonya and Stephanie, he was 7 when his sisters were born. He lives in a apartment nearby with his husband Wade Wilson and their daughter Penny Parker.

Brandy: 12 year old Brandy stark Banner is the young half sister of Peter, Tonya, and Stephanie. Her father is Bruce Banner and Brandy has super strength like her father but doesn't transform like her father. She has long brown hair and green eyes.

Peggy: 5 year old (4 months old in SoD) Peggy stark Rogers is The youngest sister, she's often seen with their mother Steve but also sometimes with Tony. She was brown hair and blue eyes

Dan DiDio is a Dick

So, this week's assignment was (and I quote):
"You're going to write an interesting mundane story. I want you to use all four methods of direct characterization. Do not use any indirect characterization. [...] I want you to work as hard as possible at giving the reader a full, human sense of who the character is. The main thing is that in every sentence you write you are further revealing this character to the reader."

So, how did I do?

Personally, I'm pretty happy with this. I mean, granted when I first plotted this out, TK had a much larger role and I was able to explain the "Stephanie Brown/Dan DiDio is such a dick thing" in a drawn out, more dialog-centric way, so it actually had potential to really resonate with people. So, once again: Bite me, three page limit.

I'd really like to go back someday and write the story I wanted to here. I know myself better than that though, so I'm putting it up as it now -- 'cause less is better than none at all, right?

lonely little girl

_{Sorry for the tease, folks.

This morning as I was waking up from a dream I was having, (in which I was peeling some wallpaper off a wall in my grandparent's house, unveiling this poem I had apparently written when I was six years old; I'd written and carved it on the wall, and there were accompanying Mirrormask-style illustrations and it was all cool, hence where "the key has reached its boiling point" came from. I know it makes no sense but shut up it's poetry. xD ANYWAY there was this girl sitting there and I think she was who this poem was about. She was wearing red, black, and gold Victorian-style clothing and she had very long, curly, ink-black hair and dark brown eyes. Pale skin, ruby-red lips. She was just so pretty and so sad looking.)

So anyway I was waking up and I'm like "I HAS TO WRITE POETRY NAO" and I spewed this thing out in less than 20 minutes. I'll probably improve it as I see fit; I think its ending is rather abrupt, but other than that I'm pleased with it.

Of course I should know better than to repeat other people's mistakes (see: Stephanie Meyer) and write literature based off stuff I dreamed (see: Twilight) but yeaaaahh I'm kind of being a massive hypocrite so I'll shut up about that.

I think the girl in question is a combination of some of my favorite female characters. She kind of reminds me of Xion and Namine from Kingdom Hearts (themes of "Nobody", then all the artwork) and Helena from MirrorMask (artwork on the wall). Yeah.

This issue involves action hijinks in Hong Kong with a huge dose of humor. I'm running late this month. I just finished it up in the last few minutes and, being as it is still comic day, I decided to post it immediately so there may be some typos and stuff I will fix later. In the end I think this is a fun issue with plenty of action, nice moments and a surprising villain showing up on the last page. After all how could Black Bat and Spoiler hijinks in Hong Kong with humor not be heavenly?

Okay, so this Mother's Day issue should have been out a couple of weeks ago. Like Steph I guess I missed Mother's Day.

This issue involves more action hijinks in Hong Kong with some drama back in Gotham. The back and forth plotting got a bit intricate. I hope I managed to pull it off so that it is fairly easy to follow. I just finished it up in the last few minutes and decided to post it immediately so there may be some typos and stuff I will fix later.

In the end I think this is a fun issue with plenty of action and nice moments that ties up a few things before we get on with the over-reaching plot. Issues 7 through 9 have turned out to be what I think people like to call a story arc, although in each case I still tried to make each issue stand alone as much as possible because I really think that's how comics should be written.

This month proved a disaster as lightning hit my computer on August 9 at which point I had just started this month's episode and had about four pages drafted. It turned out my home computer was fried, but it took a week to find that out and a second week to get a new computer home and set up. Fortunately I had time to crank out the entire issue this past weekend so I'm going to get it posted within the month per my schedule, albeit barely. I was afraid I might not make it, but I did!

I think this issue is a lot of fun and really keeps the story zipping along. It morphed quite a bit while I was writing it which was interesting. I really like the way the Cass bit in this issue just sort of became necessary. I think there are several little bits that should make folks smile.

Summary: Stephanie Brown has always had an untold story, one we’ve only caught glimpses of. This story will delve more into who she really was, what made her Spoiler, Robin, and ultimately Batgirl, and how her death changed everything.

Disclaimer: All characters, storylines, etc are property of DC Comics. Be warned that spoilers will follow and there may be some uncomfortable details described in the chapters ahead. Adequate warning will be given.

Author’s Note: To me, Stephanie Brown has always had that untold story. The one you catch glimpses of, but never really delve into. We continue to learn more, but who was she, really? So she wasn’t super strong or super intelligent. What was important was her heart, and her determination, and following through with what she believed to be the right course. Sure she was stubborn; I think we all have been in our lives. But the events leading up to her death at the hands of Black Mask, how did they shape her? Now that she’s returned officially, taking up the role of Batgirl, how much has she changed?

The following story centers around the events that lead up to her death, and is one consisting of significant events in her life, ones that will delve more into who Stephanie Brown really was, what made her Spoiler, Robin, and ultimately Batgirl, yet she always kept true to herself. Each chapter will be another point of her life, a significant event.

This poem is about chocolate, of course. What did you think it was on about?

It's a joke poem expressing my love for chocolate. When it comes to chocolate, I become this wild woman so if I ever offer to share my chocolate, then you'll know it's my way of saying that we're friends.
I haven't written anything in a long while so I thought I'd try and dabble and I eventually came up with this. I don't think it's that great but I can't help but like it.

I tried my hand at rhyming in the last stanza and I like one or two of the lines in the final stanza.

This is a fan fiction exercise in script writing for comics. Many of the characters are properties of DC Comics. Other characters like Joe, Pongo, Aku and Paindora are my own creations.

This one came together really quickly once I started writing. I hope that's a good sign. This whole sixteen issue run of Steph Adventures was not only an opportunity for me to practice writing scripts, but also my way of producing an example of the sort of story I would myself like to see and read in terms of tone. I'd like to think there's still room in our jaded modern world for good old-fashioned adventure stories in which the goodies find a way to thwart the baddies before the final page. Please let me know what you think. I'd love to get the feedback!

The first chapter of a story I'm gonna be doing using a superhero I came up with as a little kid and have tweaked time after time as I've grown up. He's not a part of the DC or Marvel universes, he's in his own universe, though he will be appearing in a project belonging to a friend of mine, which I will give the link to when it's up.

Also, NO, the "And here we go" bit isn't a reference to The Dark Knight. If I'm referencing anything, it's the bajillion times Stephanie Brown said it in Batgirl. lol Also, Strix is a super-heroine created by my gf, not the former member of the Court of Owls, and will eventually be appearing as well.

So yeah, lemme know what you think, good and bad, and what I could do to improve overall.

Not as fanny as the opening to its predecessor, but thats just because I wanted to give a little background not dive right in this time. *Como ya se vio, el doctor Brown es uno de los personajes principales en las películas de Volver al Futuro. El tablero lo inventé porque supongo que en ese tiempo el Doctor había modificado un poco el auto.

I grabbed "War Drums" from the book store the other day, a comic collection of the events leading up to Batman's "War Games." Strangely enough, even though Stephanie Brown sort of annoyed me and made a pretty mediocre Robin, I still ended up feeling sorry for her in the end. Or maybe I just felt like being ticked off Batman... even though he was right.

At the end of Batgirl #54, Batgirl encounters Stephanie as Spoiler again. Stephanie cries and loudly vows that she'll show him--- she'll show them all! AH-hahahah!

Er, minus the evil laughter. That part was me.

UPDATE: (11/08/06)
So, okay. After having read all three acts of War Games, this song is actually very uncharacteristic of Spoiler. She didn't make the right decision to escape Batman's endless vanity. Instead she decided to do as he did--- she tried until it killed her. (Logically, if there ever was an end to Batman, he'd probably die fighting. Yes?)

So the moral of this song is: run away from bad obsessions/relationships! Don't be like stupid kids who get gutted by Black Mask!

Yes, this the beginning of a Twilight parody series.

Please do not take offense at anything expressed in this story because it is fiction. Yes, it is Twilight. I realize that there are groups of people who don’t like Twilight (the movie or the book. I agree about the movie; the plot was everywhere and made no sense.) However, I would appreciate it if you did not spam my work about how you do not like the book, the movie, Stephanie Meyer, or any of that.

All my pieces are generally open for your interpretation. If you take offense at something, or simply dislike it, I apologize in advance. However, though I am completely alright with and accept you disliking any and all of my work, I would appreciate it if you did not spam my work with hate messages. Creative criticism? Great! Bashing me uselessly? Not so much.
If I don’t know what is wrong and how to fix it (hence creative criticism), how am I going to become a better artist?
However, if all you say is, “Wow your writing/drawing/general artwork sucks so much it needs to go die blah blah blah.” What am I to learn from that?
Aside from that, it just irritates other users who actually want to say something constructive.
That being said, I appreciate anyone taking the time to look at my work. Thank you.

This is a fan fiction exercise in comic strip writing. Former Spoiler/Robin/Batgirl Stephanie Brown is property of DC Comics along with many other characters who appear in this issue. Other characters like Joe and Pongo are my creations.

This issue was a bit of a struggle due to the amount of stuff I wanted to do in it but I finally got going this past weekend. It all came together on Sunday fortunately so I'm going to get it posted within the month per my schedule, albeit barely once again.

I think this issue is a lot of fun and really keeps the story zipping along in vintage action adventure style. Yes, I have altered Cheetah's origin story so that it becomes illustrative of one of my plot points. Let me know what you think. Comments and critiques on the script are welcome. I hope sister Steph fans get a kick out of it. Thanks.

The full title is still DO NOT OPEN UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE but that won't fit in the title bar. Last time I just used DO NOT OPEN... but I think that might have scared people away.

Okay, it's rant time.
I was choosing my categorie and genre for this work and I noticed something. A lot of people really don't know the difference between Fantasy and Sci-Fi. It's really simple actually. There are only a few small differences. Fantasy doesn't have to follow the laws of our world. Thats why, in fantasy, magic is commonplace. Science Fiction does have to follow the rules. But the kicker is this:
Fantasy doesn't explain why things are the way they are. Science Fiction does.

An Example: The original Star Wars Trilogy. Great example of science fiction right? Wrong. The original Star Wars Trilogy was fantasy. Why? The force. The force was just some powerful energy that allowed Luke to get his lightsaber just in time, before being killed by that Sasquatch thing, or allowed Darth Vader to hurl crap at his kid. There was no explanation as to what this force was, so it was magic and thus, did not follow any laws or attempt to do so.
But then Episode 1 came out and we learned that the force is caused by Midiclorians or however the hell you spell it. Tiny organisms. Well, theres an explanation for ya! It became Science Fiction!

I have no point. Just felt like ranting for a while. Blah blah blah!
